Carrie the Musical

Loved loved loved this musical. The actors were insanely talented and they made sure the experience was very interactive. On top of that, the entire theatre was decked out in scenes from the movie. There wasn’t a single detail that was overlooked. One of my faves was the ballroom by the ladies room. So eerie and perfect. Also, the shower scene on the middle floor was perfectly lit and captured.
Those sitting in the «Senior Class» seats were treated to moving bleacher stands. Really cool. The telekinetic effects were nothing to sneeze at, either. The silver confetti that dropped from the ceiling during the prom scene was a great touch. Hats off to the set designers, as you could tell that they put a ton of thought and work into it.
As for the negative, I must say that the seats were a bit uncomfortable. The wooden bleacher benches were hard on the posterior after a while. Also, would’ve liked to have a cocktail at intermission, but no adult beverages. Not a big deal, grab one before and/​or after the show.
Overall, great performance by the cast and excellent production. Go watch if you’re a big fan of the movie and King.

This show was a lot of fun. I was skeptical at first, because I was not sure how they would pull this off, but I was more than pleasantly surprised. The set design and stage work was great, singing and acting was amazing. The venue was awesome. Upon entering, you could take a photo with fun prom props. If you went downstairs, they had incredible set designs of the locker room, a bar with the murdered pig, and a nice little deserted prom scene. The bathroom mirrors were decked out too. I left wanting to see this show again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good time and enjoyable show.

They probably don’t have a Unilocal account because it is a new show, but they should. The venue is the Los Angeles Theatre and it is stunning. It is needs a good cleanup, but the chance to be inside this gorgeous space is awesome. If you go, be sure to wander around the middle level and downstairs, it is amazing and they have some fun installations which make for great photo ops.
As for the show, we had a blast. I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. I can honestly say, this is probably the best production of this musical you will ever see, and that is because the leads are all spectacularly talented, and the staging is immersive and really well done. We sat in the moving bleachers (rolled around by actors) and it really added to the experience. I thought it sounded cheesy, but it is actually effective when you are there. The special effects were spectacular. Sure, we saw a few cables (we were REALLY close) but that did not detract from a few jaw dropping moments. I hope this show does well, because everyone gave 110%, including the producers, artistic team, and cast.
