Love this place! I was craving a breakfast burrito that was not on the menu and they whipped it up for me. Burrito was delicious, hash browns were amazing!

I found out about this place as I was moving out of the valley, so I’ve only tried it once. I got the philly cheesesteak and it was really good. The meat was super fresh and dripping with cheese. It was really hot despite the fact that I took it to go. The owners were nice and offered me a free drink while I waited since it was my first visit there. I would eat here again and recommend it to a friend.

Oh my goodness, the most amazing Philly ever! And the best service to boot. The people that own and run the place are so friendly and welcoming, you feel like you’re eating with family. My boyfriend tried the hotdog too and said it is to die for. I crave this place almost every day! Plus you get to leave your mark by writing on their wall which is fun :)

Food Solid! Price for food value is good… but that’s the good part. After losing my friend’s order they proceeded to argue with her. Then, rather than give her the first Philly Cheese off the grill, they filled two group orders before making her order. Needless to say, our party was done eating before it arrived. They did comp her lunch but she didn’t need the extra side of attitude with her combo.

I was in LA this weekend, and based on the reviews of Unilocal,I just had to find this place. I was a bit dissappointed to find out that this Grill was located in a food court(someplace that I would usually try to avoid). Both the son and I got the Philly Cheesesteak combos. I was also dissappointed to find that they didn’t have the special«chips» that I had read so much about. They actually aren’t on the menu, and are only served by special request«when» they have potatoes, which of course they didnt. Bummer! The Phillys were pretty sizeable, and filled with tasty meat, and onions. The cheese that they used combined with the juices of the meat kinda made a watery mess in the bottom of the tray, but the flavor was definitely good.

The Good: WOW!!! This has to be the best street dog that I have ever had. They are huge, thought I was opening a sub sandwich. This is my first time trying them out and it wont be the last. The Bad: None

Wow Mom, I’m home… The food is GREAT. I ordered the Philly cheese with mushrooms and onions. And I ordered the chips… please order the chips when you go. I’m from Chicago and have eaten quite a few cheese steaks in Philly and Chicago and this place has it dead on. The two owners are the nicest people out here in the Valley. Steve and Craig are good people and really know how to make a really GREAT sandwich to boot. Oh and by the way, if you’re like me and you want your food HOT from the grill to your table, this is your place. I burnt my tongue on the cheese and I loved it. Now that’s how you do food… Da Blue Collar Grill is Da Best.

I was really looking forward to finding a decent Italian beef sandwich in LA, especially in the Valley, so I wouldn’t have to drive to Portillo’s in OC or fly to Chicago. So when I found BCG on Unilocal, and read the fantastic reviews, I was very excited! Unfortunately, the Italian beef is just not right. They use the wrong cut of beef, they slice it wrong, they season it wrong(it barely tasted like a hint of sweet basil and oregano… BARELY), there were no green peppers, the giardiniera was really just some small pickled jalapeños. Also, it took WAAAAAAAYY too long to get the order, and it was well after the lunch rush. Seriously, a IB sand shouldn’t take more than a few minutes to make, I waited almost 20 minutes for it. VERYDISAPPOINTING to say the least. ONESTAR. What was good about BCG is the bread used on the sandwich, not quite an Italian sandwich roll, but A very close French roll replica. Tasty still. Also, the people there are very friendly, good crowd of customers and the employees made it enjoyable. TWOSTARS. If you are a stoner in the Valley looking for some seriously fatty, greasy, cheesy, deep fried grub, this is your spot. If you want a real authentic Italian Beef in So. Cal., this is not the place. Drive to Portillo’s in OC and get a beef /Maxwell Polish combo with peppers.

I came here for one reason: Philly Cheese steak. I love cheese, and I love steak and one can never go wrong combining the two things they love. They have all kinds of things here like burgers, fries, hot dogs, chili fries, etc… but all I wanted and all I got was their cheese steak. I did enjoy it, I thought it was delicious. Only mistake I made though was that I took it home. Even though I live about 5 minutes away, the bread(and even fries) were soaked and soggy by the time I got home. That didn’t stop me though, I still devoured it with fury. Oh and in doing so burned my mouth beyond use. Even with my taste buds and tongue out of commission I still enjoyed it, so maybe that says something…

This is my first time writing a review about anything… but I feel particularly called to write about this place, 1. I’m from Philly and I am always craving the perfect steak sandwich and 2. I’m picky, and 3. I know Unilocal helps people like me navigate where to go — so I want to give back. Blue Collar Grill is an unassuming hole-in-the-wall within an unimpressive strip in Canoga Park. I just happened to walk by and decided to give it a try. The decorum was intriguing if not rough — urban red walls with writings of rave reviews all over — so I thought this could be promising. There are a few small tables — very cramped. I took my sandwich to go. The wait was longer than expected — probably 10 minutes, which is a lot considering I get 60 for lunch. The price was fair — $ 7 for the steak sandwich, which includes cheese, sautéed onions, peppers and mushrooms. Good portion! When I got to the office — a short walking distance away — I discovered my sandwich was drenched in grease inside the paper-lined box! The roll, which was not the advertised Amarosa roll, as they ran out — was soggy! Outside of that rather distracting messiness, it was tasty. It tasted pretty darned authentic! Next time, I will order ahead and ask that they drain the sandwich before placing it into the box. It always helps to be proactive. Also, I discovered, come in before Wednesday, as Wednesday nights he gets swamped and runs out of rolls! I hope that helps!

First of all let me say that I am a die-hard philly cheesesteak fan. I have had them in Philly and in Chicago and I’m a pretty tough judge of what’s good. Just meat and cheese on a roll does not a philly make. That being said, I LOVE Blue Collar Grill. The guys running it are the nicest guys you will ever meet, their food is spot-on and delivered to your table(or office) with a smile. They seem genuinely pleased that you chose to have lunch with them. As for the food, I had the philly and the fresh potato chips. The sandwich was a large portion, but I had to eat every bite. The white american cheese was like molten lava, permeating the sandwich with its gooey goodness. The beef was nicely cooked and chopped(not just sliced) and the sandwich includes mushrooms, onions and peppers(as it should.) The fresh chips were hot and crispy and large enough for the table to share. Earlier reviews said that they only have canned soda, but there is a soda fountain if you dine in, as well as sweet and unsweet tea. The prices include tax, which makes ordering and paying easy. Sandwiches are $ 5.50−7, which is more than reasonable for what you get. If I could give them more stars, I would. I’ll be back to try their beef sandwich but I will have a hard time not getting the philly every time. The fact that I work nearby means I’m going to have to up the workouts… but it’s worth it.

If I could give this place ten stars, I would! Don’t let the exterior fool you, this is the best place for a Philly i’ve ever been too. The owners are awesome guys and had great service– the Philly was huge and pouring over with mounds of fresh steak, onions, peppers, and the best American cheese sauce– paired with excellent home-made kettle chips. You gotta try this place!

It’s true, the cheesesteak is amazing. It’s the best I’ve had. Granted, I’ve never had one in Philadelphia, but this is as good as west coast cheesesteak gets. The owner seems very nice and is always appreciative of my loyalty(I’ve ordered about 4 times since I heard about it less than 2 weeks ago. I have to say though, the management can sometimes be a bit unprofessional. When I went there the first time, it was 2pm on a weekday and there was a sign on the door«setting up kitchen, back at 5pm» — so that was weird — and irked me a bit. Then I called the next day for delivery — it turns out they charge $ 5 for delivery, which is way too much considering I live 3 city blocks away. Then I called on a Saturday around 1pm — nobody answers. I call again around 3 — nothing. So I figure«Ok maybe the ‘Back at 5′ sign is up again» and I call back around 5pm — still nothing.(Why was I calling them all day and not just eating somewhere else… the cheese steak is just that good.) I run into this issue with small businesses a lot. They’re only open when they feel like being open. There’s no consistency. The food gets 5 stars — the management gets 3 stars just for how polite they are when they are open.

This is THEBEST place! Not just eat but to treat your taste buds to the most savory grub you’ve ever eaten! I’ve had their Philly Cheese steak, Chicago & L.A. dogs, Cheeseburger(grilled onions), Chili Cheese Fries & Potatoes chips! Of course not in one visit but I’m determined to try everything on their menu cuz I know everything will be DEEE-LICIOUS!!! What’s adds to the pleasing taste of their food is the great family that serves it up! When they are not cooking they’re out making us feel like like we’re a part of their family. I love going there cuz it’s like home away from home. PLEEEEZE go there cuz the place is as incredible as there edibles!!!

One of San Fernando Valley’s hidden treasures! There’s a good amount of things for me that make a great place to chow down. The two biggest ones are friendliness and GREAT food(of course!) This place has both! I just had their Philly Cheese steak sandwich with a side of fries which both were great! the sandwich was so cheesy my mouth watered with no exaggeration. Despite the fries were a little too salted that didn’t bother me as ketchup has always been my best friend. They were also very friendly. The owner told me how the place came about and why it’s called the Blue Collar Grill(ask him! Very interesting stuff!) Check it out :] for the price, it’s great! PS! If you owners are reading this. I challenge you guys to make a «Challenge» type meal for your restaurant :] It will attract people. Example: Behemoth sized PhillyCheeseSteak, or Eat the burger, the cheesesteak, the chicago sandwich and chilly cheesefries in under 15min or something: D

AHHHHMAZING. This place is super legit. Best Cheesesteak I have had… hands down. I fancy myself quite the chef, and I don’t think I could recreate this goodness, nor would I try. The bread was super moist, cheese super melty, veggies perfectly sauteed, and the meat was perfectly tender. Does it get any better? Oh, yes it does… homemade potato chips. They are like thick cut kettle chips, and the owners are so awesome(like really awesome), they threw them in for free! As my co-worker said, you know it’s gonna be good if they line the to go box with foil. A must try!

I saw the ad in LA Weekly, free chips and a can of soda with the purchase of a Philly Cheesesteak. And any business that manages to use the words«free» and«cheesesteak» in the same sentence is going to see me walking through the door. The cheesesteak is only $ 6.00(including tax) and is a good deal at that price. Mushrooms, onions and red bell peppers are already included in that price, so there are no add-ons. They are made fresh to order. It was served on a bakery bun. Not the Amarosa roll one would expect, but the next best thing. Now if I had read the ad carefully, I would have seen that the free soda and chips special was only from 3 to 5 on weekdays, but the nice lady split the difference with me. The Coke Zero and the chips were a dollar each, so even though it was lunchtime on a Saturday, she gave me one of them for free. The chips were homemade, and were served in a big basket. everyone of them was crispy and warm. One drawback is they don’t have a soda fountain. It’s canned sodas only. Hopefully they will add a fountain soon. True to its name the Blue Collar Grill isn’t a place you want to take your vegan friends. This is a place for those of our species who are proud to be the top of the food chain. Next time, I want to try the Italian beef sandwich or maybe the chili size. They also have several hot dogs on the menu, apparently all from Vienna beef. While they have some New York photos on the walls, most are from Chicago, Philadelphia or the owners original hometown Pittsburgh — -three cities where it’s easy to find good working guy American food.

This place is the real deal American meal! Good food of any type in Canoga Park and the west valley has been sorely lacking, but especially great Americana. If it’s burgers, Philly Cheese-steak and gourmet dogs that you want or need, this is the place. And it’s not just good food. It’s great! And at a really good price for what you get. I have had two Philly cheese-steak sandwiches, Two burgers, and the Italian Beef Dip sandwich. All were fantastic. I couldn’t be happier to have this place open up in my town. The location certainly made me raise an eyebrow when I saw the sign go up. I would not have been surprised to see the 10,000th Taquería or another Indian place. There is plenty of parking for now, unless they get really popular. Walking through the door is like walking through a portal from Mexifornia to maybe Chicago. Not that I don’t love my multi-cultural ‘hood, it’s just nice to get away now and then without taking a jet. I think it is supposed to be a Chicago theme and it certainly does make you feel like you are not in Canoga Park anymore. I thank them for that. I’m a big fan and I wish them success. The owners are doing the work and are super nice and attentive. They obviously care about their labor of love and care about providing a great meal.
