Outrage Salon

I have been going to Outrage Salon and Naomi is a color genius. I have to get roots done monthly and not only does it always match the rest of my hair but it matches the tone of my face which when you get older, can be a problem. She is always cheery and sometimes acts as friend and confidant when i need it. I have really curly hair which can also be a challenge and she works wonders from pix I bring in or just getting real with my face shape and style. Love ya, Naomi!

Mariah is a hair goddess. She has taken my hair from blah to blonde and from blonde to red. She is a master with color. When I leave the salon, my look is tasteful, shiny, and healthy. (My wallet may suffer, but it’s worth it for a good hair cut and color.) Thanks for always doing great work with my hair, Mariah!

I love it here! I’ve been coming in to see Sharon since April. She took me in after I had let my sad strands fade from a box dye. I had gone in to get an ombré effect (I’ve been going back and forth with this look for 5 years) So she took it slow and went from vary rich caramel highlight to BAM blonde! I loved every step of the way and will most likely do it again haha.
Ohh and other thing!!! She worked my my schedule!!! Big plus since I was either in school or working one of my two jobs

Beautiful, clean salon! These girls (and guy) are super professional and talented hairdressers. The energy is high and the shop is well-​thought out. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit! PS the artwork is AMAZING and a must-​see.

I have finally found my stylist in Sharon. She has listened to what I want and also is intuitive to what I need. She has mad skills in coloring and has created a beautiful cut for me.
I love the environment of the salon as well and they treat you love you are at home.

Totally recommend Outrage Salon to any and everyone. I live in Menlo Park and I make the trip out to see James every few weeks for a color and my teenage son sees him for a hair cut. We have been coming here for 5 years and wouldn’t even think of going anywhere else.

I have been meaning to write a review on this salon for several years. Better late than never. I followed Sylvia Koenig from her previous salon and remain delighted that I did ! Sylvia does a great job with my haircut, highlights and low lights. She is friendly but professional which also summarizes the tone of the salon.
My experience at Outrage has always been positive so I highly recommend them and Sylvia, in particular.

Amanda knows to handle long hair and she does an amazing job cutting it. I finally found a great hair stylist. It only took me 8 years living in Los Altos and dozens of expensive, bad or mediocre haircuts. The $ 55 price is pretty good for this area and such a great haircut.

I have gone to Outrage and had many hair stylist work on me. My daughter suggested that I try Nikki and I love her! She knows what to do and I always leave looking great! II have been with Nikki for 4 years. She recently left, so now I am in search again.

There’s many things great about Outrage salon– convenience, parking, hours, etc. But my experience there was too enjoyable to pass up giving an outstanding Unilocal review for!
I made an appointment for cut & color two days before and was able to get my desired time slot. Always appealing! They gave me a confirmation call the day before to remind me, which after years of working in a salon I definitely appreciate my customers coming in early/​on time!
Now here’s the kicker of the review: I had not got my hair cut in three years. 3. THREE! I had such anxiety about losing my length I could never man up and get it done. And in those three years, I had box-​dyed my hair blonde, black, and everything in between. Soooo much damage. Hair stylist’s worst nightmare.
I was placed with the stylist Amanda who was nothing short of amazing. I would highly recommend her. While I was nervous at first, Amanda was extremely sociable and had super cute hair herself so I instantly knew I was in good hands. I had to get a solid 3 inches of damage cut off my hair in addition to my dark brown coloring. She layered it perfectly – and for me this is a tricky issue since I have naturally wavy/​curly hair, layers can be a disaster for me! Well, not by Amanda’s books. I walked out of Outrage with confidence renewed and a huge smile on my face!
If you don’t have a normal go-​to salon or stylist like I lacked, I would definitely suggest trying out Outrage/​Amanda. I was not disappointed, and have compliments left and right to show for it!

I booked a fairly last minute appointment at Outrage for a bridesmaid updo and I was scheduled with Amanda. Not only did she give me a style that was exactly what I was hoping for (romantic side bun with lots of twists and a bit of curl), she was friendly, knowledgeable of the current trends, and had fabulous hair herself — the ultimate test of stylist legitimacy! Thank you Amanda for making my hair perfect and for helping me look good in the pictures!

I had a great experience! Rudy could not have done a better job! I love my cut and I felt that he could see what I was trying to explain and knew how my hair would act. He did a fantastic job and I felt great leaving the salon. Normally I do not like to spend a lot of money on a haircut but this was worth it! I get compliments everywhere I go and I am definitely going back to Rudy to have my hair cut again in the future!

Yesenia (sp?) did a great job on my sister’s hair. The blowout wasn’t exactly what she would do herself — more fluffy — but the cut was great and it settled down nicely. She has naturally wavy hair, medium length, so is a bit tricky to style.
The salon was friendly and helpful. My sister was visiting from out of town and they were welcoming.
We would recommend both the salon and Yesenia.

Kari has been doing my hair for a while now and is someone you don’t want to lose!
She is knowledgeable and understanding and is always continuing her knowledge in her industry. Plus she’s a lot of fun too which I love!
She does everything; but she’s really great at Brazilian Blowouts and updo’s.
I just found out that she’s moved salons. She’s now at Ciana Salon (227 Plaza Central in Los Altos still) and you can reach her at (650) 208‑6170.

WORST haircut ever. It seemed like the stylist wasn’t comfortable holding scissors and was butchering my hair. I asked if she could use clippers instead, and she said she doesn’t use them.
So I left $ 45 poorer with a terrible haircut. «Outrage» all right!

I am heading to Outrage to have Nikki cut my hair. I have been going to her consistently for almost two years. Last time it was a drastic change– to very short hair. She helped me pick the right style and it has looked great since the day it was cut.
I am now a Nikki loyalist– so don’t go booking her all up so it’s hard to get in to see her. :)

Marina is simply the best. Very thourough and patient, she listens to exactly what you want and then it’s like she can do magic. I have long hair and a ton of it, even though each strand is fine. Marina is always able to make me feel like a million dollars when I leave. I’ve gone from golden blonde to a stunning brunette, highlights, lowlights, short cuts, longer layers… Marina can do it all.
I’m so glad that she’s in Los Altos so close to my work or I’d have to travel the bay to find her!
Very reasonably priced for expert services.
I won’t go to anyone else now.

I think they have good skills (no clippers, just scissors), but probably not very good for men’s hair. I just got my hair and after 45 minutes, it’s no better than what I would get from a supercuts.
You probably have to know what kind of hair you want before going in, ask them to style it for you and they may give you a hairstyle from the 80’s.
One annoying thing about this place is that they don’t accept credit cards or debit cards. Really annoying since the WaMu… errr Chase charged me $ 2 and Wells Fargo will charge me another $ 3. So my $ 35 haircut (they had a special) is really $ 45 ($ 35 haircut + $ 5 tip + $ 2 ATM fee + $ 3 non Wells Fargo ATM fee).

Cute name, great location & upbeat staff.
My stylist was Marina, and I liked that she was friendly but not overly chatty.
No product pushing here.
My hair looked healthier upon leaving, but my bangs were curled awkwardly. Nothing a little water and styling can’t fix. But it leads me to believe that this salon is not up with the current styling tricks.
Quite a few male clients.
Price was reasonable for shampoo, cut & style: $ 50.
