We were greeted and seated promptly. Our service was fast and efficient. Our server brought our food out quickly and accurately. She then suggested and made a nice beer drink(not a michelada) since I mentioned I wanted a beer. I had not been there in years, but it was great overall. I’ll be back!

I visited here finally. It was recommended by family friends. For restaurant Birria, it’s pretty decent. I had the Birria in caldo plate! Hand made tortillas, nice. One thing that could have been better was the chile. I like my food spicy. I’m used to my moms special chilito that adds more flavor and kick. It needed something when I asked for hot sauce they offered the habanero bottle on the table. No Bueno. Don’t do it. It changes the flavor. Go without. Yet going without means a small need for more! The price is $ 15 a plate that includes the Birria, tortillas, rice and refried beans. In my family we eat frijoles de Olla with this meal. The rice was a bit dry, but edible. The beans were out of place for me. I will say I had really great service. The waitress, a young woman was very nice. Try it, it’s decent. Also, they honored the Unilocal checkin and didn’t even check the code. Nice!

This place has the best Birria hands down in the L.A. area. Fast service, nice staff, and they let vendors come in and sell there products. I like that environment it reminds me of going to Peru or Mexico. All together great experience and good food!

This was my first time eating birria! It was so pleasantly delightful. I thought it would taste a bit gamy but, it was tender and full of flavor. The sauce surrounding the succulent meat was soaked up by the deliciously, handmade tortillas as big as your face. I had eaten a bit prior to going but, I had to make room for my food once I heard my friend wanted to eat birria. I was really excited to try it since my friend had raved about it for a long time. The service was very quick; right after we sat down, the server came right to us for our order. I told my friend to order since I trusted her on what we should have. Along with our meal, we each got a huge michelada with corona; it was probably enough for 2 people. The michelada was made perfectly; the flavors complemented each other beautifully and not one flavor dominated the other. You got to add the cilantro and onions to the freshly made sauce; topped off with a squeeze of lime. Then, you need to stuff your face and continue eating until you’re full of the yummy goods. The service was very friendly and welcoming. The décor was fun and festive; deer heads were hung up on the wall with Xmas decorations. I’m so glad we decided to eat here. It was a great meal and I can’t wait to eat more! Go get it!

I really enjoyed this place. The birria is solid, the tortillas are huge, homemade and thick and the pepino(cucumber) agua fresca is really good. The consommé is better and heartier at Birreria de Don Boni but this place is still really good and it comes with plenty of meat. If you want it with pure meat make sure to order it as «masisa» and they will accommodate. The service is fast and there is plenty of room to sit. Please note that parking is hard to find in front of the shop. Your best bet is to go behind the restaurant where the lot is. I will definitely come here again.

Mediocre at best, it might have been good in the past but at present time it’s not good. Don’t waste your money, like I did. In reading the reviews I went to try it and it was«No Bueno»

I don’t really rate places but this place I will never go back to. At first it looked promising so I ordered the combo which is Birria with rice and beans, when I got my order it looked good but the meat was really hard and it had a funky smell to it not goat smell but funky, half of the plate was gristle(not eatable fat) the beans were bland and the rice was meh. I love Birria and I’m from Jalisco actually born and raised in Guadalajara where the Birria is from so I know a good Birria when I try one. I hate to give it such a bad rating but I don’t want other people to be disappointed like I was. Try another Birria spot somewhere else, don’t spend your money on something you won’t enjoy. 3 plates 2 cokes 1 michelada $ 66

I have spent the last 15 years telling people how amazing this place is! Its Ridiculous how much flavor is in all the birria’s they have and it does not stop there. I have swore that I would even only stop by this place just to have the hand made tortillas and some broth. For those new people here: 1. There’s different ways to order your birria, i suggest suggesting regular 2. The clear bottle with the orange looking sauce is Habanero… Its deadly hot but delicious… only a couple of drops will change the flavor or your food completely. I always over do it but its amazing. 3. the natural waters are great; my favorite is the Melon 4. they make Quesadillas with what i think is Oxacan cheese and its heaven inside a tortilla. 5. i have heard the earlier batches of birra are better but i’ve never been disappointed any time of day.

I know my Saturdays and Sundays are going to be great when I hear we’re going to Chalio. I recommend going out to eat here in the morning only because the serving is the amazing and their tortillas made by hand are delicious! The service at Chalio’s is great except one time we went late. It is common to have to wait in line on weekends only because its a great place to visit when in you’re in LA. Once you are seated just like every other restaurant they start you off with drinks and taking your order. The vibe is amazing! When you first walk in you see many portrait and deer heads having of the wall. Chalio is painted with bright colors that makes the place even more pleasant being there. The employees are very welcoming and nice. They attend you quickly once seated and always try to make you feel happy and satisfied eating there. Once they get your drinks and put in your order they start bringing out the tortillas, onion, cilantro and limes ready for when your plate is set in front of you. The music is good although sometimes it varies because it’s live from outside musicians who walk in trying to make some extra cash playing at little settings. If you’ve tried Chalio’s plate of birria and liked it then you can understand how anxious your taste buds feel when the attendants serve you you’re plate of Birria. If there’s one thing they should consider is giving less fat and more meat but its understandable because most of the meat is enacted with fat so its pretty difficult to remove all the fat. Overall, their salsa is such an amazing extra touch to spice up the birria even more However, if you’re not such a hot sauce person the birria is still good with their delicious home made tortilla. Im such a fanatic of aqua de horchata so every place I go I order that mainly as my beverage but theirs has to be the best I have ever tasted! So what better than live music, an amazing food aroma, and a nice plate of birria with your side of horchata or coke. This place is very cozy and welcoming. And their tortillas are huge and just so good reminds of Mexico every time. Plus you can’t go wrong with the setting its so Mexican like with the goats heads just staring down at you eating some good birria.

Birria was what Evers a decent portion but some of it super dry. I definitely had better, I think La Barca Jalisco is way way better than this place and better taste.(FYI) people

Very good food. A bit of wait for our drinks and food but I can’t blame the waitress as there is only one of them! They should hire more waitresses, it’ll make everything much quicker. Very nice about our requests and will definitely continue coming here.

Came here on a Sunday and was seated right away. 5 minutes later, more and more people kept pouring in, I would expect a 5−20minute wait when coming here. I had the«Estilo sonora» which is their version of chilaquiles, and they were excellent. My son had the Birria and I had a taste, which almost caused me to regret my plate because it was that tasty! Chilaquiles is my favorite dish anywhere and these were made up to my standards and exceeding my expectations, so I was fine after all. The food was great and the service was the same. The food presentation was also well done. This place may deserve a 5 star rating but I’m not 100% sure. It is that kind of place to definitely get another visit to see if I was wrong this time. (Mother in law got the Nopales with egg plate, wifey had the machaca with eggs and they were more than satisfied as well)

A buddy of mine told me about this place and boy am I happy that I took his advice. Monster, as we call him, told me that this is the best place to get birria and the micheladas aren’t bad either. So on a hot Saturday afternoon me and my girlfriend decided to stroll on by. My girlfriend doesn’t eat lamb/goat so I was the only one to get a plate. Please be aware that during the weekends the menu is limited. Also, there aren’t any menus so you have to ask the waitress what they are serving or walk up to the counter and get a to-go menu and work with that. I got the birria plate with the juice on the side and it was fantastic. The meat was tender and the broth was flavorful. I will most definitely be coming back. Oh by the way, the micheladas are like little tanks. For $ 8.50 you get a huge stein filled with the good stuff. The michelada is pretty much a meal on its own so I ended up taking most of the birria home.
