I had a terrible experience with Ben two years ago and I didn’t report it at the time because I wanted nothing to do with him. Now that my divorce is nearly finalized I’m ready to speak out. Ben agreed to continue to meeting with me and my now ex-wife when I believe he was well aware that the relationship was going nowhere considering that she had just unveiled that she was having an affair and I got very upset and was emotionally raw and hurting very, very badly He repeatedly told me that I needed to calm down in our sessions and did not bother to address the hurt that I was clearly suffering from or the reality of my wife’s indiscretion. She became the victim of my anger in the sessions and it was clear to me that he was partial to her He would spend part of the session talking about his own personal issues concerning his business and there were multiple instances of transference occurring between us because we were all of Jewish background He would talk about his famous relative repeatedly and would treat us more as friends than as clients at times Not only that but he decided to continue working with us because I suspect he was worried about his financial status For your own sake please do not see Ben. He is very unprofessional

I have been taking sessions with Dr. Medved for 6 months now and in that time I have resolved all the issues I went to see him about. He is solution oriented, which I appreciate. His office is cluttered, but his mind is not. Thank you, Doctor!

From the stars, you readers probably know what I think of working with him. Ben has been communicative and flexible in our meeting times and succeeds to understand and empathize. Now I know this may be one of those«duh, of course he does, he’s your therapist» but to all you non-n00bs out there who’s had their share of finding the right person, it’s pretty difficult to find the right therapist. I’ve even referred him to other friends and they are now his clients as well. I can’t say that he’s ever used any specific model of therapy with me because I didn’t blatantly feel like he went down a checklist, and I don’t really care because he’s effective for me. His style works for me and here’s an example of what happened during my time with him: Phase 1: listen, «is this what you mean?», «why do you think that is?», listen Phase 2: listen, «is this what you mean?», «sounds like …», listen Phase 3: listen, «is this what you mean?», «i know you like it when i say X to help you figure things out. can I give you X?», listen(X can be advice) Get the drift? Lastly he’s very responsive to emails, texts, phone sessions, ichat sessions — which I believe are pretty important avenues of communication if need be with your therapist. Call him or email him. He’ll get back to you within 24hrs. Tell him that you read my Unilocal review too.
