Words cannot describe how delicious these pies are. Can’t get enough of these 5″ pastries that are small enough for a big bite but heavy enough with so much flavor and ingredients to fill your appetite. Though I would suggest go for seconds. Cherry on the top, owner is a sweet heart!

I recently catered office lunch for 35 employees from Samantha at Bronzed Aussie and had a lovely experience. Not only was she super friendly and responsive, everyone loved the pies and rolls. Their crust is amazing, and everyone at the office(many of whom were skeptical about my idea to have Australian food for Australia Day) LOVED the meal. She even threw in a few Anzac bikkies, which are something I really miss about Melbourne. To top it off, delivery was on time and made with a smile, something I really appreciate after bad lunch delivery experiences elsewhere. I can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu.

I’ve been here a few times and tried a few things now and everything is really tasty. The crust is delicious and doesn’t distract from the equally delicious filling. I’ve had the Lamb pie, the Meat pie and the Veggie Brekkie pie. All delectable treats! I suggest a nice layer of sriracha sauce on the Veggie Brekkie to give it a little kick. As for price, I think the price point is right on. If I can get a filling breakfast or lunch downtown for under $ 10 I’m a happy camper. I can walk there so parking is a non issue. And the service is always with a smile. I would call ahead if you were looking for one thing in particular. I got in half hour after they opened and snagged the last two veggie breakfast pies. So of your coming from afar give them a ring and they will make what you want for you. But they have so many delicious options, getting something other than what your went in for might actually turn out to be a good thing! Next time I drop by, I’m gonna check out dessert and coffee because it sounds like that’s on point as well.

was reminiscing and craving a chicken/bacon/mushroom hand pie that i had in New Zealand so dropped by and tried their version of the chicken bacon mushroom i liked the crust a lot — super flaky and buttery but the chicken was dry i couldn’t taste the bacon at all and very little mushroom or gravy i hear the thai curry chicken is the best one maybe i’ll try that next time

Delicious! I had the lamb pie and a side salad with avocado. The lamb pie was delectable! The side salad was fresh and delicious but a little over-priced. Can’t wait to try all the other pies now, yum!

I love the little yellow sponge cakes covered in chocolate and dried coconut. They’re called Lamingtons. They’re so good. The owner is super nice and the staff is always cool. It’s a great place to meet for coffee and just chill. I thought it was a little pricy at first, but everything is fresh and is made in house. So it is a good value. I’m hoping that my business luck changes soon, so I can go back.

The. Best. Thing. You. Will. Everrrrr Taste!!! I cannot tell you how badly I crave these meat pies DAILY! I have tried every flavor. Bomb! Vegan tofu curry, Pepper Steak and ground beef with ketchup are my faves. Beyond flavorful, perfectly spiced, moist inside, soft flakey crust outside. Yum! My mouth is watering writing this. Flavor memory is powerful! The coffee is rich and perfect. The ANZACBISCUITS literally make me drool. I must admit, when I first moved to downtown LA, I came here every single day and gained 15 pounds finding comfort in this delicious food. To top ALL of that off, Samantha Bryan, the owner, is the most genuine, endearing, kind, hard working, inventive, powerful, beautiful human you’ve ever met. Must go, must go, MUSTGOOOOO!

My first time trying Australian meat pies and we were hooked. //LOCATION //In the less gentrified area of DTLA in an alley. Look for signs on the building that point you down the alley //SERVICE //Excellent and incredibly charming, complete with Aussie accent. Order at the counter and seat yourself in the small restaurant. //FOOD // + Ground beef meat pie: Flavorful and juicy. The crust was perfectly buttery and flaky. + Veggie pie: The meat pie sans meat did not take away from the flavor. The veggies were creamy and the crust was very tasty.

The hype is 100% legit. I had the lamb cause it was the lady/owner’s recommendation and I was blown away. The texture is so wonderfully flaky and there was actually a substantial amount of meat inside(inside is kind of like a stewed lamb without all the liquid). The ingredients really work in concert with each other and I distinctly remembering taking my first bite smiling and saying to myself, «Whoa.» On the day I went, the owner was giving out free samples of mashed potato and holy crap that just added another dimension to the pie and it blew my mind when I combined everything. I was so excited after my first pie that I bought a frozen beef pie to save myself the walk and ate it the next morning. Bake at 325 for 45 min and it’s literally just as flaky and just as good as it was in the store. I think I’ve found my go-to spot for brekkie

Finally checked this place off my list! Only because parking is impossible and frustrating in this area. Ended paying $ 7 for all day which pays for itself after 2 hours since metered parking is $ 4. There’s also a shady $ 5 garage. What makes the Bronzed Aussie delightful is the owner/chef. She greeted us with great pleasure while pull out fresh pies. She made recommendations and provided great service. She explained that you put ketchup on top of the beef pie and eat it with your hands. It was delightful! My boyfriend got the thai curry which I believed he enjoyed. The blueberry dessert pie was a wonderful surprise with warm jelly in the middle. We were in love. Would love to try the breakfest pie next time.

The best coffee I’ve ever had. Flat white with almond milk. So good! I shared the chicken, mushroom & bacon pie and a spinach and feta roll. I loved that there was heaps of spinach in the roll with a light and flaky crust. Really hit the spot. The pie was equally delightful. I’m not a bacon fan in general but there was just enough for the perfect amount of salty goodness to compliment the filling. It was a great place for a quick lunch. Store window and address can be seen from the street, but the entrance is in the alley. I would go out of my way to return next time I am in town! Love their accents too. The owner, Samantha, is from NSW, and one of the baristas is from QLD. I was staying at a hotel in the area and used their car service instead of looking for parking but I did notice a few lots in the immediate area.

This review is way overdue– This place is a little hidden gem in DTLA. Located in a little alley between shops, apartments, eateries and other tall buildings. You would never see it unless you were looking for it. My husband and I were running late(as usual) to a show and we needed something quick and nearby to tide us over until after the show. Parking was very tricky. No lot so you need to look for metered parking on the street, not easy on a weekend in DTLA so we walked a couple blocks. No biggie. When we got to the shop it was closed! So early on the weekend?! If you’re coming here be sure to check the hours. Fortunately for us the owner was still there with a couple of her employees(and son?). What a NICE staff! She unlocked the door, welcomed us in and did NOT make us feel bad or guilty. She told us what she had left and let us take our time ordering. No rushing at all. Are all Aussies this nice??! They even went the extra, extra mile and explained how the pies are meant to be eaten(no untencils, with ketchup!) and even showed us a YouTube video that one of the guys made to show America exactly how to eat an Aussie pie :) We ordered the Original and the Chicken with Bacon and Mushroom and a couple of sodas. Lamingtons for dessert. The pies were delicious and satisfying. Flakey crust, fillings were creamy and delicious. Lamingtons a tad dry but had never had one before so maybe they’re meant to be. Stil tasty. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars and not 5 is limited parking due to location and limited hours BUT customer service was OUTSTANDING and makes up for it. Thanks Bronzed Aussie(s), you make me want to be a nicer person. Lol! Will be back!

Another must try in DTLA. The pie crust is as good as it gets– I am in awe, as someone who sucks at baking. I prefer savory to sweet, so the fact that I can enjoy meat with pie crust makes me giddy. Ground beef and lamb are my favorites but I still need to try breakfast, because they sound and look mouth watering. All of the meat pies taste great with ketchup. Last time I came, I had a sample of mashed potatoes/gravy and dang gurl, that shiz is GOOD. If you are in the area, pick up a few of these to easily reheat at home for a unique treat! Enter from the alley on Los Angeles Street, just south of 7th!

Yummy but pricy. We’ve driven by Bronzed Aussie before and decided to try it for Sunday breakfast/brunch this past weekend. Located in the Santee Lofts building, but a little out of the way in a small alley. Very cute area! There are a few other eateries and shops in the alleyway and if you walk further down, you can check out the courtyard for the Lofts. We got the chicken bacon mushroom pie, which was very creamy and flavorful! Kinda like chicken pot pie, but with different ingredients. The crust was flaky and buttery. Also tried the veggie brekkie pie, which was kinda like a quiche — eggs, spinach, mushroom, onions and potato. Each pie was $ 7+ so definitely on the pricier side! The owner is super nice and friendly and has a lovely Australian accent! They also serve coffee and desserts and there’s also tables outdoors if you want to eat outside. Condiments and water are self serve. I think my main reason for not returning would be the prices :(

Okay now I really love living in LA bc we have meat pies from australia ?! Now I’ve never had a meat pie nor have I been to Australia. But these meat pies here at bronzed aussie are pretty darn aussome if I say so myself. It’s hidden in a little alley and it’s a small store. My friend and I got the sausage brekkie(more like a quiche), ground beef meat pie, salad, and their egg tart. Everything was divine! They even threw in mashed potatoes for us and those were also very flavorful and we’ll seasoned. The meat pie was flaky and went well with the savory filling(there was so skimping on the filling) top it off with some ketchup and sriracha and go to town!(Rejoice they have sriracha) The egg tart was a wonderful end to our meal! It resembles the Chinese egg tart(Dan hat) at dim sum except this one is cold and more creamy! So good I bought one more to take home! Love love this place and can not wait to take everyone here !!(:

From the sheer volume of good reviews, I knew my fellow Unilocalers were onto something! I ordered the following: *Veggie Brekkie: This was more like a huge quiche with potato, tomato, spinach, onion & mushroom. Hearty and delicious with lots of stuffin’ *Thai Chicken(Chicken breast in a spicy, fresh green curry, green pepper, cilantro, lime & coconut milk): I loved this! The green curry was on point. For those afraid of spice, not really spicy at all but plenty of flavor. Both feature crusts that are delightfully buttery and flakey. Marie Callendar’s can’t even touch this. These bad boys set me back ~$ 15($ 7.90 each) but they’re hefty and can definitely be shared or saved for an addt’l meal! My only complaint is that they have limited hours. By the time I can make it there, they’re closed!

If you never eat another chicken pot pie in your life, you’ll die with a smile on your lips if you’ve tasted the Bronze Aussie’s Thai chicken curry pie. Without a doubt, it’s the best I’ve ever eaten. The curry is so mild, it’s negligible, but there is so much savory goodness in their incredibly golden, flaky crust. This pie is tanned and lovely as a model who spent their day on Sydney’s Bondi Beach. The pastry is improbably light and airy, yet resilient. At no time do you bite into it only to have it fall apart. They have a counter and few chairs inside and out, but there is a lovely courtyard down the alley with a waterfall and an adjacent deli that sells beer. Put a bit of Red Rooster Louisiana hot sauce on your pie, get grapefruit Steigl beer, and enjoy the best of all possible worlds.

Have you ever met an Australian you didn’t like? I haven’t: fun, personable, cool in a possibly-descended-from-a-criminal kind a way(who doesn’t like that bad boy vibe?), the people you definitely would want to party with. But Australian food? Who knew there even was such a thing? Not me. I’d vaguely thought that, like its chefs, Australian food must be descended from that blandest and most-maligned cuisine in the world: the English, a cuisine whose main saving grace is perhaps fish and chips(or maybe bangers and mash, mostly for the name. Oh, wait: Welsh rarebit. That stuff is the bomb.) And it’s true: the Australian meat pie as served at Bronzed Aussie is a quintessentially English dish in construction. But there the resemblance ends. THESE meat pies are bursting with flavor, little masterpieces of perfectly flaky pie crust filled with deliciously seasoned filling which does not compromise the integrity of the crust. Intended to be eaten by hand, that just didn’t seem possible for me, especially when doused with ketchup as the locals do it. I was tempted to lick my knife and fork, folks. It’s only been a few hours since I had my first one and I’m already craving another! And the coffee!!! I had a flat white which was a revelation. I expressed shock at how good it was, having had several of the Starbucks flat whites which were blah. The extremely friendly, personable and helpful young man who served me(Australian accent, natch) told me that there is a reason that Starbucks never really caught on down under. There is a very strong coffee culture there, with excellent coffee everywhere, so that niche was filled. Maybe that’s why Australians are always so happy. Prices are reasonable. One pie filled me up. Street parking(meters.) This would be the perfect place to stop in for lunch or coffee if you’re in the Fashion District. Good onya, mate!
