C’est La V Bakeshop

I went to vegan cupcake heaven! I have been vegan for over a year now and haven’t found a local bakery for desserts. i discovered C’est La V Bakeshop while watching Cupcake Wars and ordered right away. Sadly, they aren’t as close to me as I’d like (but that’s probably a good thing for my waistline!), but I got to try the Velvet Cupcake with Cream Cheese frosting yesterday. They were delicious! My whole family loved them and they aren’t vegan. I can’t wait to try the Peanut Butter and Chocolate cupcakes.

Let me state for the record that I am not a vegan or vegetarian — I love eating animal products. However, I have to say that the few desserts I’ve had from C’est La V were really good, and I would not have known they were vegan in a blind taste test. The Mexican Chocolate cupcake (mini cupcakes are $ 1.50) was supposed to have hints of cinnamon and chile, but it tasted like regular chocolate to me. However, it was moist and the frosting on top was creamy and delicious. I’ve also had their Red Velvet and Chocolate cupcakes — again, the cakes are moist and the frosting delicious. I tried a sample of her Oatmeal & Cherry cookie and Gingersnaps (each small bag is about $ 4.50) and again, I couldn’t tell they were vegan! Prices are a bit expensive, as most vegan items tend to be, but I’d say it’s definitely worth it for vegans; as for me, since I’m happily not, I can find delicious baked goods elsewhere for less, but I’ll definitely still purchase a dessert or two from here when I’m at the Farmer’s Market!

and they were really good. I ordered them for my girlfriend who is vegan (I however am not) and I couldn’t tell the difference. Since I live in AZ and can’t make it to LA as often as I would like, I will definitely order from this site again!

Wow! Have you tasted this lady’s cupcakes?
I am not normally a fan of vegan desserts but I eat them because hell, that’s all that is available to me. I find them to be too dense, too oily, too flavorless, etc.
Well C’est La V Bakeshop sets up at the Hollywood Farmer’s Market every Sunday and they sell the most amazing vegan cupcakes I have ever tasted. I mean it’s downright shocking how good they are — they taste like REAL cupcakes. I really don’t think anyone would be able to tell the difference between their vegan cupcakes and non-​vegan cupcakes. I ordered a pumpkin cupcake, a chocolate cupcake and a red velvet cupcake — all with a vegan cream cheese frosting. YUM!
They sell a lot of other vegan desserts so check them out. You can also hire them for catering and they do delivery of special orders. If you have trouble finding them at the Farmer’s market, just go to the information desk and ask where to find them.
