We have had many shared projects with HPS, and we’ve found their team professional, courteous, and knowledgeable about all aspects of home maintenance and common service issues around a building. In general I believe the service is for higher net worth folks with larger homes and no time/know-how to fix things, but for that niche I can think of no better company to recommend. I like their business model, and believe that by having trained folks in your home doing recommended maintenance every quarter you can actually save money by not allowing little problems to turn into big problems. Finding small leaks and moisture problems early is one such example… same with pests. Good team, good concept.

I hired Home Preservation Services recently to install a new fan in my apartment. They did a great job, and cleaned everything up really well before leaving. It was a smaller job, but I was happy with how it turned out. 4 stars because it was a little pricey.

Worked with Steve & his team recently, and had a great experience. Work was done properly, and it looks great. Will be using them again.

The service appears to be more than my humble house would require. It would be great if the service was tiered for simple homes. I probably could be a repeat customer. Even when it was obvious that the service was not going to be suitable for me, the owner took time to respond to a question confirming my perception regarding termite services. I thank him. Perhaps there will be tire red services in the future.

Their website doesn’t clearly say it, but I think this company’s service is mainly for multi-million dollar homes in places like Los Altos Hills and Atherton. We own a more middle-class home in Sunnyvale. Our experience with HPS was not great. It was quite expensive, and I found the contractors that they used left a lot to be desired. The worst was the plumber that they contracted to work on my home. When repositioning the dryer, the plumber crushed the dryer vent, which caused the dryer motor to burn out. HPS was very sleazy in trying not to accept responsibility for this problem. They claimed I had pushed the dryer against the wall, when I hadn’t touched it at all. When I heard them trying to pin the blame on me, at that moment I knew I had selected the wrong company. Soon after that I got out of their program and stopped wasting my money. I got the feeling that HPS disliked me anyway, because I wasn’t super-rich. If you have a multi-million dollar home and $ 1M+ annual income, then perhaps HPS is for you. Otherwise, it’s better to manage home maintenance yourself, or find a few good general contractors to work with(who are used to working with middle-class customers).
