Two burgers, two beers, chips and guacamole, 1 plain pasta with nothing on it for my kids to split = $ 77.00 plus tip,(total $ 90). The food was average. Not sure why it’s so pricey, it’s basically a sports bar. I was curious about this place for a while, but will not be returning. Weird… Just double-checked: the menu on their website has lower prices than the menu in the restaurant.

Lovely place service was nice. However, food came cold and over cooked. The sodas tasted like dirty bar water.

Great place to drink at night. Sadly, it is a terrible place to watch football, unless you are a Bengals fan. Tried to watch the Giants/Eagles game this morning but they would only put it on outside where El Niño was brewing. Not a soul was outside but me. Everybody else was inside watching the Bengals game on no less than(7) TVs. Don’t waste your time trying to watch football here, unless you are from Cincinnati.

5 line is a pretty chill place to hang out with friends, grab food and drinks, and watch some football! Their pizza comes from the famous big mamas and papas pizzeria right next door, so if you love BMPP you will love the pizza. They have the classic bar staples with a little more freshness and flavor. Their happy hour deal can’t be beat. Buy one get one for a penny. Yeah a penny! Try the Hershey’s chocolate martini! Alcoholic chocolatey goodness! If you find yourself in the eagle rock area during happy hour, 5 line is the place to be!

Great, small place for drinks and sports. The strawberry mojito and rumchata were both dee-lish. Nachos = yum. Pizza = crispy. Salad = fresh. Fresh-baked pretzel = oh so hot n buttery. Just what you need to wind down after a long day at work or during a football or basketball game.

There is nothing, and I mean NOTHING better than watching a Steeler fan wear all their piss yellow gack to a Bengals dominated place and walk away defeated and quiet. The quiet part, especially. GETTHEFRIES. Salty, but excellent. The wings are too small. But decent. Plus, I’m not sure they can offer more flavors, but they’re not there to cater to me. Service was slow, but a full 3 ½ hour game, I didn’t care. A lot of people will, which is why it isn’t a perfect 5. But damn… great to see other Bengal fans. Also… you want to see the prettiest girls from Cincy come out and support, this is the place. My God, are they hot(and I just returned from Cincinnati)

Horrible service. I left a photo of the server who was extremely rude. Second time visiting here and thought my second experience would be better. It wasn’t. The lady was mean and rude to my friend who was visiting from out of town and my family. I don’t know what her problem was. We weren’t rude or loud like the rest of the Sunday football fans, so I don’t know what could’ve been the catalyst for her attitude aside from her just being a mean person or a prejudice lady. Either way, not coming back here again. It was a convenient spot, but aside from that the food is mediocre. Gave it 2 stars because Hugo, the other server was extremely nice and gave us the comment cards to fill out. Thanks Hugo!

My review is mostly for the beer and service. Did not really eat any food since in my opinion it is overpriced. We did order fries which were good, but how does a basket of fries cost the same as the beer I ordered?! Service was good. It was pretty busy for a weekday and we were always helped by the waitress quickly. Large selection of beers. Very happy about that. Parking is on the street or metered spots in the back. There are restrooms — two stalls in the women’s towarss the back entrance from the metered parking. Kind of dark in there for me. I don’t like when there isn’t much lighting especially since it’s right near the back door and anyone could easily hide in there or something. Maybe I’m just paranoid honestly.

We come here often. We like it here, and we like the beer selections. When it first opened, we were able to bring our little one with us because they allowed us to order a pepperoni pizza from next door and he could eat it here while we ate and drank from their menu. Today, not during any dinner or lunch rush whatsoever, we came into the restaurant to eat and have a few beers for my boyfriends birthday. This was the place he chose. Melissa told us we could sit wherever we wanted and being as there were many many open tables we opted for a table that had more space for the three of us. Our 9 year old wanted pepperoni pizza from next door so we ordered him one and brought it over. Meanwhile, we planned to spend well over $ 50 at 5 Line for the two of us. After giving us the go ahead to sit where we like, Melissa came over and said«you’re sitting in a table that seats 6, and I will have to ask you to move if this table is needed.» That’s acceptable… I had been a waitress/bartender for over 10 years and I know the drill. You don’t want to miss out on a big table(or tip in her case) bc a smaller table is seated there. So ok… I get it… Even though she gave us freedom to choose anywhere we wanted… Fine. But then she told us we couldn’t bring the pizza from next door(as he is already eating it and we already ordered beers). She said«it’s a separate restaurant and you can’t bring in outside food.» So, now we are 2 for 2. We didn’t choose the right table, and we brought pepperoni pizza from next door because they don’t have one. So basically she was saying not only that she doesn’t want us sitting where we are, but we essentially have to leave because of the pizza. It’s not like we can send a 9 year old away to eat pizza on his own and we aren’t leaving and paying for full beers without drinking them. After we asked, very bluntly, if we were being asked to leave she quickly changed her tune and said«no for next time, but manager may say something to you.» Our thought is: who cares? If a 6 top comes in and the table is needed we would have been more than understanding if we needed to move but to tell us before that happens(and it never even did) is just giving us shit to give us shit especially after we were given freedom to choose the table we wanted. And so what if he brought in pizza from next door? If you had pepperoni pizza on the menu we would have ordered from there instead and, most importantly, we dropped $ 50 on the two of us and would have spent more if we felt welcomed enough to do so. We came there because of a birthday and because we like it but there is nothing on that menu a 9 year old wants to eat. They should be happy that we chose to spend our money there instead of only next door. We are repeat patrons and we weren’t hurting anyone by doing that. This definitely makes us rethink coming here again.

Food is delicious, space is cool and service is ok… If u get a good waiter, it’s an awesome experience. If u get a shitty waiter, then it could drag. Advice for server Melissa, Don’t tell people to sit wherever they want and then give them shit for choosing the wrong table… And if the adults are going to drop more than $ 50(and it definitely would’ve been more if it wasn’t for the shit u have us), then don’t worry about the $ 8 pizza combo that the 9 year old brought in. Everyone else seemed cool and the atmosphere was lively. Hopefully this is an isolated event… If not, steer clear from server Melissa and u should have a good time.

First timers to the 5 Line Tavern and we loved it to say the least. There was a group of about 12 of us for my pal’s birthday and we all enjoyed ourselves immensely! I’ve already turned a couple of friend onto this place. The atmosphere is lovely and with 50 beers on tap you’ll always find one that you love. We had two waitresses that sort of tag-teamed our table. Stephanie was superb and we really felt like she cared that it was my friend’s birthday when she brought him a molten lava cake with a candle. Our other waitress, Eleanor, was very knowledge about the beer list and was kind enough to bring me a few samples before I settled on their Yeti Russian porter. A really nice touch. Thanks to Eleanor and Stephanie for taking the best care of us! We will definitely be back for more German Sausage platters soon as well as for the 5-Star service. –D.C.

Came here to grab a bite with my bestie and catch up. They have indoor and patio seating with lots of TV’s to catch the game and a bar to sit at if thats your thing. Unfortunately they were only showing the Dodger game on the projector which didn’t really give a great view of it — just a faded picture on a wall. Don’t know why they couldn’t change some of the several TV’s they had to watch the game — could have sworn we were in LA! We grabbed a high table and took a seat. Service was on point. The waitress always came by to check on us and refill our drinks without us having to ask which was nice. We ordered the chili wings which were really good. We also got a sausage pizza and chicken marsala to share. They were both good but nothing special about them. Pretty generic over all.

After some debate, my fiancé and I decided 5 Line is good, but not great or exceptional. The problem they face is one of competition… gastro pubs are ubiquitous now so it’s difficult to really stand out. 5 Line happens to look and act like many of the others I’ve been to. They have a fair-sized beer selection, which is nice. My fiancé has been there twice and tried the pizza, which he said was okay but on par with places like the Luggage Room. When we went together, we shared the pretzel and sausage plate. It was a fair portion of food; we received three types of sausage: andouille, chicken, and Italian. All were tasty, but none were amazing and my fiancé felt that he could have purchased them at a deli and cooked something just as good at home. The sausages were accompanied by a large pretzel, nicely salted, soft, and warm. But again, there’s so many places now that serve sausage and pretzels. With beer. Maybe Eagle Rock doesn’t have many, but there’s a glut in nearby cities and neighborhoods: Pasadena, Echo Park, Silverlake, and downtown LA. The service was prompt and our waitress friendly. If Unilocal allowed half stars, 5 Line would probably get a 3.5, and I would return here as I do think something about it seems less generic than some of its counterparts, such as King’s Row or Congregation Ale House.

I love all these new restaurants popping up in Eagle Rock! 5-line is a very cool and cozy hang out spot to chill with your significant other or hang out with friends. My wife and I just happened to take the little ones and they had a good time too. We ordered a regular all American burger, the sausage platter, and an order of their nachos. I must say the basic burger was fantastic. It wasn’t anything fancy but just good and simple ingredients. The nachos were just ok and the sausage also good with three different verities on the platter. They have a long list of draft beer as well as the bottled kind to choose from. I thought it was more about the atmosphere than the food but that’s not to say I wouldn’t go back to try other things on the menu. Atmosphere: 10⁄10 Food: 7⁄10 Location: 10⁄10

Nice gastropub/restaurant/pub in Eagle Rock. There’s a nice brewery vibe coupled with good food, a nice atmosphere and good service. Tons of beers on tap, Italian food(pizza pizza pizza), some German dishes, salads, appetizer, a full bar all on one menu. Love it! A small lot in the back and tons of street parking. I loved this place.

Located in a great neighborhood of Eagle Rock! No way! If your in the area and just want to chill out and grab a beer or two then look no further. You came to the right spot. 5 line tavern is one of those hipster bars that you can relax with your favorite drink, watch a game or catch up with friends. We’ve been here a few times and always a good experience. Great staff, awesome beer selections, and reasonable prices. Happy hour is a bonus! Now they have a special from 11 to 6, buy any drink get the second one for a penny. Awesomeness! I am definitely taking advantage! They also have great food varieties to choose from and you can also order from BMPP next door. We ordered the half Hawaiian and half Mexican pizza which was an excellent choice that was recommended by our awesome waiter. This place is definitely worth trying out when you’re in the Eagle Rock area. Best to come by during happy hour!

Finally, Eagle Rock gets the kind of cool, hipster bar it deserves. 50 beers on tap. Great music and a cool bar staff and waitresses. Just looking at the drinks menu was enough to make my jaw drop and scan the room to stake my claim and get ready for a session. I also dropped by here for the world cup back in summer. Damn this place was packed but what a great crowd. All in all this place adds a new wave of trendiness to Eagle Rock. Keep it coming! (At the back they have a cheese bar. Odd I know, but hey. I like cheese so who’s complaining!!) Parking: Theres a Lot out back. Plenty of street parking. If you drive one street away then theres no meters
