I’ve seen Dr. Susanna Shen since at least 2005 and she’s been the primary person I go to for aches/​pains, colds/​flu, stress, stomach upsets, discomfort during pregnancy, etc. I’ve done acupuncture, massage, moxa, and herbal formulas. I highly recommend her!

Dr. Susana it’s just amazing. My mom came to visit me from my country, a year ago she break her femur so after two 4hrs flights she was having an awful pain on her leg, it was so bad that she couldn’t even walk with her cane. A close friend recommended Susane, honestly I was skeptical about acupuncture, but she made me change my mind. She work so good with my mom, she even went to the office when she didn’t have any other patient just to treat my mom. After just 3 sessions my mom was walking all over the mall shopping like nothing. I’m really pleased with Susana for her work and I strongly recommend her to anyone that needs some pain free life. Needless to say, they have a freshly clean facility, with a great location and enough parking spots.

Dr. Susanna is simply amazing. My mom started to have so intense shoulder and back pain, that she couldn’t really bend, pick up stuff, and reach. So I took her to see Dr. Susanna, who I had seen once or twice in the past. After the first session with acupuncture, plus the «Jiu» (heating the skin with a burning herb cigar-​shaped stick), and some pressure massage, my mom felt a lot better with her shoulder. and the next morning, her shoulder pain was almost gone, but the back pain was still there and more obvious, that is was hard for her to go up and downstairs. So she had 2^nd session, with thicker needle and moxibustion, again, my mom was a lot relieved afterwards, so we immediately scheduled 3^rd session. The 2^nd day after the 3^rd session, I got back home after work, and seeing my mom is cooking and looks really happy, a totally different person from the one who was in huge pain, and you could see the suffering all over her 3 days ago. My mom did the 4^th session and she is all well. Neither my mom nor me was a firm believer in traditional Chinese Medicine, but Dr. Susanna rocks, and we will go to her on top of our primary care doctor for discomfort.
Another thing I would like to mention is that during the whole process, Dr. Susanna is very easy to work with, she definitely puts the interest of the patient first, she is very flexible to get my mother scheduled for continuous four days treatment. My mother was anxious, and scared of the needles at first, Dr. Susanna listens very well to my mother’s concerns, and she is very patient to explain everything to her, and is attentive to my mother’s needs during the treatment. I personally think she is the best Acupuncture Dr. period, at least best what I have known and heard!

Dr. Shen is, in short amazing… I have been to four different acupuncturist the past 15 years and no one even comes close. True healing. No matter where you are in the bay area it’s worth your drive.

I don’t normally write reviews, but this time I thought I should.
I’ve had acupuncture about 20 times at a few different places. I’ve never had any problem before visiting Dr. Shen. I saw her three times before I decided to not return.
On one of my visits acupuncture actually HURT. Normally, after all the needles are inserted someone will come and visit after about 10 minutes to make sure everything is good. No one came. I was covered with needles so there’s no way i could pluck out the needles that were hurting my arm. And I was frickin’ freezing too. She forgot to turn on the heat and left me there for about 25 minutes. NO BUENO.
Not only did they lack customer service but all my problems got worse that she was treating. The herbs she gave me seemed to make my insomnia WORSE.
I gotta give a huge THUMBS DOWN to Dr. Shen. She may be well intentioned but… we know what the road to hell is paved with.

Dr Shen is amazing. I was overwhelmed when I woke up with Bell’s Palsy. Dr. Shen started treatment and I began to see improvement immediately. She has been very helpful in working around my schedule even though her practice is very busy. She really knows what she is doing.

My friend recommended the center as I experienced back pain from an ankle fracture. I wasn’t sure what to expect… but acupuncture has been around for thousands of years and it is covered by my insurance… so I figured, all I had was upside. It took a few treatments, and I began to experience noticable results. Susanna and Karen are wonderful therapy providers and they have helped my recovery process much more than I had originally expected.

I tried several Chinese doctors before I found Dr. Susanna Shen and have been staying with her ever since. Every time I don’t feel well, especially when I had neck pain or back pain, she is the one I go to. Not only her diagnosis and treatments were so effective, but also she is very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. She is always so patient and tries her best to help every way she can: accupuncture, massage, medication, advice on diet, etc. It has always been a pleasure to visit her, after coming out of her office, I felt much better both physically and emotionally.
She has been practising Chinese medicine for over 20 years and teaching Chinese medicine in college at the same time for many years. She is very passionate about medicine and helping patients. Dr. Shen is a doctor you can trust as she cares deeply about her patients’ physical health as well as feelings.

I have been seeing Dr. Susanna Shen almost a year now. She is really kind and has been a good listener. I go every one to two weeks for a variety of issues — allergies, digestion, fatigue, pain (shoulder, back), and managing stress. She asks me what I am struggling with and tailors the treatment. I find acupuncture very good for re-​balancing my body and enabling me to cope with minor pain & injuries (from running, tennis & soccer) and chronic issues like allergies. I have appreciated being able to visit regularly. (Note: I have been using acupuncture since 2004 and Dr. Shen is as good as my favorite acupuncturist in Boston).

Back when I worked in Mt. View, I used to come here once a week for acupuncture, herbs and acupressure massage.
The staff processed all my insurance forms for me, so I paid only a $ 15 co-​payment.
Everyone who works here is friendly, gentle and knowledgeable.
