This GUY! Bill is terrific. His prices are fair and he does not use scare tactics to try and upsell you. I like that he gives you a heads up on future items to plan for. He is thorough and an all around good guy. I started bringing all of my cars here 5 years ago and I have never been disappointed. This is close by to the house so I can drop it off and walk home. This totally reminds me of the times past when you had a local grocery store and mechanic in your neighborhood that everyone trusted. He has worked on my Classic 1968 VW Beetle to my brand new MBenz. He can do it all.

Friendly, quick service. Reasonable price. I went to get a STAR smog certificate without an appointment. Fast in and out and done! I’ll be returning :-)

Trustworthy, fair and really great guys. I would drive from far away to take my car here… but fortunately I don’t have to.

I have had nothing but good service and honest advice. I wouldn’t take my car anywhere else. Bill is wonderful.

I can’t believe some of the comments on here! I’ve used this place for many years now and they’ve always taken good care of me. They inform of anything wrong that I didn’t know of and they have always given me fair prices. They even offer me a ride home if I need it, when they’ve needed to hold onto my car for longer than expected… and that has only happened why they needed to order a part. Otherwise, I’ve had nothing other than fast service. I highly recommend this family business!

Took them a week to fix my car, and when I come to pick it up… it doesn’t start. They get it started and charge me $ 800 for what I feel is worth no more than $ 500 worth of parts+labor. A few weeks later, my «new» battery is dead and won’t hold a charge. The AAA guy said they put the wrong sized battery in and didn’t fix a few other things such as the timing belt that is loose. Friendly enough guys, but they did a horrrrible job on the car. I have to get it towed back. Will NEVER be returning once this problem is solved and would NEVER recommend.

Shady business. Charged me for work I did not request. They never asked me if i wanted to change my break pads before doing so. Well I wouldn’t know even if they didn’t, since they didn’t spend a single second to show me their so called «work» but rather forced me uncomfortably to pay in cash on the spot. Deceptive thieves.
I really can’t believe they are still in business with their lack of ethical practice. They should have an F on BBB. All locals and neighbors have been forewarned.

I only take my car to see these guys. It’s hard to find honest mechanics, but these guys are surely them.

Very rude and dishonest. Replaced my radiator without even calling me and quoting the price. I was in a rush and signed the form when i picked up my car then realized they charge $ 480 for a new radiator. Every other shop i spoke to thereafter quote me around $ 350. Considering I am a student in my early 20’s, I felt that they took advantage of me. When i went to complain, they just pointed at the spot where I signed. Apparently they had me sign the «estimate form» when i came to pickup my car. Don’t deal with these guys, they are very sneaky and will do anything under your hood to make a quick buck. HIGHLY UNRECOMMENDED!

I’m sorry one of the other reviewers had a bad experience with B&J. I’ve been taking my cars to them for years and have always had outstanding service. I’ve found them to be excellent, fast and honest (In fact, one of my first experiences with them was having them tell me that I didn’t need a tune-​up that I thought I needed).
I wouldn’t take my cars anywhere else.

While I can not say they did anything nefarious, we received less than satisfactory service. We took our car there to be smog-​tested because it required a Test-​only/​Gold Shield Station. Our car did not pass and the reasons they gave made our car ineligible for reimbursement of repairs costs under the state’s program. He also told us that he couldn’t find the part our car needed and his smog machine was now broken, so he wouldn’t be able to retest. Essentially, take your car elsewhere. We found the part at PepBoys and they never took down their sign indicating they were a Gold Shield station, so how long was their machine broken, I wonder? When we took our car to another Gold Shield station, one of the two reasons they gave for not passing was wrong. Would that had made us eligible for reimbursement? I don’t know for sure, but either way, he was lazy. We eventually got our car fixed, and it wasn’t that big a deal at the new place.
