This place is at Smart and Final during the day and at night it’s the Ruben’s Taco truck. I tried this for the first time and really liked it. They don’t have a lot of seating, nor a salsa bar on the counter, or $ 1 tacos, but it was very good! They give you veggies, salsas, and chips when you order! The tacos also come with everything«salsa, cilantro, onions» etc so it was a nice touch to not have to pile that all on yourself or you could tell them what you wanted. I got 3 chicken tacos for $ 4.50. I was worried I wouldn’t like the salsa since you don’t get a choice, but I liked whatever it was. They have 3 stools there and ton of drinks on ice which Ruben’s only has like some drinks so that was nice. I would def come again.

I usually give a place at least 3 tries before I write a review. I do this because I want to have an accurate assessment in the quality of both product & customer service of any establishment. I would like to inform Unilocal, fellow foodies, & the internets… that Angelica’s Cemitas Originales(the Blue Taco Truck that states«Cemitas Poblanas») is the best Taco Truck I’ve personally come across in the Westside of Los Angeles. I’m not easily pleased, but without a doubt I will constantly come to this awesome Taco stop. It’s on Venice Blvd right next to Smart&Final. On top of all this goodness I just mentioned, they ACCEPTCREDITCARDS Hallelujah!!! Highly Recommended

Carne Cemitas(my first) 4 stars… Lengua tacos 1 stars. As any lengua fan knows it’s either amazing or horrible… There’s no middle ground on beef tongue. They were extra stingy with the salsa too which was upsetting. For my preferences there are better trucks in the area. This just wasn’t my style, others there seemed to be loving it.

A coworker recommended this place to me. I ordered the Cemita w/beef Milanesa &2 tacos since I saw that a few Unilocalers were giving them good reviews. I ordered 1 cabeza taco & a lengua taco. This is one of the very few tricks that accepts credit cards so that was a huge plus. 4 stars Milanesa Cemita: the beef Milanesa was perfectly cooked but 2 things really got to me. #1 the meat was tough & so was the bread. The bread seemed like it was toasted then left on a plate til it got cold & u know what happens when you do that… It gets super hard. My teeth & jaw were hurting as I toughed it out & finally finished my Cemita. #2 the tough meat added to the not so enjoyable meal…& jaw pain. They do give you a great amount of cheese, chipotle & avocado. Next time I’ll ask them to cut my Milanesa into small pieces. Just to make sure that my meat isn’t too chewy. If not I would’ve gave the Cemitas a solid 5 star rating. 5 stars Cabeza taco: one of the best cabeza taco I’ve had in a while. I was pleasantly surprised, the meat was well seasoned & super tender. 4 Stars Lengua: the taco was also super tasty but the cabeza taco overshadows this one. Overall, I will definitely come back & try other things from the menu & hope they earn the 5 stars they deserve.

I happened to be in the area and hungry. I ended up getting a cemitas sandwich with carne asada and it was beyond delicious. This is a big sandwich and you’ll need two hands to manage it. The meat was seasoned just right, The bread was toasted to perfection, it also had onions and slices of avocado along with a white Mexican cheese. If you have driven by this truck and never stopped do yourself a favor and stop. Make sure to get a side of their red salsa and pour it on each and every bite of your sandwich.

BESTTACOTRUCK!!! I know they are known for their cemitas but my gf and I are always looking for good taco trucks and we finally stopped looking after we found this place. Everyone that works here is super nice(and don’t worry for all you non-Spanish speaking folk because they speak English here as well). The prices are super cheap, they have drinks, chips, desserts and they even have a few stools to relax on. This is also one of the only food trucks that accepts credit/debit cards. This place is awesome!!!

Deep fried breaded meat(milanesa), baller ass cheese, toasted bun. It’s good but maybe not worth waiting 30 minutes for during peak lunch hour(11−1230PM). I can take awhile and when you’re tortured by watching hombres taking the cemitas to pound town while you’re waiting for your food you might get a little aggro.

$ 7 for a half asada half al pastor cemita. Lots of cheese and avacado. 2 types of salsas to put on it. Yum!

Came here this past weekend to try these highly rated cemitas. The husband and I ordered the al pastor cemitas. It was $ 6 and after a few minutes we walked away with a hefty bag full of meaty goodness. The meat was really great and flavorful, but we were not a fan of the bread. It was spongy, bland, and just not awesome. In sandwiches, the bread is the foundation and this cemitas did not have a good foundation. Despite the meat being good and the price being right, I don’t think I’ll be back. Maybe if they get better bread =)

Saw this on Unilocal and read all the great reviews. I ordered the cemita de milanesa. The food was ok but I have had better. $ 6 for a cemita. The salsas are good and spicy. Nothing about the cemita really stood out. If I have a craving for a cemita I might consider this place again.

I didn’t think this would happen to me. Of course, every time I think that, something indeed happens to me. I wasn’t exactly anti-cemita, but I did have mixed emotions about them. My introduction to Angelica’s was in the wake of a post-Krav Maga hunger(weak knees, blurred eye-sight, sore feet, neck, and arms). Husband, Watson and I set off to explore our new neighborhood for a sandwich shop. All the good ones on Sunday afternoon were closed. But there was that food truck in front of Smart and Final – always people milling about like an AA break. A highlight from one Unilocal review read that the cemita from this truck was«life changing.» I was suspicious. But man, I was starved and getting grumpy. Because we are dorks, we ordered a chicken burrito and ham cemita. The burrito was good, nothing too special, but I preferred it to the cemita, which was way too hammy, smokey, and cheesy. Though the amount of avocado was impressive. At first I thought the cheese was either shredded chicken or cabbage. I love cheese, but I was dubious about this ropy, industrial-strength fromage. I stuck with the burrito, husband with the cemita. The next day, I get a photo texted to me from my husband. He’s outside the blue truck. A few minutes later he writes, «I have to really concentrate on not eating the whole thing – so good.» Five hours later, half a milanesa cemita remained. For the record, milanesa is much better than ham. And the thing is huge. Not Langer’s #19 huge, but for the price you pay at Langer’s for one #19, you can get three of these(yep $ 6 even). They’re highly share-able, and just as good reheated in the toaster over. I had to go back today for lunch. Called in my order, walked down with Watson. It wasn’t easy, but I saved half because marriage is all about reciprocity… and not getting fat.

A great late night place to get a fast bite. The little tacos are good and the fillings are fresh. This truck hangs out in front of Smart and Final(on Venice near Clarington) till 3am! I have passed by it many times but finally tried it and am glad I did. If you are really hungry their burritos are really big. Prices are really fair.

oh! this truck, this glorious amazing food truck outside of smart & final that serves up the most juiciest tacos and out of this world cemitas! My first cemita was from this truck and it was life changing! I had the cemita al pastor and that thing was a monster! Usually though, we come for the tacos. The tacos de lengua are my favorite, i could have ten of those things… but al pastor is pretty dang good too. Go here, have tacos, be happy.

YUM!!! well, not the burritos but CEMITASAREAMAZING the cost of one of these huge delicious sammich things are 5 bucks! The bread is slightly toasted, the cheese is stringy, and the hot sauce is not only hot but flavorful! What adds to the deliciousness, is the generous avocado spread. Totally worth $ 5. I would get the Cemita al pastor — this thing is just amazing. It’s pretty big and I’m sure I could split it into two meals but it’s so good that I always end up finishing the entire thing :(. As for the carne asada burrito search, don’t bother coming here — it’s not that good. The tacos are okay, too. Nachos are pretty good too :) Everytime, I have come here, there seems to be a crowd. The wait’s not terrible but you will have to wait a little!

This taco truck is wonderful. First, the man there is really sweet and always asks if u want everything on it. I never know what everything is but just say yes. If you do not wanna get a fiery hot burn in your mouth, don’t eat the chili pepper that comes with the burgers. Many order sans chili. This is for meatlovers. The quality meat is def taco truck quality but made to be so delicious. You get the burrito or tacos and it is all meat. Being known for their cemitas(mexican type of sandwich), i recommend it. I do Not like bread with mexican food, but this is the best i think it can be. It is also enough as a meal. I Love bread, and it was soooo good, like homecooked quality, crispy on the outside and doughy on the inside. It was so good I ate the whole darn thing and passed out in a food coma for the whole evening. Seriously, I fell alseep tho. If you wana save money and eat yummy food till you’re full, do it here! Just ummmm be tough cuz it’s spicy. It’s safe to go with carne asada, al pastor, or chicken. Or just ask for beef if u want. If you are brave, the other stuff is like pig’s head, beef tongue and things like that. Some ppl don’t care and some don’t care to even know. Up to you to try. Last thing, yes this is the truck in the early day, and Not the one at night. The one there at night is flashy but half the quality and quantity. Still… Better than nothing on a late night right?

i finally got to this truck on time… and i was def NOT disappointed… i ordered 6 tacos(3 types) including fish and asada. i cant remember the third one. i wish i do remember because it was the best one! I started with the fish taco, then the mystery taco to my lovely asada cravings… and it def satisfied my taste-buds for 8 bucks!!! I will probably start to become of of this trucks stalkers. finding out where it will park next! P.S this is the first time i have ever eaten from a truck before lol. i always thought they were not the greatest food. or dirty… but this truck proved me wrong! I love it!

I drove down Venice in my car and parked in the Smart and Final lot, hoping I would not be towed. I walked the short distance to the truck and ordered a cemita de milanesa de pollo, and picked a glass bottle of Mexican Sprite from the block of crushed ice, which I drank while I waited for the sandwich. It was sweeter than its American counterpart and reminded me of my days of being an imperialistic tourist in that county. After several minutes, the sandwich was ready, and I took it back to my car, where I readily devoured it. It was an exceptional sandwich, much better than the cemitas available at the truck in my neighborhood. The cheese was tangy, the milanesa tender and crunchy, and the avocados ripe. After I had eaten half of the sandwich, I returned to driving down Venice Boulevard, which I followed until the 405, which I took south towards LAX. I ate the rest of the sandwich on my way to the airport, where I met the ruddy-cheeked father of my friend from New Jersey, who had flown out because my friend was in the hospital after suffering a serious intestinal problem. He was grateful for having someone to greet him at the comedy of errors that is LAX, and I was grateful for having been able to eat the transcendant sandwich, and for my own solid intestinal health.
