This place was great! Everything was delicious but! The service could use a little help. We didn’t get out check for over 20 minutes of being done :/so poor service but everything else was so great! you’ll have to drop by if you’re ever in town

We were in the Valley today and were in the mood for Peruvian food. We decided to stop at a corner place near an auto body shop. Let me tell you this place is excellent. We have eaten at many Peruvian places and this was a beyond food bliss. I had pulpo a la Padilla and it was fantastic nice and tender not overcooked like other places. The attention to detail in preparing it was culinary perfection. I will be coming back and bring more people to try this new fusion of flavors

This place has great authentic food. The service is typical for a restaurant in Peru, they don’t warm you and you can call anyone for help. This is how it is done in small restaurants in Peru(at least the cities I have been to). The also don’t expect 20% tips: just another FYI. Really good food. Place is known for mariscos/seafood and the lomito is great too. Anticuchos are some of the best I have had anywhere. Ask for the rocoto salsa to kick it up a notch in spice. Ignore the reviews that complain about service, because you will miss out on a a real taste of authentic Peruvian food!!!

A few of us decided to give this place a try when it first opened, service was decent, the lomo saltado was just ok in my opinion but the star of the show was the Pulpo a la Parilla… So good! Great flavor and cooked perfectly. Everyone else with me had plate envy because their dishes weren’t as good. I’d probably go back just for that dish.

I was told by a fellow Unilocaler about this place. I have to say what a total bust!!! I definitely would never come back to say at least. When we arrived we weren’t even greeted I said Hi and the guy just said how many people and said to sit anywhere. How about a Hello or Welcome??? Their parking sucks there are like 3 parking spots we had to park in the street they are located next to a body shop so good luck finding parking. Anyhow the number 1 reason I came here was because of the causa de pollo. It looked really good in the pictures posted by other Unilocalers. Sooo when we were ordering I ordered their causa and the girl said they didn’t have it. Say whaaaaat??? I asked her do they not have it tonight or what and she didn’t really give me a reason just said they didn’t have it. Well why the hell do you have a chalk board sign posted saying todays special was Causa??? Wtf. Take it off than! Sooo that was definitely a major disappointment. We ordered our food the pollo saltado with white meat for an additional $ 1.00 and the vegetarian chaufa. No where on the menu did the chaufa(fried rice) say it has peas. It listed peruvian corn, red bellpeppers, fried egg, green onions. I hate peas soooo when I got my order I saw all the peas and I asked the girl about it and she didnt say anything. I didn’t want to make a big deal I just said I don’t like peas and its not on the menu but I’ll just pick them off. The right thing to do was to remake it but whatever… I let it go… Seriously for 5 minutes straight I was picking off the peas and putting them on a side plate. Very annoying. Ps. Also there was no peruvian corn I didn’t even see any corn in my chaufa so maybe they substituted it with peas. Well I have to say it wasn’t what I wanted nor did it taste good. I felt like I was eating fried rice from an Asian restaurant. It didn’t taste like authentic peruvian food at all. I know fried rice has that Asian style fried rice but there was no authenticity. I ate some and packed the rest. On to the pollo saltado oh my goodness… salt factory. Disgustinggggg. I felt sooooo bad for my Husband he’s so nice. I wish he would have had something to the server. But damn his food was laced with sooo much salt. The rice had soooo much salt ans the chicken was the dryest chicken ever. It was not good at all. Poor guy!!! The only good thing this place has going good is their bread and green sauce. Their green sauce was one of thee top sauces Ive had for peruvian food. We literally dumped so much green sauce on our food and bread to give it flavor. All in all I’m bummed we wasted $ 40 dollars on a meal we both did not like. They definitely need to get their stuff together. Needless to say I would never come back nor would he and I would not recommend this place to anyone!!! It was definitely a miss!!!

Updated: so they have apologized for their credit card problem. I understand they are still new so systems tend to fail, just seemed sketchy. Anyways that in the past beside the card issue this place is just great food Everything in their menu will blow you away. I always order the lomo saltado chicken or the beef.(the chicken is by far my favorite) lomo saltado come with fries, red onions, tomatoe, and choice of protein. Another one of my favorites is the ¼ roasted chicken, the skins texture has this taste that makes you go nuts for, I’d recommend you to order it with their white rice and deep fried bananas(aka platanitos) Pricing is fair for food this great, haven’t tried all their menu yet, but soon will. Ask for a chicha morada it’s like a Peruvian kool aid.

Do not go to this place ever ! So first time I went the quality was ok but I decided to give it another shot . I got the pulpo ala parria again but this time half the size for almost $ 30!!! I noticed and went back and told the manager and he rudely answer«this is the only size we have, it is what it is «. I’m not delusional I know what I got last time and it was twice the size I mean for $ 30 it better be right? I’m never going back here again . On top of everything the food made me ill. I couldn’t sleep all night ! I personally will not ever go to this place again they are ridiculously rude and the food made me sick . These people don’t know how to run a business. What a horrible experience.

The lomo saltado was a bit too heavy on the juice for my taste, But still tasted AMAZING. Also tried their pollo saltado and the taste was spot on. Their Choros a la chalaca tasted very fresh. Must try.

I was very surprised that such a nice restaurant would be in this bad part of town. Great customer service, the waitress really knew the menu and recommended traditional Peruvian food to us. It was our first time trying Peruvian food. It was a beautiful night out, so we sat outside. The waitress always kept coming back to ask us politely if everything was ok. We never felt neglected. I don’t think I would recommend sitting outside if you don’t want to swat flies throughout the meal. There is nothing to shield us from the busy street. The food was so good though, that we didn’t mind much. The cheese papas were good, not great because it wasn’t hot, but the sauce was delicious. I got the rib eye with plantains; my bf got the traditional beef dish with tomatoes and onions. They were both pretty good – for $ 13.99 and $ 10.99, this is very excellent quality food and service. Definitely would come back!

Out of all my travels, Peru is one of the places that had overall yummy, yet unique and interesting cuisine. Ever since my visit in 2009, I have been searching for a good peruvian restaurant. At Chios, I ordered the ceviche mixto. This had a mix of seafood– fish, shrimp, scallops, calamari, and mussels(i think? I am an argentinean carnivore so I don’t really speak seafood). It also came with yams and corn. I was doing whole30 at the moment so I just avoided the corn. I am not much of a seafood person, but Peruvian ceviche is something that I can eat and thoroughly enjoy! this ceviche was delicious, pretty large, and fresh. We also ordered the Parrilla Chios. If you have ever been to an Argentinean restaurant and ordered parrilla, these come out the same way. The steak itself was marinated well but a bit tough. The aticuchos(beef heart. say what? just try them!) were surprisingly tasty. I mean, not tasty in which I will crave them, but they were good. The winner in the parrilla was the chicken — juicy, crispy outside, just perfect! WHOLE30PICKS — Ceviche(omit corn, they will serve without upon request), parrilla

Ordered food to go because this was the closest Peruvian restaurant that delivers! I gave it a 3 stars because there Lomo Saltado didn’t have the normal veggies that I am use to. I asked for no rice but more veggies and the man on the phone said they only had tomatoes and onions to add! Forget that! Anyhow when you get the food delivered don’t be shocked to see rice and fries on the to go box and the meat aside so the fries doesn’t get soggy. Two thumbs up for that! My husband ordered Bistek el Pobre and overall he said it wasn’t bad! It came with rice and egg on top with plantains and fries! The egg was suppose to be sunny side up but it was too cooked that there was no yolk. The amount of fries was pretty decent! Quite pricey for OK food if you’re really hungry and craving for so-so Peruvian food! Maybe next time well try dine in.

Came here for dinner on a Saturday night, and the place was pretty busy. We were a large party and made reservations ahead of time. The place is small, and all the tables were pretty close together. My husband and I shared the Parrilla Chios, which came with a ton of meat and two sides. There was enough food for more than 2 of us. The meats tasted decent, but not memorable. There were other dishes, such as the Piqueo Criollo, which I couldn’t try(was on the Whole30 diet) but everyone else in the group enjoyed it. Service was good. The food came out fairly quickly, and it usually wasn’t hard to flag down a waiter. Given that I was on a strict diet and there were vegetarians in our group, the staff was pretty patient and answered many questions we had regarding what ingredients were in each dish. Overall, there were some good dishes and some okay ones. I would’ve expected the meats to taste better.

Ive never had Peruvian food before, so this was definitely a pleasant surprise. Being vegetarian, I ordered their dish w/quinoa, fried potatoes, and steamed rice. The aroma of the dish is amazing, and made me think of quinoa and hominy in a new way. Although parking is a little challenging and the food is a little pricey, definitelt worth a visit!

First the parking is awful, stacked parking, so we parked on the street. The place is nice enough inside, with outside seats too, which we sat out, though not the best view of Sepulveda. I had the Tacu Tacu Con Lomito, which I had never had before. It was decent enough, though a little borring and could have used more meat for $ 15. Kelly had the ¼ chicken with plantains and salad, which was quite delicious and a good deal. And the plantains were to die for. Other stuff looked pretty good, though the prices are a bit high, especially for that area.

I found this place through LivingSocial, so glad I did! I called to place an order and picked up. The waitresses here are super friendly. I love how my food was neatly packed and ready to go as soon as I arrived. Even though the lomo saltado is sitting in beef liquid juices I was so happy that it made it home just that way. Like I said, they pack really good! No one rolled their eyes or looked shocked when I used a deal. They thanked me as if I was a full priced paying customer. I felt welcomed and appreciated. The food I ordered, lomo saltado and the chaufa de carne were both delicious! I found the lomo a bit on the salty side, but it was still delicious. I enjoyed every last bite and was so glad I had enough for leftovers The next day! Try it, you will love it!

2 Words! La Copa! Seriously y’all, I don’t think you will find a better ceviche dish anywhere. You have an oversized wine glass filled to the rim with delicious raw seafood and topped with fried calamari served with a side of red onions, corn hominy and fried corn kernels. Every bite is a tangy explosion of flavors coupled with the raw goodness. After having had the chance to try the Ceviche a few months back, we decided to make our way back here to give my visiting sister a taste of Peruvian food. Naturally, the first thing we ordered was the Ceviche La Copa. I’ve managed to try the Lomo Saltado, Bistec a Lo Pobre, Churrasco Encebollado and I must say, everything has been really good. The restaurant is on the small side and does get packed pretty quick. The first time we came in here, we ended up waiting about 25 mins for a table. The second time, we were seated promptly but as soon as our food arrived, there wasn’t an empty table in the restaurant. One major gripe is the parking situation. They have a very tiny parking lot and sometimes, people do double park so getting out is a bit of a mess. Best to find parking along Sepulveda.

Terrible!
