Came here for their halloween event and it was thee saddest halloween event ever. They advertised a number of available dance floors here, but they were so awkward. It was small and sprinkles of people dancing. The rides were pathetic. The only busy place was the main dance floor inside, but even that was not fun. Music sucked. Lights sucked. Will never come back to their halloween party. Should’ve just gone to a regular la club

The inside was actually somewhat nice, but I still wouldn’t come back. There’s an awkward dance space between all the booth so you have to be careful not to accidentally touch anybody’s space that they paid for. I might just came on a Thursday, but stayed until midnight and it wasn’t packed. They do bring out go-go dancers with hypnotizing bodies if that’s something for you gentlemen to look forward to, otherwise I wouldn’t recommend coming here unless you already have an established crowd that you’re coming with because I didn’t really want to meet the randoms here.

I’m torn with this place. I loved the music that they played the Friday night we went, but they sure do pack this place to the brim. I’m sure if the fire marshall came in he/she would have to shut this place down because it is just way too crowded. We did have a table for the night but for the 15 of us that were at the table it was basically standing room only. We were so close to the party next to us that we kept bumping into them throughout the night. Women as usual do expect a line for the bathroom as there are only 2 stalls for the whole place. Attire for the place, seems pretty laid back/casual.

Went there on a Friday night. I knew a promoter so did not have to wait at all, plus got free drinks. The DJ played good music, basically hip hop– he played the latest stuff too. Not super big, but it was a good enough size(a bit bigger than MyStudio), and there was a «dance area». Bathrooms were crowded. Rather good looking people, mixed crowd. Overall, fun night. I’d recommend :)

The music was ok, but it was too crowded or people just like to rub against you. I had to bump people away because they were that close. The female bartenders are a**holes, unfriendly, and give you service with a constipated look. All the staff except for the females there need to be replaced. They will make your night go sour. You could not pay me to go back in there!

I Went On Friday To The Blok For The First Time and It Was Extremely Boring And Ghetto. I Went To The Bar And Ordered 1 Ciroc Peach On The Rocks and 1 Ciroc Redberry On The Rocks And The Bartender Gave Me A Lil Under A Shot Each Drink Was $ 13 Not Worth It Tried The Other Bar In The Patio Area And It Was The Same Experience. The Bartenders Are Not Friendly No Wonder People Weren’t Drinking Normally Im Fighting Through A Large Crowd To Get A Drink Not This Time Empty Bar. I Was So Bored That I Paid The Bouncer So He Can Let Me Cross To Eden(Which Is NextDoor Same Building) Which Was Well Worth It Although I Wasn’t At Eden For That Long It Was Still 100 Times Better Than The Blok! Damn You Unilocal Making Me Put A Star You Guys Need To Fix That

My friends and I decided to have a girls night out on a Thursday night and we all decided on Blok(well, the birthday girl decided on Blok because it was hip-hop night). I LOVE hip-hop and so I was on board! We know a promoter who is able to get us into various night clubs around West Hollywood and surrounding areas and he was able to get us reservations for that night. We arrived at Blok at 11pm after having some cocktails at Aventine. It was pretty packed at the front and we had to wait about twenty minutes or so to set up bottle service. The security guards outside had me cracking up! They weren’t jackasses like other security guards at other establishments. The club itself is very nice, as part of it is open to the elements and the rest is under a roof. The bathrooms are impeccably clean and beautiful.(Clean bathrooms are always a plus in my book). Bartenders are also friendly! I’m taking off one star because the DJ that night was not that great. I was expecting more variety!

Beware of the Asian hostesses at the door. They will lie about everything to con your money for«cover». We had 16 comps for booking a table and we only used 13. I was a little late, when I showed up at the door all my friends were inside. I was lied to by an Asian lady with a straight face that we used all the comp passes. Overheard that she was laughing at me for agreeing to give her $ 20 to get in. Later that night I tried to confront them for the shady business, they told me I was charged because it was past 12am. Liars liars, liars don’t even practice because they were born that way.

Went to Blok 8 Nightclub last night. It’s a really small-sized club. Similar to MyStudio. In fact, the layouts of the two clubs are almost identical. The club was empty till about 11:30−12. At that hour, more people started to hit the dance floor. The music was decent, top 40’s. The décor is elegant and modern as is the décor of other SBE night clubs. Parking was about 10 dollars in the public lot. The plus side to this small club is that while there was a decent-sized crowd, there was still plenty of room in-between people. It’s not like one of those huge clubs where you can’t move on the dance floor because it’s so packed.

I came on a night when they opened both clubs so this place was spacious! I’m not sure what the name for the other part is so ya… I mean, this is def a step up from Crimson/Opera! I also went on Asian night… just saying. I’m sure you can find GL and arrive early and get in depending on which promotion company. The layout is still pretty similar. There’s an outdoor portion that you walk thru to get on the inside. There is a bar on one side and then you walk into a huge room of tables! There were hot gogos dancing so that was nice. There is a small dance floor but then you head to the other club and there’s a pretty big dance floor with an elevated DJ booth. I can foresee some intimate shows with great DJs here. They also updated the lights and fog machines, etc… all the necessities. Haha. There are also tables all around with another bar and a bathroom on this side. I actually like this facilities on this side because I think the line moves faster. Drinks are normal for this area… Parking is a pain, but just park in the lots around the area or taxi. It’s a pretty cool place to check out when both sides are open!

Came here last Thursday night with my boyfriend after having a nice dinner a block over. Our friend was the Headlining DJ(Just-Incredible) so we figured let’s check it out. We walked over at around 11:45 ish we were to meet up with Justin and friends and walk right in with them. As we waited there were very rude security guards outside, a lot of people just in a bunch outside the entrance, even TOOSHORT wasn’t getting let in really? We patiently waited our friends arrived and we walked right in the entrance was cute but overall the clubs structure was bleeehhh. There was one dance floor in the center of the club in a square shape with bottle tables all around, so everyone who didn’t have table service was basically mingling on the dance floor. They had girls(not cute) walking around selling $ 10 dollar shooters that for sure took about 3 $ to make, the same girl kept coming around flirting with my boyfriend and I it was soooo annoying like DUDE get the hell away we don’t want your«shooter» she just kept insisting so we got one so she could go away. By now it was about 1 am and it was crowed with about 80% GUYS and 20% girls, mind you 75% of them were creepers! My boyfriend could not let me out of sight before some dude was pulling on me AND then to top the night there was this guy on the mic ALLLLLLLNIGGHHHHT throughout every DJ set, he wouldn’t SHUT up he was so annoying and DIDN’T know any of the lyrics. Rhianna’s Pour it up was on and he would sing TOREIT Up, the hell??? We got out of there right away. I will never come back here! Drinks were your typical 10 – 15 $

Came here 1 week after opening on a Saturday night. Felt like China & Vegas… but compacted into a claustrophic space. The club was über-crowded and sweltering hot! Music was a little bit of everything from electro to hip hop and top 40. Drinks were stiff, but I didn’t feel like I was getting ripped off. I would rate the place a 3.5 overall but I’m rounding down because there were some major fire hazards, and the club must have been way beyond the max capacity!

Eh. I’m mixed about this place. Had my Birthday celebration here this past weekend and was really expecting a lot more. Given my party was fun and awesome… which made the night amazing(plus drunken debauchery), from what I remember. i felt like the venue was so tiny. I was expecting a bigger dance floor, more space in general. I feel like maybe I missed part of the club? Did I not explore the entire space or was it really that tiny? Anyhow, bartenders were slow, music was okay, and overall just not the best place. Crowd was interesting. eh there are better clubs.

I never thought I’d say this, but I’ve found a club worse than Belasco. My friends had their birthday thang here and she put us on the guestlist. Even with the guestlist, the cover is $ 20. Ok, I can live with that if it’s the best club ever. But it was the shittiest club I’ve ever been to. There’s one main dance floor where everyone gathers and people that aren’t dancing just linger to the side which is usually what happens anyway but at 12:30, people were shuffling around like it was a middle school dance. And I don’t know if that’s a fire hazard but they have people smoking indoors. Since when did clubs start copying mainland China? The place was reminiscent of a cheap Vegas Casino or a bar from Mad Men except those actually still have class. The DJs had about as much skill as I did when I first found out about the shuffle feature on my iPod when I was a freshman in high school. Skip, skip, skip those beats. And some of the dudes were so sketch they were creeping me out man. Not to mention that there would be a loud explosion where a bunch of fog would fill the room. Now I know how a roach feels when it gets bombarded with insecticide.

Wow. This place used to be Opera/Crimson?! Way to step your game up. I’m loving the Vegas style club movement that’s going on in Los Angeles. First off, like any and every club… YMMV. I’m writing this based on the experience I had here last Saturday, and yes it was«Asian night». I generally dislike GoPro, but tonight they had their bearings together and getting in for me and my 4GUY friends on GL, was a breeze. Inside, well, inside is… sexy? Tables line the outskirts of a fairly spacious dark, hardwood recessed dancefloor. The lights inside are dim and red, which helps that«sexy» ambiance. I say spacious, generously; the club is still not the size of your Vegas mega clubs, but it’s big enough to never feel too claustrophobic. The DJ was playing your typical EDM hits of the moment. If they got some known DJ’s playing here, I’m pretty sure it would pop off. I guess there’s more to the club than what was open that night. Only two bars, one inside and one on the smoking«patio» were open. Drinks fared the normal Hollywood amount. With the option of taking body shots off wandering, unrealistically well endowed… shot women? Whatever they’re called, they’re hot and super friendly; you know their game, but good luck saying no, fellas. The crowd, like I mentioned previously, was Asian. Thankfully not as many broke, fobs at this club… but that could have just been this night. Honestly, there were a LOT of good looking, not-fobby Asian girls with a better than decent ratio.(Birthday girls from England: if you’re reading this… sorry I ditched you. Nothing personal. Happy birthday.) Like I said, YMMV, so you could probably take my review with a grain of salt. I’m not big on clubbing in Hollywood anymore, but if I were to… I’d happily come back to Blok. Keep your eyes peeled for an update…

I came here as part of a club crawl and I regret leaving the previous club because this one blew. Venue: Small club with a small dance floor. For a place with a small dance floor, I expect it to be packed on the floor, but it wasn’t even remotely full. That’s pretty sad. Crowd: Not impressed. The ratio of guys to girls was apalling. Music: Not much fun. The DJ played a few hits.

Erm, I’m not sure how this place got such great reviews… it’s VERY tiny, everyone smells like weed, and waaaay too many creepy guys hitting on you in the worst way possible. I saw some guy who was super drunk/high attempt to force a girl to dance with him several times, even after she pushed him away. His male friend had to finally step in and drag him away before he got in too much trouble. Music is okay… they play a big mix of everything, which can appeal to all crowds. There really isn’t much of a dance floor. all tables with the floors all around wet from drunken spills. On the bright side, the bathroom lady was very nice and efficient… and never a line for the bathroom – Just drunk girls trying to act sexy and dance on each other while you try to make your way(unsuccessfully) around them. Would I come here again? Most likely not. 1 star for the mediocre music and props to the fact that there is no bathroom wait, but nothing else.

After heading out to Blok for a friend’s birthday party, I mentally checked off the list of attributes that every hip Hollywood club seems to require as SOP: 1. Large bouncers at the door randomly frisking people — check 2. Guys paying $ 20/head, girls in free… even though we reserved a table with a four digit minimum spend — check 3. Being made to wait in line outside for 20 minutes to make the joint seem«popping» even though the inside of the club is as desolate as my ex’s conscience — check 4. Staff of pneumatic(props that they had some brunettes to round out the blondes) servers wearing bustiers, garter belts and in possession of a wide array of geometrically impossible hairstyles — check 5. 1000% markup on alcohol, although let’s be fair, you’re really paying for the real estate and not the actual liquor itself — check So why after running through this litany of annoyances did I give this establishment four stars? Because, all Hollywood clubs do these things, but I noticed that Blok did them extremely well. To wit, the bouncers outside were extremely burly and evinced a genuine aura of intimidation… which I personally think is good in encouraging violent drunks to maintain a semblance of control in pursuit of self preservation. Still, even though they made us wait in line outside, they joked around and helped ensure we weren’t getting too antsy… Guys paying $ 20 a head sucks, especially when already committing $ 1,000 minimum at the table, but at my age, I don’t mind another barrier to entry for broke ass jokers who inevitably bring their low socieconomic style nonsense into the club… AKA grinding girls with half erections from behind and getting them into«ultra bitch shield» mode. And I understand that the girls working at the clubs are supposed to be hot, but with that mindset, I was still very impressed by the talent level of the staff. I’m totally not into the Aryan goddess look, but when our resident waitress asked me something, I straight up replied, «I’m sorry, but I was way too busy checking you out to hear anything that you said. What’s up?» Oddly enough, she didn’t seem to mind… And besides, it was my friend’s birthday party, the music was relatively painless(although too loud for my tastes which is yet another indicator of my quickly advancing age) and there was a diverse mix of people all out on a Thursday night drinking and dancing. No fights, no drama, no throwing up = 4 stars in my book.
