Food lacks flavor, no wait though! We are the only people there in a Monday noon! The wait for lobster is toooooo long, they may have forgotten it?

New location in Koreatown. Place was almost empty on Saturday afternoon. I usually get it to go. Food is good and fresh. They do have parking structure without valet.

You should think of this place as a legit restaurant rather than boiling crab kind of atmosphere. We ordered main dishes for the whole party. Shrimps were good but boiling crab ones were better in my opinion. But it’s cleaner here. No wait when we got here. A lot more selection of food(Chinese/Vietnamese seafood entrees). I would choose here over boiling crab when hanging out as a group. We got: Seafood garlic noodle(okay) House Cajun dirty fried rice(really good) Crab burger(nice to try) Shrimp

So I came since I hadnt been in a while, and man did it suck. New manager, new staff, they didnt know nothin and was way UN organized. The only way Im coming back is only to use my bogo cards… if I could use them in long beach I would. Took another 20mins to pay so I could leave, waitress was all over the place and there were only five tables with ppl at them. This was the worst experience Ive had at any restaurant… smh! And the food seemed to tatse a lil different as well. Even the chefs and floor servers left with management.

Went here for lunch. No one was there. Which made it awesome! We were the only one there for lunch. No lunch rush at all. Ordered ½ of everything — Shrimp — Lobster tail — Snow crab legs — Mussels — Crawfish(needs to be clean more. Can taste the mud.) Lemon butter & Cajun season SPICY! Cajun fries are nice and crispy. Calm chowder is awesome. Just a bit of everything here was good! Looking forward to coming back again with a bigger appetite. This was lunch…

This was my first visit to this food joint! Parking: They have limited parking right in front of the restaurant or a garage right below it. The garage is free. But smelly. The interior is nicely decorated with a wide open kitchen so you can see the chef. We had: Fish and Chips: I really liked the fries. My boyfriend ate the fish and says it was cooked crisp and flaky. 1 lb of Shrimp(butter): I ate this and it was delicious. Perfectly cooked and the shrimp weren’t small. Having to peel them was a challenge, but I survived. 1 lb of Shrimp(Cajun): This was free. My boyfriend ate this and added potatoes which are an extra charge. I thought it could have been spicier for my liking, but it had good flavor. 1 lb of Snow Crab(butter): My favorite part. So delicious. Perfectly cooked and soaked in lemon and butter. House Cajun Garlic Noodles: My boyfriend thought he was eating for 4 and ordered this but didn’t finish it. We took it home and it was good. I’m sure better fresh. I enjoyed the couple of bites I had and would order it again, though. I enjoyed this place. Service could have been better on refills and trash removal but I will be back.

New location close to DTLA. I normally go to LETSSEA in South Gate Ca, and Stinkin Crawfish in Downey Ca. And have been to boiling crab several times. So I’m familiar with this restaurant concept. Place looks to be fairly new as everything looks clean and bright. They have a great special when you order 1 Lb of shrimp, you get 1 lb free. So far so good. Ordered 2 lbs of shrimp. 1 lb with lemon butter sauce. And 1 lb with Cajun style sauce. With a side of white rice. Both sauces where very good. My plastic bib came in very handy as I devoured my shrimp. I also ordered 2 shrimp tacos and they where amazing. Service was quick and all the staff where nice and friendly. Will definitely be coming back before the free shrimp special expires. Overall the food was great. 5STARS!!! They will have draft beer soon. And they have several TVs to watch sports.

Came here once and now I keep going. I prefer this place over boiling crab for sure. Their customer service and the food served here is much better. Their Cajun shrimp is bomb! I always order their shrimp. I finally tried their clam chowder and their clam chowder is amazing!!! What’s awesome is after I eat my meal, I always have to go for dessert and what better dessert to have than their deep fried Oreo cookies(: I come here often and leave satisfied. Aside from their food, their service is exceptional. I am always greeted with a smile. I feel welcomed every time I step foot inside the restaurant. I can’t begin to explain how great their service is. Paolo, one of their servers has served me along with their manager, Brian, both of whom have given me great service. Paolo’s positive energy and outgoing personality makes eating here fun. Brian is really kind and I love that he is always making sure that their customers are enjoying their meals and service. I had the pleasure to meet the chef, Chacon, and was able to let him know that he makes amazing food. I would definitely recommend eating at The Big Catch to anyone that loves Cajun style seafood, deep fried desserts, and exceptional service from a great staff.

This review is for our first delivery order. I say«first» cause I would order from here again. Not sure if I would dine in though… Might as well go to Boiling Crab if I leave the house. It’s ALMOST up there with Boiling Crab but not quite. Anyways, let’s get to it. DONOT order the spicy cajun peeled shrimp. Ahhh it was WAY too salty and overcooked. The cajun sauce is flavorful but they need to cut back on the salt or MSG(?). The BF thought he was having an heart-attack afterwards. Now, the regular boiled shrimp(shelled) with spicy cajun is something I would order again. Found myself digging for more shrimp although I knew it was all gone. And yes, by now I had some dirty/oily ass hands. Sauce was still on the salty side but the shell protects the shrimp from absorbing too much sauce! It was less overcooked than the peeled option too. Overall better flavor, texture, and more enjoyable. Clam with lemon butter was just okay. Would skip this sauce and stick with only shrimp or crab next time. Gumbo was okay. Tasted a bit plain but I’ve never had bomb gumbo to compare it to. Cajun Fries — A bit on the salty side but it’s usually like this everywhere. The prices are a bit funky. It’s $ 5 extra for the peeled shrimp option… But $ 10 for a whole pound of regular shrimp. You do the math. Add ons: $ 5 for sausages, $ 1.25 for potato(4 – 5 mini red potatoes), & $ 1.25 for yellow corn(2 halves). They provide bibs for delivery orders which is a plus!

Went here on a whim with my mom baased on my little sister’s rec. We went on a sunday around 12pm. Best time and day of the week to go. Parking is definitely an issue. Small lot and busy Koreatown do not equal great parking. We were seated immediately. Open space. Great service. Great food. The best was the cajun rice. So flavorful. I also enjoyed their honey iced tea.

Not bad. We came by for lunch and the place was empty with the exception of one party with ladies at the table. The place is echoey, and they were so awfully loud. It made my lunch hour and meal unappetizing. To start, we had the raw oysters. It would’ve been nice if they explained to us what type of oysters they were serving. I ordered the soft shell crab sandwich that I felt was saturated in red sauce. I wanted to be able to taste the crab people not a bunch of sauce. Also the lobster sandwich was pretty good. Probably the best part of our lunch. Customer service was a bit weak inattentive. Park out on the street or outside lot. The parking garage downstairs reeks and it will leave your car smelling for hours!!! The dumpsters are full, exposed and totally unkept.

«Newer is always better.» –Barney Stinson. In this case, though the space was better than your typical pirate themed cajun seafood restaurant, the food was not. This was the first time we stayed and ate at a cajun seafood restaurant because we like taking it to-go so we can devour the deliciousness to our hearts content away from the judging eyes of the public. Maybe we should have done that this time too because they were not even serving any beer as they are still waiting for their alcohol license. We came in on their last day of the special buy-one-get-one-free deal(buy any boiled seafood and get 1 pound of crawfish or shrimp free.) The people were nice and friendly, but the service was crawling. It seemed like they were busy running around? Our drinks would get re-filled quickly, but when our bucket of shells was taken away, we were not given a new one even though we weren’t even close to being finished with our meal, and if we ever needed anything, servers passing by were hard to come by. The flavors are very different from your typical cajun seafood restaurant, and not in a good way. We got 1 pound of crawfish and 1 pound of shrimp, which were both boiled and then the cajun sauce was poured over them. I did not like this because the flavor of the sauce was not able to seep into the crawfish nor the shrimp, so it just tasted liked crawfish and shrimp. But at least the quality of the shrimp was good. The sauce itself was very lemony and peppery, even though we ordered the cajun sauce, but it just didn’t work for me, especially with the crawfish, but maybe it’s because I just like the flavor of shrimp better in general and like I said before, it was just boiled crawfish and shrimp with the sauce as an afterthought. I cannot stress enough how important rice is to me when it comes to my cajun seafood. I love peeling my shrimp right over my rice so all of that goodness is soaked up by the rice, and then eat that. But here the rice came waaaay after we got our shrimp, which came waaaay after we got our crawfish, so the timing was a bit disappointing. Would I come again? No. Was I completely disappointed with our meal? No, but only because it was buy-one-get-one free. On the plus side, they do have free parking underneath.

We came here last night because we heard about the promotion. You buy one lb of the broiled seafood and you get a lb of shrimp and crawfish for free. It sounded too good to be true. Had to check it out. We arrived around 8 and while there were some people there wasnt many. We sit down and order our food. We ordered the: Cajun Fries — Good 1 Lb of Lemon Butter Mussels — Too rubbery. Overcooked. Corn definitely tasted better in this seasoning but the seafood itself tasted better in the Cajun Flavor. 1 Lb of Cajun Clams — Good but some pieces were cold. Portions were small. _______________________________________________________ Free: 1 Lb of Cajun Shrimp — Good. Portions were small. 1 Lb of Cajun Crawfish — Good Portions were small. I guess my main beef would have to be with the service. We first ordered our food and asked to add 2 orders of corn and 1 order of sausage. They bring one order of corn and one sausage. We politely remind them that we didn’t receive our second order and the waitress admits to not putting in the order and puts it in for us. We receive our mussels and clams and are waiting for the shrimp and crawfish but the waiter brings us our check. Confused we tell him that were still waiting for our food. He says he will check on the order. He comes back and says it will come out soon. 10 minutes go by. The waitress asks us how our food was and gives us the check. We tell her that were still waiting for our food. She goes to check on it and comes back to inform us that its coming right out. 10 more minutes go by. No one is making eye contact with us anymore. Everyone is scurrying past our table. All the while orders are coming out of the kitchen. People who came after us are leaving before us. 10 more minutes go by. At this point our husbands are livid. At least admit to us that they messed up. Don’t lie and keep telling us that its coming out when they are clearly giving other people our food. Finally our food comes out and we eat and ask for the check. The waiter brings us our check and we see that they charged us for the free lb of shrimp. At this point our husbands are about the flip the table so we tell them to go outside. We tell the waiter that there is something wrong with our check and they fix it. The service was friendly but they are definitely lacking teamwork. Staff seemed like they didn’t know what they were doing. Food was slow and the portions seemed small. And they didn’t have alcohol. I cant imagine coming back here after the horrible service.

A SOLIDOK. I can’t help but compare this place to Boiling Crab because it’s pretty much the same menu. The BIGGEST(temp) PLUS is the buy 1lb of shrimp and get a 1lb of shrimp for free deal(2lbs for $ 10) that’s going on right now till 8÷15÷15! GETONTHAT! but i’m afraid this might be the only thing this place has on Boiling Crab. The spicy cajun sauce/spice is very much on the light and kind of bland side. ITAIN’T SPICY! 2 girls and we ordered: –SHRIMP($ 10/lb): they don’t combine spices/flavors(SPICYCAJUN or LEMON&PEPPER) T-T and although the shrimp itself is definitely a good, fatty cooked shrimp, the sauce is not as satisfying. –SOFTSHELLEDCRABSANDWICH($ 12): not worth the price. it’s so small and the bun they use is actually kind of dry. The crab itself is so hard to taste, being swallowed by the mass of cole slaw like lettuce(which was actually pretty good), but you really can’t taste or notice that you’re eating crab at all. –CAJUNFRIES($ 3): pales in comparison to Boiling Crab again. It’s about the sauce and the cajun here is not as satisfying, I FEELANEMPTINESS T-T!!! Ambiance: really love the space. clean and modern interior with great servers! super nice and courteous! Parking: there’s plenty of street parking around and a small lot for the plaza, there even«seems» to be underground parking??? but not too sure about that.

So my friend and I went to try this place out today, especially because we both love boiling crab and it was supposed to be similar AND it was a brand new establishment in the area. I have to say that I absolutely loved their spacious and clean interior. And it sucks to say but I gave them 4 stars because the expectations I had for the food here wasn’t up to par with my love for boiling crab. I would’ve actually given them 3 stars if it wasn’t for the grand opening deal they have right now(order a lb of shrimp and get a lb free). I know that it may seem harsh to compare it to Boiling crab but I had expected something a little better, especially after finding out that they were a chain with multiple restaurant locations. Something that seemed«cleaner» than boiling crab would be the way they served their shrimp on a tray. It definitely was easier to grab the shrimp out instead of having to reach into a bag that is filled with the sauce and the shrimps. The sauce though, was not spicy at all even though the name of it was«spicy cajun» and they don’t have the different levels of spice like boiling crab does. The cajun fries was smaller in portion than bc and it didn’t taste as good. And it was the same with rice — smaller in portion and not as good in taste as bc. Some pros are that you don’t have to wait in a ridiculious line, and that they give you gloves if you ask for them. And I believe water is free, whereas they charge for water at bc. We also tried some burger but that was a disappointment too. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t good. I would come back here but only if I’m craving that kind of seafood and don’t want to wait in a huge line.
