My favorite spot on Sunset Blvd for a mellow evening… Their revamped menu with all the organic and locally sourced ingredients is pretty amazing… Vegan/vegetarian substitutions are available if you ask for them… which, for me is key. Get the brussell sprouts and broccoli dishes! You will not want to share! The retro look of the lounge is beautiful and I LOVE the desert setting. Reminds me of being in Joshua Tree… Wednesday nights are my favorite… Free unplugged live folk music… It’s really The Sunset Strip at its best. Love this place!

This place was bad. Food was mediocre at best. The service was TERRIBLE… attitude from the waitress that turned heads. Serve yourself you own glass of water from the jug in the corner of the pool deck? Really? lol. It’s empty for Sunday brunch for a reason.

On the lobby level of The Standard Hotel, there are at least 3 restaurants on this floor. Cactus Lounge is just inside the outdoor patio restaurant, very casual, with wicker chairs. I order a medium rare burger, served with a mixed baby greens salad, along with horse radish mayo and ketchup. A big burger, toasted buns, medium rare as I requested. However, the burger patty was room temperature. Not too pleased for $ 14. I also ordered a pear lime cosmo which was pretty tasty. Nice service and staff. Even though I got parking validation, it was another $ 29 for valet parking. The valet guy misplaced the ticket and it took a while for someone to search for the car. Boo, 3 stars which is just«ok.»
