Just trying to get on the phone with someone there will make you want to rip your hair out. They don’t take insurance. Consultations cost $ 420. All of this information could be easily displayed on their website, but instead I have to go through a dozen different operators to hear that from a receptionist. I’ve gotten root canals that were less stressful.

Dr. Marrs is the best endocrinologist in California, and one of the best in the world. Do your research. He is a PIONEER in reproductive medicine. He has probably trained your doctor! Every question I had during our consultation, his answer began with «I conducted a study on this and it showed that…».
I don’t even know where to begin, but we have a beautiful baby boy because of him and we will be forever grateful. He is kind, CARING, and patient. Traits most Drs. in this field lack. We were mistreated by another doctor who was only in it for the money and we sought out another clinic. We were referred to Dr. Marrs by a labor and delivery nurse we know. Best recommendation ever.
He was so patient with me, and I was a mess! Three years of trying to get pregnant can really wear you down. His advice was heartfelt, true and in our best interest and we trusted him. He did not rip us off, he did not make us try IUI after IUI, he did not recommend IVF either, as I only had two to three follicles at any given time for a period of one year. I finally looked at him and said,“I think it’s time to consider an egg donor”. He replied it was a good decision. He never told me himself to give up, rather, he led me in the right way so that I would realize it myself and not feel pressured. I’m so glad I did it. I love my baby more than life itself. We were so grateful for Dr. Marrs’ advice. After insemination, he shook my husband’s hand and said «Congratulations» as if he knew we were going to be pregnant. And four weeks later, it was confirmed we were! When we were eventually released to my OB/​GYN after 11 weeks pregnant, I cried when I had to say good bye to this man. I was so grateful and emotional for his existence. I recommend ANYONE to go to him. Private message me with any questions, I’ll be happy to answer them.

I don’t even know where to begin…
First of all, I am extremely detail oriented and a bit OCD when it comes to big decisions. I researched the egg freezing process for almost 2 years. I also interviewed multiple friends who went through egg freezing themselves and created an extensive list of doctors based on their experiences and results. From this research, I created a «short list» & interviewed 8 doctors in Southern California who offer egg freezing services. (It was a struggle to get the offices to set up these calls for free FYI… but I am pretty pushy and both my sister and I were going to freeze) These doctors were in Los Angeles all the way to Newport Beach as I was willing to drive wherever I needed to for the BEST SERVICE.
I was not at all interested in COST and CHEAP but of course that was one of the 12 factors/​questions I asked when I interviewed each of these doctors.
I chose Dr. Baek because she was the most thorough, informative, conservative and HONEST doctor of the bunch. I did not get the feeling that she was just interested in my money… In fact, quite the contrary.
Ladies… At Dr. Baek’s office we ONLY PAY per visit for the ultrasound and the blood work needed for that day!
OTHER OFFICES WANTED TO TAKE A LARGE DEPOSIT TO «HOLD A SPOT» AND WAS TRYING TO HARD SELL ME TO HAND OVER MY CREDIT CARD NUMBER ON THE PHONE! INSANE!!!
Dr. Baek wanted me off birth control for a few months before we got started on the journey. She examined my sister and advised that she should do acupuncture for some fibroids to ensure that my sister was able to harvest more eggs…
Of course, this means Dr. Baek ran the risk that we would get pregnant on our own, get married or change our minds…
I also learned that she was part of one of the FIRST STUDIES in the United States on egg freezing at New York University NYU. In this study they actually conducted testing on real women and then created live births from these frozen eggs. I was happy to learn that she was part of this groundbreaking study, because it means she is one of the most experienced doctors in this field.
I loved working with Dr. Baek throughout the entire process. Dr. Baek is THE BEST doctor on the West Coast for egg freezing.

After 5 – 6 years of trying I was referred to Dr. March by my OB in Alaska for a hesteroscopy. My doctor recommended Dr. March because he can get the job done with the highest chance of becoming pregnant. He is also the best of the best. After surgery I flew back home and after 4 cycles of clomid I welcomed my baby girl in august 2011. I am now the proud mother of 3 beautiful girls. I thank my ob and Dr. March for working as a team to help me reach my dream. Highly recommend Dr. March and his staff.

We chose Dr. Ringler after interviewing a few other fertility physicians. We couldn’t be happier with our choice. Dr. Ringler has been extremely professional and patient with us, guiding us through the process and answering all of our questions in a very timely manner. Monica (Dr Ringler’s nurse coordinator) was amazing and did above and beyond to make sure everything runs smoothly.
We got pregnant on our first IVF cycle and are grateful for the excellent service and top notch care that we were provided by Dr. Ringler and his team.

I decided to go to doctor Ringler after also interviewing a well known fertility doctor in beverly hills which I did not get a good feeling from.
The process of getting pregnant was not short and easy (I underwent surgery for a uterine septum and did 2 IUI’s) but he proved to be excellent at what he does and a master at doing transfers without having me have a full bladder which is so nice.
I got pregnant with my first IVF and unfortunately lost the pregnancy early on but got pregnant again on the second try and now have a beautiful 2 month old little boy. I am so grateful to him and nurse Martha for helping me achieve my dream.
(I also got to meet doctor March which I liked a lot– Not to keen on the other partners).

We are forever grateful for the expertise of Dr. Marrs and professional staff. After an initial consultation with another doctor in our Orange County area, I was told my tubes were not viable. Before delving into IVF I had an instinct we should get a second opinion. We then scheduled with Dr. Marrs and made the drive to LA after I learned that three of my husband’s friends wives had children because of Dr. Marrs. We felt immediately at ease and confident in our choice of Dr. Marrs, who not only told me my tubes were indeed viable but wanted to take the step by step conservative path to conception. The many drives to LA were worth the professionalism and top notch facility. They have a lab on site whereas other offices require you to go off site. Since the cycle never stops and timing ovulation is everything, they are open every day, now that’s commitment! They were there every necessary moment and after IUI #2 we have a healthy baby boy on the way. We wish we could stay in the care of Dr. Marrs through the whole term, he was wonderful. We are incredibly grateful and cannot say enough about our positive experience. Highly recommend this world class facility.

We went through the IVF process through the Utah extension of CFP, using Dr. Richards and Dr. Marrs. We were initially impressed with what we read about the practice but I would highly recommend that Utah patients find a Utah doctor. It seems like a no brainer now but at the time we went with it thinking maybe the quality of care would be better but after the fact I don’t think it was. IVF didn’t work for us which is really sad and frustrating, but we’d still like to leave some honest feedback for others to consider going forward.
1) Especially if you’re a first timer, make sure you see reproductive specialists first before turning to IVF. I wish CFP would have done something to help us understand «why» we weren’t getting pregnant rather than just getting on with the procedure. That’s most our fault and I totally admit that. But for anyone considering IVF it’s only going to work if your body has trouble getting pregnant, if it has trouble staying pregnant (known and unkown miscarriages) then it’s a useless procedure. Unrelated side note, I’ve had several friends and associates get pregnant naturally after multiple failed IVF procedures by improving diet and either gaining or losing weight, depending on if they were too lean or too heavy. But let’s stick to CFP.
2) My other big frustration was after the processed failed, we never heard from anyone again until the next year when it came time to pay the storage fees for the frozen embryos! No one tried to call us to explain what happened or what could have been done differently, etc. We could totally relate with the other reviewer that felt alone. Of course not every IVF procedure results in a baby but some sort of follow up was certainly in order.
3) The last thing is we were very frustrated after learning that CFP was not using the most up to date practices. The specific example was how many days to wait before freezing the extra embryos to give the best chance of future success. CFP didn’t adopt their current practices, which are up to date now, until two years after every one else was doing it. We learned from other friends that did the procedure before us with different clinics that they were already practicing with the improved freezing time, but ours were done by CFP according to the older out of date methodology. This really shook our confidence and made me wonder if they were behind on other aspects of the procedure as well.
We were partially sold on how Dr Marrs was apparently the first Dr to successfully reimplant a frozen and then thawed embryo, which is really cool. But why fall behind the ever evolving technology then? We certainly would have asked had anyone given us the courtesy of a follow up phone call.

I saw Dr. Ringler in 2012 for my IVF transfer as a surrogate. He was fantastic in explaining the whole process so I could understand what was happening with my body. We ended up getting pregnant on the first try with one stellar embryo and baby girl will be 11 months old tomorrow!!!

This is my first time going through IVF and many who have challenges conceiving know that this is a very emotional process. Thus you need not only a clinic with a good success rate but more importantly a place with staff who care. I have to say that my experience at CFP has been exceptional. It is unfortunate the experience the other reviewer had is different from my experience.
To begin, when we first looked into making an apt, the staff was very helpful as we are traveling from out of town. The doctors will schedule a virtual meeting with you if needed to discuss your situation. We found the staff there to be exceptional. The girls at the front desk always remembered me and I hardly ever had to wait for my appointment. The lab staff was exceptional also. They were always professional and positive. Everyone there seemed like they were there for the patients and were very understanding of the difficult situations the patients were in.
The back nurses were also great. They always got back to me quickly and were available by email and phone in the evenings and throughout the day. Majority of them are well trained and are very patient in explaining the whole stimulation process and next steps with you.
My RE is wonderful also. Always so positive and has an incredible bedside manner. She is very knowledgable in her field and was even available via email late in the evenings when I emailed her. Majority of the time, I would receive calls from her to follow up versus her nurses. Dr. Baek was always available to me. Complete opposite of the RE I saw in Houston. She was also there memorial weekend when I was there for one of my u/​s.
We live in Houston and was originally planning on going through the process here but ended up at CFP because of a recommendation from my doctor in LA and also because we found the staff at CFP to genuinely care and want to be there. They are open 7 days a week, even on holidays! I even had Dr. Stone draw my blood on a holiday Sunday!
Dr. Stone, the lab director is also amazing. He is very knowledgable and will sit down with you to explain the embryo growth process and also personally call you regarding how they are growing.
We are still in the midst of our first IVF cycle and hopefully will have success if not this time the next. I hope my review will be helpful to some of you.
As for the facility, I find the office very calming. All the rooms are well equipped and the recovery and surgery rooms are all very comfortable and clean. I even had acupuncture on site.
We have considered going to clinics in BH and SD but are happy at CFP even though the others have better 2011 SART success rates.

I’m curious what doctor the previous poster had. I’ve seen Dr. March and have only good things to say about him. He’s is caring, available and responsive to e-​mails, and has helped woman around the world who fly in for his services. I also have a friend that’s been to Dr. Marrs and had only good things to say about him. I also have found everyone I’ve dealt with in their staff very pleasant and attentive. I have no complaints about the office or the procedure rooms, although I must admit I have no basis for comparison as far as fertility clinics go, but it’s more pleasant than most doctor offices I’ve gone to.
Update: I had a hysteroscopy performed by Dr. March and then started fertility treatments with him. I got pregnant with a little girl after my first IVF at age 41.

After investing time and money, here is my review of CFP as a whole. BTW, I’ve had IVF treatment in other facilities, so I am not a newbie when it comes to what can and cannot a fertility clinic do, especially when you have to pay for their services out of pocket and not at all covered by insurance.
let me start with the positive…
the laboratory headed by dr stone was A+. for every egg that was retrieved from me, they manage to fertilize and create an embryo 90% of the time. lets just say dr. stone has managed to fertilize all of my handful eggs (maybe one at most doesn’t make it to transfer). to me this is impressive. btw, i’ve had fresh and frozen cycles. i was even more impressed when dr stone managed to get a good embryo out of a frozen embryo after thawing when it was frozen and transferred from a different facility. excellent embryology lab headed by dr. stone. a bonus dr. stone is also easily approachable and easy to talk to and has good sense of humor.
phlebotomists are friendly and nice but dear lord all they do the whole day is draw blood and process the blood for the testing. i’ve never had a single blood draw when it did not hurt or bruise. well, i lied, one time dr. stone had to fill in for the phlebotomist and i didn’t i can have it good (didn’t even know he drew my blood) until i had had him. no offense to the phlebotomists but if they do this the whole day, i expect their techniques to get better and less pain and bruising. just to put things into perspective, when i had my IV done by the nurse prior to egg retrieval, the pain from the IV going in was less painful if not as painful and the IV needles are larger.
front girls/​receptionist — they are like robots. they say hi, go there, go there next, pay this, beyond that they have no personality.
back nurses — nice nurses, they listen and explain things really carefully, they’ll answer your questions as best as they can. i like them along with dr. stone and his staff.
billing people — are also nice and understanding. they are more personable than the front office/​receptionist.
finally, my doctor, the reproductive endocrinologist. very disappointed. first of all, the doctor doesn’t put gloves on during examination or ultrasound. doesn’t even wash the hands before or after seeing me other than using purell. this gave me the ‘eek’ factor. the doctor didn’t explain what is going on with the treatment. i was told how my follicles are growing but in terms of the treatment, the changes and what have you, no explanation at all. all vague responses. didn’t give me the confidence and more importantly, ARENT I PAYING for you to explain things to me? if i do have a questions, i was always directed to the nurse. there is no way in hell i can get a hold of my doctor on the phone even if the nurses are nice, but lets face it they ARE NOT my doctor. not once did i get a call back from my doctor and good luck with email… no email addresses are given.
this is my biggest disappointment. i’m paying out of my own pocket to get the BEST service and it seems like the doctor doesn’t see this. the fees are high. i expect better treatment/​service from my doctor. the worse of all is when my cycle didn’t work and i didn’t get pregnant. i asked if there is anything else we can do and all i was told is to use donor eggs, no additional encouragement, no emotions, sympathy. i felt like my husband and i were alone. if you remember, my embryos all looked good out of dr. stone’s great hands.
the clinic was cold. sure it seemed busy but cold. it didn’t feel relaxing at all. if not for me getting their name from an article written in LA magazine, I probably would not go here. no worth the $ 30,000.00 plus and time I put in.
