Adesso carries beautiful, unique furniture and decorative items discovered around the world by the owner Selma, an architect from Brazil. Selma’s eye is exquisite, and you will find things in Adesso that you won’t see anywhere else. Selma is also a nice and fair person to do business with. Three years ago I purchased 12 antique South American rosewood dining room chairs from Selma, and some of them squeaked when they moved. Recently I stopped by Adesso and Selma remembered me and asked about the chairs. When I mentioned the squeaking, she offered to have them taken apart, re-glued and the screws tightened. The chairs are perfect now, and Selma coordinated the repair work and billed me only what she was charged. I thought that was more than fair, as she was entitled to compensation for the time she spent, but it was more important to her to have a satisfied customer. This is the kind of service and superior treatment you can expect if you shop at Adesso. The merchandise is priced fairly too — Selma uses the Costco approach to pricing things: she adds a mark-up based upon her cost, not what the market will bear. If she didn’t pay a lot for an item, she won’t charge you a lot for it. Some of it is still expensive, but at least you know it’s worth the price you paid. Go see Adesso, you’ll be glad you did.
