I had dinner here last night. But this morning I had cereal water and a milk. When the cashier gave me a spoon I noticed a spot on it. I asked her could I have another spoon she immediately said that is a coffee spot. And then she gave me a new spoon. I don’t care what kind of spot is on it just give me another spoon. Bad customer service. Plus the spot actually moved so that was NO coffee spot. Lack of customer service. All could have been avoided if she just gave me another spoon without the additional comment that was clearly incorrect.

Hotel restaurants. They either score big as they don’t think of themselves as having a captive audience, or they fall victim to the ease of knowing people are already in the building. Unfortunately, 96th Street Bistro falls in the second category. Oh there were some bright spots. Like the hostess who warmly greeted me, as friendly as I have seen and began to steer me toward a table. When I asked to sit at the bar, it was full, so she went out of her way to actually introduce me to another guest in the bar who was a regular and squeeze me in at the table next to him once he agreed. This turned out to be advantageous to me as the only reason I think I got served during my visit is that the staff thought I was with the other guy. My order got taken eventually,(the service is really slow here). I think it may have been that no one knew who had my table. The hostess gave me the menu, one server brought my drink, another server brought me my second drink and then I sat there waiting for my salad to show up. And when it finally did? I had the wrong salad. But given I was starving by this time(and really needed food more than the drink they suggested comping for my trouble) I ate the salad they brought. It was actually pretty good, but it wasn’t what I ordered. And the final issue? I think it’s pretty pricey for what you get and I rarely complain about price. Maybe if the salad had been the right one. Maybe if the service had been stellar. Maybe if I had been sitting at the bar chatting with the bartender…something that would make me feel like I got my money’s worth. But I just didn’t. And $ 60 is a lot for a couple of drinks and a salad in anyone’s book.

Bad bad bad. Service was terrible. Restaurant felt dirty. It was smelly and sticky. Waiter disappeared for 20 minutes. Different waiter tried to bring me someone else meals after I was finished eating. Flatbread was gross. So disappointed in this Marriott property and restaurant. I know your an airport location but you should step it up. I feels dirty and sleazy here.

Had breakfast and lunch. Service is excellent and food is very good. The salmon is great, so is the flat bread with shrimp. Skirt steaks are awesome and their weekend buffet breakfast is wonderful.

I’m staying at the hotel for work and it’s the best option for dinner without having to drive. My server Fermin was very attentive– but a bit on the hovering side always peeking around the corner at me. I am originally from Texas so I may be a bit of a steak snob– but this is the worse NY Strip I’ve ever eaten. The steak had bone– a first for me– was very tough, salty and overlooked.(I ordered medium rare– was served medium to medium well). Although the portion was good– the quality didn’t justify the $ 34 price. The potatoes tasted like instant mashed potatoes which were balled up, breaded and deep fried. I only had a few small bites before leaving the rest in my plate. The last bite I took had a hint of freezer burn– that did it in for me. If I order potatoes on a $ 34 plate, I hope they would be real. The spinach was tasty– a bit saturated in the seasoning– a bit salty– but prepared to a perfect consistency. All in all the food was edible– but I won’t be wasting any more money here during this trip.

Needed a place to go for dinner close to the Hilton Express. The Hotel was trying to send us to the nearby Sizzler or a Peruvian restaurant down the street. I wanted something a bit more tasteful. Found this restaurant online less than a mile from the hotel. What the reviews did not say was that it is inside the Renaissance Hotel. I kept looking and almost gave up when I asked the doorman at the hotel if he knew where the 96th Street Bistro was. He pointed inside the hotel and told us where to park. The hotel staff guided us to the restaurant and the hostess seated us immediately. It wasn’t crowded and we did not need reservations. The menu and drinks came immediately. The waiter answered our questions and told us the special catch of the day. I chose the market fish which was Mahi Mahi. It was cooked to perfection with a mild buttery sauce on top. It was served with grilled eggplant and basmati rice. It was simple and so delicious. My companions both had the braised short ribs and seemed to enjoy them thoroughly. That dish was served with grilled eggplant and mashed potatoes. It looked really good. Not a scrap was left over. Oh, I did forget to mention the margherita flat bread that we had as an appetizer. It was good but really was more food than necessary. We were all too full to sample any dessert so I can”t comment on that. All I can say is if you are staying overnight in an airport hotel and want a good meal, this is the place to get one. The prices were higher than Sizzler or a burger place but not over priced for the quality. My companions agreed that the food was very good.

Went to this restaurant with my team while we were in LA. We started with the appetizers and they were good. First we had chicken quesadillas and they were alright. They threw some red pepper flakes on the side for presentation or seasoning; I’m not sure. Secondly we had the spicy chicken wings. They were a little too spicy for my liking but they were thoroughly cooked. Their dipping sauce for the wings was rather bland. Lastly we had the calamari. They portion size was small but the calamari was good. They had a sweet chili sauce that complimented the squid well. Wished there was a little more kick to the sauce but no complaints. For my entrée I had the NY Strip cooked medium rare. They gave me a generously large cut of meat and you can’t go wrong there. The steak was cooked cooked to my liking and was juicy. I’m not sure what they did to get the crunchy shell on the mashed potatoes but it was awesome. The steak was on top of a bed of spinach that was rather soggy. Overall the meal was good but you can’t complain about a free meal. The food was more on the expensive side but I thought it was a tad overpriced.

If you are staying at the Renaissance and have very limited time and unlimited money to blow, then by all means eat here. Otherwise get in your rental car and explore what Culver City and Santa Monica have to offer. My family and I had 3 appetizers, 2 desserts, and 4 cocktails. The bill came to $ 170 before tip! We spent less money on a gourmet Thanksgiving Dinner at Playa Provisions the night before. So if you have time, then go elsewhere.

This would be a review on the Sunday morning breakfast buffet. It runs about 24 bucks per person including coffee and juice. They have omelets made to order which were very good. While it is a buffet the waiters were very attentive. We were staying at the hotel and didn’t feel like battling crowds for local breakfast joints so we took the easy way out and had breakfast here. We’d do it again too.

I stay at the LAX Renaissance often. The service is consistently exceptional and I’ve hosted a number of dinner meetings at the hotel. My personal favorite is the salmon sandwich– I’m sure to order it during each visit

The food was adequate, but the service was very slow. It took over an hour to be served our 2 salads and a sandwich. It was a Saturday night, but it was not particularly crowded.

Being a bit lazy the morning I had time to eat, I just rolled downstairs to eat at this restaurant, which is inside the Renaissance LAX hotel. Getting seated early in the morning wasn’t much of a problem, although there definitely felt like there was a decent number of people up for 8AM in the morning. While you do have a choice of getting food from a buffet, I opted to go with the omelet n the menu. It’s quite sizable, and it also comes with a large slab of hash browns(which aren’t quite as filling as it initially looks) and some toast. The omelet was pretty solid; you can add cheese, avocado, mushrooms, tomatoes, and bacon to it… unfortunately, my waiter didn’t really listen closely enough to what I said and included everything except cheese(I didn’t want tomatoes either). The orange juice here is fresh, although for $ 5, you’re pretty much pushing NY prices. If you don’t really want to travel somewhere in the area(and frankly, being in the middle of all the rental car return lots, the Burger King across the street is the best you can do), the restaurant is a solid spot to eat. It’s definitely on the pricier side(the breakfast + juice came out to nearly $ 25 before tip), and the service wasn’t stellar, but there are worse fates in life.

This is a good dining option considering there’s nothing nearby. I came for a business dinner and my seafood pasta was nicely done with scallops and shrimp on tagliatelle pasta. It’s a rich dish with a cream sauce. That was $ 40 with tip. Hotel prices :(But the bummer is the parking lot. My validation didn’t save me from a $ 29 parking fee. I was there all day, but if it were my money and not the company’s I would’ve parked on the street nearby for free. Guests on a Friday night were families, business folks and a few reunion-looking people.

After arriving in LA, I can say we were beyond tired. The thought of driving somewhere to get something to eat seemed just as ridiculous as us walking across the street to grab something from Burger King, so we were elated that 96th was open for lunch. We went down and had to search for someone to seat us, but when they did, the service was really nice. My Mom and I wanted to split our lunches so we can both have what each other was eating without the bother of sharing plates. My Mom ordered the California salad, which is arugula, tomato, watermelon, goat cheese, walnuts, on aged balsamic with a fantastic vinaigrette and I ordered Rock Shrimp Pasta that had fresh tomatoes, spinach and mozzarella cheese. Both plates were very fresh and super delicious. The servings were definitely big and we both were super full. Our bill ended up being around $ 35 at the end and I can honestly say it was worth it. So if you are staying at the Renaissance and need to eat somewhere close to LAX, definitely hit this spot up. It is definitely quiet enough to have a great conversation and the bar and the lounge area is really nice.

This particular restaurant is located on the 1st floor of the Renaissance Hotel LAX. Which, after a crushing defeat on Saturday at the Utah-USC game, it was nice to unwind in our hotel without having to go out and then figure out how to get back to the hotel while in a drunken stupor. And a drunken stupor was indeed my state after dining here. Having had two bellini martinis, the peking duck quesadillas, and the sliders, I was pretty much a happy camper. Although, I will say the quesadillas were a bit strange with the combination of having carmelized bananas in it… I had already had a drink and a half by the time I realized that on the menu. Overall, it was a great experience. They had great service, decent food(probably a bit overpriced), and great/strong drinks. Maybe it’s because I’m from Utah and our drinks are way watered down, but for double the price of one at home, but at three times the strength, I was pretty pleased.

5STARSERVICE from each and every one of the lovely people who served us that evening! We enjoyed sharing our dining experience with these folks! Very pleasant and welcoming ambience. Interesting and unique menu, which they carry off quite nicely. 5STARS for their MENU and 4STARS for their EXECUTION. All 3 of us give a thumbs-up to their CAESARSALAD! 1 of us ordered the LOBSTERCOCKTAIL and said it was okay. 1 ordered the USDA Black Angus Filet Mignon and loved it, even though it was a little OVERcooked.(WATCH this.) I ordered the Porcini Crusted N.Y. Strip. The steak was delicious; but WAY more meat than I can eat in one meal. Both the little SALAD they serve before the steak and the bowl of creamed GOODNESS they serve with the steak are FABULOUS! We walked over from the Embassy Suites to the Renaissance to dine in the 96th Street Bistro. It is an EASYWALK and definitely WORTHIT!

Great service, great food. I stayed at the Renaissance this past weekend with two friends and had to grab a convenient dinner because of time. We enjoyed some drinks on draft including a Blue Moon & Stella Artois. We ordered the filet mignon and the prime rib eye steak at medium well. None of us had complaints. The service was decent, the food was delicious. I’d love to dine here again if I ever need to stay near LAX again.

This restaurant is inside the Renaissance Montura Airport Hotel, Los Angeles. The hotel is situated on Airport Boulevard and 96th street, ergo the name for the restaurant. The restaurant is the main dining spot for this hotel, serving breakfast, lunch or dinner. For dinner, they bring out a typical LAX finer dining restaurant menu, repleat with starters, salads, steaks, and seafood selections, but trying to entice business travellers to stay an eat. The menu is average for the venue near LAX, actually right across the street from the Budget and Avis rental lots a block off Century Blvd. They have a decent selection of eclectic starters, and for $ 14 offer several flatbread concoctions. The entrees are expectable, but they do a decent job of mixing in some creative flavor combinations. Entrees run in the $ 25 — $ 40 range. You can always tell how high priced a restaurant wants to be, because there is a directly proportional correlation between how high the main entrée is stacked in height in comparison with how much they charge. Actually, I had the Atlantic Salmon, and it was prepared nicely, with asian flavors and accessories, including an artistic splash of 2 asian soy/sweet ginger sauces to dip the Salmon bites into for a nice mix. There Napolean dessert with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream was large and tasty, if not classical in construction. This restaurant is really strictly a business venue, so mostly out of town business types stuck at LAX eat here. There wasn’t much to say about the ambiance, The restaraunt’s food is decent., perhaps even slightly above average in comparison to the myriad of similar places in the adjoining LAX hotel restaurants. The wine selection is serviceable. They serve water in a unique tilted glass, forcing you to make a double take that your glasses filled with water and lemon are about to tip over. Service is hotel retaurant standard, which is nothing to get excited about, yet nothing to complain about either. If you’re staying here, try the dinner here if you haven’t a car to go out and explore for more adventurous dining in LALA land.
