I was so looking to taste some currywurst, in the Army in Berlin we loved it, we had a stand behind our Barracks, but was sooo disappointed at Berlin Currywurst, was sorry I took my granddaughter there, embarrassed and mad that I drove so far to get another taste of it, but was nothing like in Berlin

I was bummed when i noticed that this place was no longer at the cahuenga location because i really like food and atmosphere. so i was pleasantly surprised when i noticed that they had moved to Silverlake. The space is not as cute as their original but the food remains just as tasty and it now being closer to where i live just make it that much better!

Ordered Scharfe Kasewurst(jalapeño) w/garlic habanero currywurst. Really tasty. Great place to bring friends if you like brats & beer. Good local place. Downside seating for 15 inside, largest table is 7 – 8, only 2 beers on tap.

Decent food. Fries were overcooked. Jalapeño sausage was great with curry wurst, but bread roll was dry. Overall, tasty food but the quality didn’t match the price. Great service, though!

This isn’t a traditional meal you would find me eating whatsoever, but I was sold. This place was really interesting. I was expecting it to be served a specialty hotdog or something, but I was surprised to see that it’s basically a wurst chopped up into bite size pieces and drenched in sauce with bread on the side. Normally I’m not a big fan of any type of curry, but I really loved how theirs is made. I got a Rind(beef) wurst, with garlic curry and I believe a level 2 spicy, which turned out to be the perfect spice for me. It is a little on overseasoned side, but I’m the type of person who puts pepper on everything so it didn’t bother me. They give you these little stick forks to eat it with, but it made for a really good experience. The serving was pretty much a snack size, but it was enough to get me satisfied. I paired it with a Hef which made it all taste that much better! The only thing wrong about the dish was the bread. You’re supposed to dip it in the sauce, and it should have been a nice break from the sausage, but I wasn’t a fan of it. Lastly, I recommend getting the fries. Those were probably my favorite part of the meal! Note– my friend who recently traveled to Germany assured me that this place is pretty authentic, so if that’s what you’re looking for your best bet is to eat here! It’s nice to come if you live within walking distance because parking sucks around this area. I probably wouldn’t come back because of that reason, but I’m glad I got to try it.

Absolute disappointing. Their sausage was good. But the Portions are kind of small. for $ 11 this they can do better. The fries greasy and to cold cooked in oil. The Restaurant was filthy and the kitchen needs a clean up. The whole ambient was bad and cold. Looks like the owner dont care any more. Very frustrating no reason to come back

Yum I really like this place. They have a cool little make your own wurst menu where you can pick a bunch of different options. The interior is very small but they have an indoor space and an outdoor space. The only thing is it’s a bit overpriced for what you get, but it is a nice treat every once and again if you’re willing to spend more money for a sausage

A little disappointing. Their sausage was pretty good, even if overseasoned. Also ordered a pretzel on the side; bad move on my part. The pretzel was obviously reheated and after I I decided to eat about a third of it, it turned rock solid and practically inedible. Also there were other kinds of sausages I wanted to order, but they were out of beef and chicken sausages. Portions are kind of small. If you get a double portion of sausage and a side, that’s enough for me. The fries were fantastic, but I came for the chicken sausage, which I wasn’t able to get. Also, the restaurant gets extremely hot(at least when we went), and only 2 of the tables in the restaurant were safe from the hot sunlight coming in the window. Probably an unfortunate combination of events led to my bad experience here. I’d like to give it a second chance eventually. I also hope they either start making pretzels in house, get a new vendor, stop reheating crappy move theatre pretzels, or take them off the menu altogether. Very frustrating.

Yummmmmm! I have never been to a place like this! It was a really interesting experience! I ordered the sausage with jalapeños and did the«jambalaya» style with their signature ketchup that was tasty! It comes with a side roll of the bread, which is nice and soft. One thing I did not agree with was the lack of ice cold water. I’m eating ghost peppers with my sausage(I’m obsessed with spicy foods — level 4 heat please!) and they only had warm water. Overall, awesome place to get your sausage fest on!

This place isn’t a bad place to go to just hang with friends and have a quick meal. The serving itself isn’t terribly big so keep that in mind. In comparison to authentic German street food, the Currywurst from here is quite similar. Too bad it’s just not served as piping hot. My food arrived temperately warm. All the different Wursts are a must try. I had four different ones and each were quite good; very distinct in flavor.

Interestingly enough, I liked their fries more than their sausage… I think their sausages were over-seasoned, overpowering the natural flavor of the meat. Good beer here though. They have a nice, relaxing atmosphere to chat with your friends.

Amazing, I originally thought this was a hotdog place but I was wrong. They serve their wurst in bite-sized pieces, covered with sauce and with a piece of bread. I ordered the Bockwurst with garlic sauce and sauerkraut salad. The wurst was spot on– juicy, hearty, and covered with sauce. I’m definitely coming back for more. Not a big fan of the sauerkraut salad though, it had an acquired taste that’s different from normal sauerkraut.

This place has 498 reviews, so it’s not like my review is going to tip the balance. I am mainly here to say that while I love this place and go here often, they need to bring back their old bread. You know what I’m talking about: that rustic German farmhouse bread that had a depth of flavor and really complimented all the brat dishes. About six months ago they switched to this very pedestrian white bread that, while fine, doesn’t add anything to the experience. Sure, it’s crusty and always tastes fresh. But why anyone would switch to this ultra-bleached, simple carb, poor man’s Italian bread is beyond me. As for the rest of the food, not much to add that hasn’t been said. I usually go with the scharfe kasewurst with jambalaya sauce — just awesome. Even the tofu one is pretty decent. The fries are crispy and even better doused in caramelized onions and mayo. And the beet salad will do right by you if you’re looking for something green, though I suspect the beets are canned. Another vegetable offering on the menu would be nice. All in all, a great option for lunch and dinner. Just… BRINGBACKTHEOLDBREAD!!!

Went here for the first and probably the last time. The service was friendly enough and thats what the 3 stars are for. The bratwurst was grocery store quality, in fact it tasted almost like hot dog. The curry served with it tasted like ketch up with some added spices. The tables were so sticky and grimy our arms were getting stuck on them. GROSS. I do not know of their former glory — this was my first visit, I do hope they clean those tables and possibly source out better quality sausages.

What is going on with this place? It has really taken a dive since it first opened. I hope the owners see this and get it in order because I really do wish them the best. The tables were all sticky and the food was prepared haphazardly. What bothered me the most was that just before he prepared our food the cook was outside the back door smoking. We could smell the cigarette smoke from inside the restaurant. Then, while preparing our meal, he was on the phone the entire time! Fortunately the flavors were still the same but that place seems like a mess!

I love customizable food experiences. I go for whatever meat and curry is spicy af, because if you know me, you know I like the spice. Their beer and sprite or lemonade or whatever the f*ck it is mixture is what dreams are made of, especially when you are suffering from one of Lisa’s mild hangovers. They have a sauerkraut salad with orange-ness and it is pretty damn good(and a probiotic!!! healthy!!! yay!!!) Whenever I come here I tell myself I will not eat the accompanying bread but we all know that’s a lie. It soaks up that curry sauce so nice. My mom’s amiga is from Germany and she said it’s super authentic so if you are an authenticity nut then go here. My mom is also evil and orders the giant fries if I go with her which really messes with my supermodel goals because they are delicious and I can’t resist food that’s in front of my face.

I came here a while back and I had an enjoyable experience. My friends and I didn’t exactly know where this place was — it was tucked in between buildings and stores. There was a line when we entered the restaurant. It is smaller than I thought, but very cozy with seating inside and outside. I got the larger order(double portion) of their Paprikawurst — pork with pakrika and garlic. I ordered it Heat Level 4 just to test my tolerance, along with Rosemary-Garlic Fritten and Weihenstephaner Hefe Beer. Food took a little while to come out, but when it did it did not disappoint. The Paprikawurst was juicy, smokey and flavorful. I really enjoyed their fries and the beer was light and refreshing just enough to cut on the spiciness. I really enjoyed it and I am glad that more locations are popping up!

First of all the guys working were great! Lots of questions were answered and try knew their stuff. The food was delicious! I got the tofu kielbasa with an orange-ginger sauce. Soo flavorful! The medium was a good spicy for me. My mom got the brat with jalepaño, it was spicyyyy! My sister got the paprika brat with with fruity flavor. She says it hit the spot! As far as beer, I got the Hef. I’m a Blue Moon fan so I loved it. Not a lot of seating, but it’s nice spot! Nothing bad to say. & thanks for the great service!
