I found this place on Unilocal and by the reviews I decided to give it a shot. Rhonda and I consulted first and although I couldn’t make up my mind what to do with my hair she helped me through the process. She cut my hair as short as I asked and dyed it with an amazing brown color. Also the way she washed my hair was so calming and refreshing, lifting all the stress out of my head. I liked everything about this place, the equipments, the clear floors, comfortable chairs and also welcoming and friendly staff. The only thing I had a problem with was the price, in the website for example it says 35 & Up for haircut and blow dry and that was one important reason for me to choose this place, the good affordable price. But it was much more than that and I’m sad that I had to pay that much money. I just like it if they put the exact prices on the website.
All and all if you don’t care about the price or if you go through the costs on the phone before you take an appointment it’s an amazing hair salon to go to.

So I’m a stylist (not at 729 Beauty) and my client recently got her weave done in December by Tamar at 729 Beauty. She notice the braids were tighter than usual but thought it will losses up in a few days. But NO, she said it took a week. She would have called me to do her weave but she wanted to be considerate of my time and not book last minute with me (which I appreciate). Well she took she down the weave last night and her edges are completely GONE. (I will post the pics… it will say hair by Tamar in the caption) I’ve been doing her hair since May of 2014 she has NEVER had her edges start so far back and bald where it looks like she has been wearing weaves for years. I’m was so upset and disappointed to see that this is the lackadaisical talent we have in our community today. That a lot stylist do NOT care or take the time to evaluate the clients hair, history and health of the hair. As well as to find if they recently had a baby to recommend proper service. I did not want to even give the stylist or shop a 1 star at ALL. If it was up to me it would a negative –5 star. My client has beautiful hair and HAD full edges. Now we are here having to recover the devastating damage to what this lady has done.

I took a chance on this place when I was searching for someone to do an updo for my son’s wedding. Everyone was exceptional!
My hair is that wonderful 4C type… although I love it, some stylists look at me and want to turn and run. That wasn’t the case for 729 Beauty. My stylist embraced my kinky hair and I walked out looking like the Queen that I am, and feeling like the Princess that belies my age.
Will definitely be back soon — as everyone from the stylists, receptionist, marketing director, and owner are true gems in the hair care industry!

Love Stylist Jae! I rock a short hair cut, she always does a fabulous job. Plus everyone in the salon is awesome. Beautiful salon and wonderful people.

1^st things 1^st. I called and ask the receptionist if the salon styles natural hair without heat and she said yes. I told her since im new to the salon I wanted to start off with a consultation and I wanted someone who’s experienced with natural hair. She assured me and asked what time did i want to come in. I said 4pm. I made it clear i didnt want my hair straighten.
I arrive about 10 mins late and a stylist comes to the desk she ask me what I wanted done and I tell her a natural style but a consultation and whatever she recommended I need since I just came out of braids.
Fast forward to the detangling. She takes a wide tooth comb at the roots of my hair and starts ripping down my hair shaft. Eeekkk! Wash condition and here comes the «steam» treatment.
She brings over the steamer and starts looking at it foreign like she never used it before. She pulls out the part that holds water and its empty. She grabs someone else who clearly doesnt know how to use this thing either because she pulls out the part where the water drains after a treatment and its semi full. She tells her oh yea that’s fine go ahead. (I have this same steamer at home so I know how its used, im tired of doing my own hair I wanted a professional)
The stylist turns on the machine and it starts to steam my hair for about 5 mins and after that nothings happening hmmm I wonder why??? maybe because its out of water DUHHH!!! 10 mins later she unplugs the machine rinses my hair with warm/​hot water and begins the blow dry.
She sprays its a 10 on my hair and takes a paddle brush from the roots of my hair and rips down with the blow dryer concentrated on my hair strands. Eeek!!!
Despite everthing that has happen im still ok. I tell her I want flat twist in a style I can take down tomorrow once it sets. She gives me a confused look and ask what are flat twist? I told her the double strand twist to the scalp. She says ok I can try.
Fast forward to the end of my appointment. My parts arent straight the twist are coming a loose in the back and she gives me this puzzled look and ask if I wanted to take it out or put a scarf on. She wasn’t even confident in the bullshit she just did. Thats what set me off. Her lack of knowledge and confidence.
I was livid I asked her if she would walk out like this. I looked like I was getting ready to head to trial for death row. Then she tries to blame me saying I was taking it out tomorrow so she didnt give me a polished style WTF??? Ive never been anywhere that doesn’t style your hair in a polished way. She then tries to explain she’s a professional. And my last words to her were but this is what you «professionally» did smh. I payed $ 65 for someone to rip out my hair and «try» a style in my hair.
Naturals beware this isnt the salon for us. This is for the weaving and press and curl type chicks.

I love this place!!! Omg from the moment I walked in it was nothing but kindness. The give you great deals n work with you the workers absolutely great especially DD, she did my hair justice I have never had a weave this great every before, I recommend anyone who wants to get a great hairstyle.

Love Love Love this salon!!! I follow Kristen P. On Instagram and scheduled an appointment. I was nervous bc not many stylist that I tried would give me the color I wanted, so I started to color my own hair. I came in praying I was going to get a stylist who would help change my dark purple hair to a beautiful red shade. Kristen did that and more!!! Kristen was very professional, sweet, funny, honest and knowledgeable! Kristen really took her time and catered to me. Kristen P did an awesome job! I found a new stylist!!! Kristen also does lash extension (ladies she can do it all)!! Can’t wait to return! The salon is beautiful and the staff is awesome! Look out Kim Kimble salon, no shade but 729 Beauty is sooooo much better! Don’t forget ladies Ask for my fav Kristen P! Like one client says «she’s a diamond bling bling »

After getting lost in Macy’s I sashayed my way through the mall searching for a directory. Before j could locate one I noticed large frosted windows and a glowing orange 729 beauty logo. I made a beeline to the glass front door and walked right into two smiling faces! The women who greeted me were very warm and receiving, eager to share with me the exclusive products they carry.
I had an evening appointment with Sadou the Artist, who is and always will be my hair savior. He worked my natural curls into silky smoothness! I especially loved the care he took gently detangling my hair. Even more impressive was the steam treatment I received to deeply condition my hair. Sadou was also able to supply myself and another client with menus so we could order food during our appointment.
The salon was beautifully decorated and had everything you needed — even an iPhone charger. The frosted privacy glass was a nice touch — nothing more awkward than strangers walking by and seeing every possible texture on your head… The shampoo bowls are the most comfortable I’ve ever been in and even have the massage feature. The bathroom is also lovely! I was also offered wine which I graciously accepted after a long day of work. Warm people and environment! It was my first time here but I’ll definitely be a regular!

I loved my experience ! And most importantly I loved my hair !! Everyone was so nice and professional and the price was reasonable! They were even nice enough to give me a mall discount for working there. Amazing place! I even recommened to my mom and would definitely go back again !

After transitioning my hair and wearing it in weaves for over a year, I had no idea what to expect after my services! Lucky for me, Sadou can handle anything! My hair was silky straight when he got done, I literally thought that was impossible. He washed, steamed, and styled my hair in under two hours. He was also so kind, that means a lot to me! The salon was very clean and a great addition to the Crenshaw mall. Blessings on your business 729 staff, you’re doing a great job!

Best hair experience in my life! Everyone was very professional but yet personable and easy to talk to. The location is great and the purpose to give people the best beauty experience is definitely here. Sadou did a great job and is my new stylist hands down. Thanks 729 beauty for a great experience!

Love this place! The customer service here is amazing! They are all so attentive to your needs! I have been looking for a place since my old hairstylist stopped doing hair and by chance I found this place and have no regrets! Mary is awesome she’s professional and very honest which I can appreciate that she does amazing work! I have found a new home for my hair!

Best salon hands down!!! The staff is awesome, knowledgeable, and takes care of you the moment you walk in the doors. Owners Rhonda and Michelle are the BEST gals this side of the Mississippi River. The salon is very elegant, classy and rich with taste. Hair care is their priority, and I trust them with my long locks. Last but not least the shampoo massages will have you hook the first time.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Went to Kristen for my lashes and they came out PERFECT, so natural and flawless. The entire staff is so nice and helpful! Can’t wait to return!

The salon is very upscale and comtemporay. The stylist are all well trained professionals who are at the top of their industry. Kristen Payton, my stylist did a great job with my extensions! my color looks soft and amazing. The quality of the hair is I purchased here is incredible. I definitely recommend 729 Beauty!

Ambience: The overall look of the salon is very modern and chic. All of the stylists and customers have a great energy that is tangible as soon as you walk in. Immediately upon entering you can either go and meet your stylist or wait in a private lounge area where you can grab a cup of coffee and read a magazine. Undoubtedly someone will be along soon to ask if they can help you with anything or if you would like a mimosa to help wind down your day. Get a massage in one of their massage chairs while you get a shampoo and just completely relax. As far as hair salons go it doesn’t get much more relaxing. The entire place is immaculate.
Parking: Plenty of free parking in the mall parking structure, no complaints here at all
Stylists: Incredibly friendly, talented, and professional. I have been getting my hair done by Sadou for about 2 years now and can personally vouch for his talented hands whether it is a more simple press and curl, an up-​do, and don’t get me started on how amazing his extensions/​weave artistry is… leave his chair and you will be ready to slay.
Highly recommended!

I actually have natural hair and I wanted to find a non-​scissor happy hair stylest that could blow my hair out, flat iron it and keep it healthy. My stylest at 729 beauty not only has kept my hair healthy, but I’m finally seeing more growth. He trims when it’s necessary and he’s very sensitive to the fact that I hate having to cut my hair. The salon itself is more like a hair spa. When I leave, my spirit always feels lifted.
