Coffee is pretty good but a bit on the pricey end. Good environment for studying or meeting up with friends. Staff can be friendlier, correction, a lot friendlier.

I like this place. The coffee is pretty good, and I like their different drinks. The space is nice and the wifi is reliable, too. And everyone, from the customers to the baristas, all look and dress the same. It’s like they all shop at the same place. It’s great to see things becoming homogenous again without real individuality. Makes me comfortable.

Some of the staff here are big jerks. The manager is the biggest jerk of all. He made me wait five minutes to count his drawer while I waited to pay. I said, «Hey can I pay for this, I have to get to a meeting?» he sighed and looked at me like as if I said, «Hey can I pay for this I have a meeting with George Clooney.» Like, I’m being a snooty dick because he couldn’t get his shit together? Damn dude, I legit have shit to do! The staff used to be nice here when they first opened but they probably all got cast in TV shows at this point so they peace’d out. The coffee is still decent, but not as good as Caffe Vita down the street. I’m going to give them a five star review. And it’s spelled BrEW assholes.

Today I stood in line here for over 10 minutes with three people in front of me, and two behind me. Two guys were working and cared more about wiping off the counter and doing things in the back rather than serve the customers. It’s happened here before, where the people working here will casually ignore you until they decide they are ready to serve… Well, sorry Bru, there are too many other great coffee places in this neighborhood to be treated so badly here. Done!

I came across this place after a big lunch 2 doors down(Palermo). This little gem caught my eye and my nose followed the trail in through the door. I like small independent coffee shops. The coffee was on point, and I later came back in for a Chi Tea. Now if Im in town, I make my way here after I eat.

Their $ 3.35 double espresso pours to less than an ounce and tastes like stomach acid — literally. 5 stars for their ability to travel from a parallel universe 10⁄10 would def come again

Would have given five stars but they were out of decaf AND soy. :/Still had a delicious taste though!

No smiles available behind the counter, even if you tip when you order. Not even ironic smiles.

Stayed at a hotel nearby and walked here to start the day of with cappuccino & croissants. The venue is nice and spacious. Music was to the loud side for my liking though. The coffee was really good the first time, but the second one I ordered was only above average good. But the pastries, oh the pastries! They where by far the best croissants I have had in the US. So good coffee & great pastries. Would visit again when nearby.

The Coffee is not so good. And the atmosphere is super quite. Its also very quiet and individualized. you feel bad to speak up or laugh, although the barista was nice and friendly.

Julia A’s review hit the nail on the head. I’ve been to Bru 4 times and not once have I received a genuine warm greeting or even a «Hello, how are you today» This place is very cold and sterile and the Baristas absolutely do act like they’re doing you a favor by talking to you. I went in just wanting a regular mint tea and all they had were looseleaf blends. I tried the only one that had spearmint in it and it was terrible; bitter, flowery and just not good at all. I went back to ask if they had plain mint tea in just a regular tea bag and both people behind the counter looked at me like I had 10 heads. Maybe I’m a little too sensitive but I left feeling extremely awkward and even embarrassed. I ended up going to Coffee Bean up the street where I was greeted warmly and ordered a Moroccan Mint tea from them. If you’re looking for that small, friendly coffeehouse experience, do yourself a favor and skip Bru. you won’t find it here.

Maaaaan your staff is the worst, Goldilocks was lucky I didn’t say anything and just smile and(unlike him) stay extremely polite aka the BASICS«hello, how are you, thank you». Please do your job, if you’re unhappy to serve coffee get out of here you pretentious prick

I wish i can give no star. I just had a iced vanilia latte and found some weird things inside of the drink. Disgusted. This wasn’t a first time visiting. but will never come back here. They need to do keep their equipment cleaner than this. I just wasted my 5 dollars.

Good products, but overall I wished there was less hype and more food. The staff acts like they’re doing a favor to be talking to you. And there’s some weird items — tea that tastes like coconut oil and lavender lemonade… It would be nice to find more ‘normal people’ items too.

I was near the Griffith Park area to do some business, and needed 2 things: caffeine and wifi. Knowing many places have both, I referred to my life-saving Unilocal app. Bru pops up. About a mile away from where I was, good coffee, free wifi … I was quickly on my way. Ordered a cappuccino and it was waiting for me at the counter faster than I can get settled at the table. The coffee was smooth, but did not have that bold finish I always crave. According to the cashier, they use Virtual Roasters from SF. It’s a mild to medium roast, but I will definitely get a caffeine buzz she promised. Nope! I ended up yawning quite a bit. Did they secretly use decaf on me as a joke? The place has 2 levels, with a loft like upstairs area that has a few tables. In the middle of the café is a communal table, and is surrounded by several smaller 2 seaters. Art by independent artists are displayed on the walls. Though more people came in as I sat there, the place remained quiet, as if everyone is in deep concentration. The cashier who promised me the caffeine buzz(though she lied) was very nice. Fellow customers appeared friendly as they exchange warm smiles & nods. This is a nice quiet place to get a cup of «not too strong» coffee and get some thinking done. If I’m in the area and need wifi again, I just might pop in here. But I do hope for a stronger blend.

Finding myself in Los Feliz for probably the first time, on foot, not in a car, I came across Bru Coffeebar. I was very surprised to find such an open space for a coffee bar, that isn’t packed to the brim with loads of people jonesing for coffee. Lots of seating, and delicious Ritual coffee on brew and for espresso. For all the people present and filling the seats, it wasn’t really loud. It was pretty peaceful, with people doing work, catching up with friends, or just relaxing on a lazy Sunday afternoon. I definitely know where to stop by the next time I’m in the area.

Cute wifi junkie spot, for reading, writing, catching up with another. Lots of two seaters, has an upstairs are, plenty of sun light. $ 4 ice coffee, free soy, bit pricey for drinks. Decent/okay wifi speed, faster than slow or nonexistent wifi at H Coffee shop. Small outdoor patio area. Limited one outlet area downstairs near espresso machine or upstairs first visible table area. Beautiful abstract wall arts bu Cindy Hsu Zell. Located by open Crossfit venue and across from House of Pie.

Well I went here because I really wanted this pastry that they didn’t end up having. Should I have checked about this before hand? Yes. BUT I LIVEONTHEEDGE. Anyway then I felt awkward and like I should get something since I was in there and I’m easily pressured. Got an iced latte… honestly too much milk. Maybe I’m a cappuccino person and this whole thing was my fault. I’ll probably be back to try it again and hope for this pastry I want.

3.5 stars I came at Sat evening and the space was pretty empty. There were plenty of tables incl a picnic style table, but no power sockets if that’s important to you. It is to me so a modest rating for Bru. There are about 15 tea leaves to choose from if you’re looking for a finer selection than your regular spot. Mine was served in a pot for one $ 4. It was a refreshing brew with that tannin that good tea has. P. s. Unusually for a coffee shop the place was warm inside… I normally the a/c is set at freezing in my usual spots. Not here. This may not be a good thing if you like the chill environment.
