My 6 year old daughter loves her one-on-one art classes with «Ms. Heather.» A patient, fun, encouraging, inspiring and talented teacher plus a colorful and cozy art studio environment make this a wonderful experience for kids. Ms. Heather introduces her students to a variety of art media, but clearly it’s at an individualized pace and involves a real dialogue with her students. Although they get to bring a few items home, students have their own shelf in the classroom where they keep their «portfolio» and other projects; this helps to make my daughter feel like she’s part of this little community of young artists that Ms. Heather has assembled and nurtured.

Took my eight-year-old nephew here as part of my «keep him active while he’s visiting LA» initiative. My sister just barely agreed. Her son is not known for an interest in art. :) Anyway, Heather won him over right away. She put him at ease, she got him to tell her the kind of things he likes to make. She had something fresh and original for him to work on every week. This is a kid who only talked about hanging out at the beach before he got here. He ended up talking about his projects with Heather as much as riding his boogie board. Thank you Heather. My nephew went back home to Wisconsin, and I ended up with some new ceramic bowls and a marionette. :)

Heather taught my 14 yr old stepdaughter for over 2 years. In that time my daughter blossomed artistically under her guidance. Heather is patient and joyful in her teaching and it is contagious. We miss her dearly and she’s an irreplaceable teacher.
