Friends were very impressed with journeyman ironworker, Damien Gates and cherish their custom balustrade and decorative door iron inserts. He is equal parts artist — aerobat — and architect.
His work is stunning. One can only imagine, challenging and difficult too. Think tall structures at high elevations (Hollywood Hills Homes), rigid standards, safety, and deadlines. And, I learned, confidentially.
A visit to his showroom/store, was similiar although small-scale, to Warner Bros. Property Department. Armor, armoires, agates, benches, banisters, baseball bats, or any concept, composite, or constitution of all-things-metal.
Damien is one-likable iron worker, well mannered, and friendly. He would make the-perfect neighbor with no need for a fence. However, he could forge one beautifully.

Damien, the owner, is awesome and super nice!
My friend and I were walking by while waiting on our reservation down the street and wandered into Damien’s store. My friend was attracted to a miniature display of a 1500’s helmet outside and we stepped inside. The shop is filled with great treasures and awesome ironwork. I was surprised to learn that Damien does a lot of the ironwork himself. Really cool!
My friend ended up purchasing the helmet display with stand (for a totally reasonable price) and Damien shared with us some information about the helmet she purchased as well as others located in the store.
If I’m around the area I will definitely stop by again to see what new treasures there are!
