Our experience was similar to Courtney B though the first contact was a roving salesperson walking our OC neighborhood claiming to be with«The House Next Door Remodeling» firm. He smoothly secured an appt but insisted that both of us needed to be present(first warning sign). Then, on the day of the appointment, we got a call asking if we’d definitely be there(like we said we would… duh!). Now they adjust the appt time because they can’t really honor the original schedule. The person who shows up is friendly but seems clueless about the type of work we need done. We ask for a written estimate and are told that they only give estimates at a follow-up meeting where BOTHOFUSAREPRESENT(second warning sign). They call back later to request the estimate discussion. We explain that since they insist on a meeting, we’ll seek other estimates first. They complain(third warning sign). They push for a date when they can call back and we reply«We’ll call you.» The very next day, someone claiming to be with a different firm, AAA Remodeling, seems to know all about the work we need done and knows our names, etc. AAA Remodeling and The House Next Door Remodeling are strangely connected yet when confronted neither will fess up. We will steer clear of these firms forever and hope you do the same.

I thought this experience would be a good one based on the friendly person that first came to the door and the friendly person I talked to on the phone after. I scheduled an appt. for last night and the person came on time, however he was there for OVERANHOURAND A HALF and would NOT give me a quote until my husband was there. Guess why? Because he wanted us to sign something that evening, even though we told him this was the first quote we had gotten and wanted to gather a few more. He was a nice person, but seriously they have got to lose the old school ways of pushy sales because people are getting much smarter about sniffing that stuff out. Not pleased and you totally wasted my whole evening AND were giving me crazy high quotes for our tiny house. I thought it would be a half hour tops. Stay away. OH, and guess what else? Sure enough, as another reviewer posted below, I also received a call today from«The House Next Door» saying we had talked a while back about the paint job. I told him I had read Unilocal this morning and that he was lying and was really AAA — he kept saying no, we are not AAA. Ha, gotcha!!!

Just had one of their reps(Aden) come to our door to try to solicit some work. We have a large ‘No Soliciting’ sign on our front door and do not like to be disturbed at home. That in itself isn’t enough to get me to bother writing this review, but after my wife answered the door and let him know that the no soliciting sign meant that we didn’t want people knocking on our door he proceeded to argue with her for several minutes about how he had looked up the definition of soliciting in the dictionary and what he was doing wasn’t soliciting. I can’t imagine how any response to a homeowner in this scenario other than an apology would be appropriate, but standing there arguing about how he wasn’t a solicitor for several minutes ranks up there as one of the most unprofessional and obnoxious possible things to do. Based on this brief interaction with this company alone, I would never consider doing any business with this company, and would actively discourage anyone else from working with them.
