American Gem

I never write reviews but I feel like fellow Unilocalers should know how cold and rude the customer service is at American Gem.
I went here looking to replace the ink for my expensive Mont Blanc pen. The owner took forever to «buzz» me in– then continued his phone conversation while I patiently waited. He didn’t have the color I was looking for but I said blue would be ok. He told me he didn’t accept credit cards so I ran back out to my car. When I asked for a receipt he asked for me to leave the store. I explained it was for company records and I needed it for reimbursement– if you could even hand write a receipt that would be appreciated. He refused and asked me to leave. I wasn’t expecting a pen guy to be so uptight. Don’t come here.

This is a horrible place. They asked for a deposit so they could order a watch for me. Then they call me to tell me the watch I wanted was discontinued but that I could get the current model for more money. When I said no, they said I had to drive back to the store to refund my deposit since they couldn’t do it over the phone. I drive back and the
Nimrod that’s working that day says he can’t do the refund since the boss is away – only after accusing me of lying about whether my ordered watch actually arrived. These guys are thugs and smarmy criminals. Stay away. I’m still trying to get my deposit back.
