Good food kind of like a French McDonalds on wheels! A little gassy though but its okay I was driving alone.

On the surface this looks like your typical food truck that will smash items between two pieces of bread in a hot press. You’ll probably be correct on that assessment of it, but on the flip side, it does offer a lot more than just that Take for example their kimchi chicken melt. It had all the fusion features of Kimchi in a meal and packed in enough taste to make it a good meal in itself and fulfilled the street food fusion fare. Not to mention that for the price it did hit the right flavor spots. But man can not live on cheese and kimchi alone, so I had to get me a panini and I went with the caprese mozzarella on ciabatta bread. Because really, that is the middle that will always be the true test on if it’s a good panini for me. Again, I do like the amount of food you’re getting from the truck for the price you’re paying. The service was pretty quick and while there wasn’t many people waiting, they still were able to fully get the order cranked out in the time I had for lunch. Well worth trying again if I see the truck somewhere close.

I love love love the fries at Bistro ala carte. They are fresh and delicious and great with no condiments. Whenever we head to Wilshire for lunch, my boyfriend religiously gets the Bistro burger. Its great to find food with French flare at a truck!

this truck showed up at my work, didn’t bring lunch that day didn’t feel like driving out for lunch so this was the only alternative. I was skeptical about the food as it was about 8 – 10 dollars for a sandwich that had fries in it. I got the bistro burger, it didn’t seem big enough to fulfill my hunger. I was wrong the garlic fries and the two super puny ground patties filled me up and the seasoning and sauce was amazing, these french guys can cook!

Day one of the Valley Food Truck Fest: I rush out of work so I can hit the food trucks, because I haven’t eaten all day in anticipation of the Food Truck event and I am starving. So I make the first trip around the lot and check out everyones’ menus before deciding. I was excited that there were new trucks there since its always fun to try a new truck and I am slowly making my way through them. So Bistro A La Carte was definitely on my list to eat from. My initial inclination was to go for the Breakfast Croissant… but in the spirit of trying new things, I decided on the Kimchee Chicken Melt. Sadly I forgot my jacket so I had to hit all the trucks on my list really quick … and then drive home before I got a chance to sample the foods because it was freezing. Anyway, as soon as I got home, I popped a bite of the melt in my mouth first. Sadly the melt was only lukewarm by the time I got home. It was still good. But I have to say it was better the next day when I ate more of it… probably because it was hot from the microwave. My only thing I would change next time is see if I could get without sesame seed. Personal preference that is all. On Day 2 of event: I decided I was going to have that Breakfast Croissant that I had really wanted the day before, even if it meant foregoing a bite from one of the other trucks. So back I went, and got my Croissant! And all I can say is I am so glad I did. It was GREAT! I mean the ham was REALLY good and the flavors just made my mouth so very happy. So much better than those ones from the Donut shops or worse fast food places. And not only was it my favorite breakfast meal(I love breakfast food for dinner), but the guys on the truck were so very nice and pleasant! I hope to be able to catch them again soon. I WANT another croissant ! My mouth is already watering. Either that or the Chicken & fires on a baguette… Decisions. Decisions.
