Classic Burger

Now that the holidays are over, I have an opportunity to write some reviews I’ve been putting on hold.
Burgers, burritos, breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner, Classic has it covered. Most of the time I’ll swing by before work and grab a breakfast burrito to go (can’t go wrong with those). Dined in a few times when I got an early start; portion sizes are reflected on price and most of their breakfast specials are sub-​$ 9. When dining in, you’ll get a nice carafe for your coffee (other than bringing you your order, there’s no real table service).
Other than the ubquitous breakfast burritos (get those!), I’ve had the pork chops and eggs and steak and eggs. The pork chops were good and were seasoned well, but the steak I got, while expertly cooked, had quite a bit of gristle. I get it, it’s a steak/​eggs breakfast for $ 10 but I think I just got unlucky and got a less than stellar cut (it happens).
Service is quick and I’ve seen people call ahead and pick up their orders.

Location is great, just across the street from my job. Pancake special is amazing. 2 huge teddy bear shaped pancakes, 3 eggs 2 sausages, wish they offered hasbrowns with it call, but it’s more than enough already. Service is super friendly and fast with your order. HUGE menu, probably spend more time finding what you want than waiting for it to come out.
What hooked me my first visit was the Classic Supreme Nachos w/​chicken… bomb. It also comes with the option of Carne Asada.

I like this spot for their bacon n egg breakfast sandwich. It’s not cheap, and not lacking on bacon, worth the price.

I can’t believe this hidden gem has been one minute from my work all these years and I never knew! It looks so unimpressive from the outside, but this is one of the best-​kept secrets in Los Alamitos. Fantastic place for a quick and budget-​friendly meal. The prices are such a breath of fresh air! I seriously come here now mostly because of how good the prices are! Because of the price, this place is making many other places lose my business. Of course, that’s not all: HUGE selection, quality is solid (especially considering its price), food is surprisingly fresh and leaves a good taste in your mouth (especially their sandwiches), and portions are big! (And they serve DELICIOUS breakfast pancakes and eggs for $ ⁵⁄₆ all day!) I’ve enjoyed almost everything I’ve eaten here. Everything seems above par, except perhaps for the cheeseburger (which is a bit ironic, I suppose): the patty is not the best quality. But I’m even willing to give it another try sometime, that’s how much faith I have in this place in general. And the best part about this place: They are HUGELY accommodating and kind and friendly and hospitable and generous. Run by a stellar Greek husband and wife, I believe. You can tell they make their food with love. They will make you feel happy and welcomed and well-​served. Oh! And IMPORTANT TIP: BRING CASH!!! (They charge $ 1 for card use)

Wow. I can’t say how many times I must have driven past this place and thought nothing of it. The bf brought me immediately after his co-​workers introduced him to it.
First of all, the range of options is incredible. It didn’t help that we arrived around brunch, so had the range of viable options: pancakes, breakfast burritos, burgers, sandwiches, tacos, Mediterranean platter… I was slightly overwhelmed, but the owner was incredibly kind, friendly, and hospitable, offering to make items a la carte, and encouraging me to step outside to look at pictures of the food (even as I was already taking up extra minutes to decide).
I ended up going with the Club Sandwich, which was simple and perfect. Quality bread and meat, fresh tomatoes, and plenty of crunchy iceberg lettuce, just the way I like it. Bf happily devoured his pancake breakfast, then went on to «help me out» with the sandwich. Our server accommodated our extra requests with a genuine smile.
As far as casual eateries go, this is an absolute win for me: delicious + cheap + kind, happy servers = definitely coming back.

OMG. I love this place. The western bacon cheeseburger is AMAZING! if you haven’t been here, you need to come here. And if you have been here come again. Lol the restaurant is clean and well kept, very family oriented.

When I’m super freaking hungry after hitting the 24 Hour Fitness Gym right across the street, I’ll walk over here and get my grub on!
This place has a decent array of food on their menu. Nothing too unique here; lots of familiar dishes that everyone can recognize. It’s not exactly the best thing to be eating when I’m trying to get into shape at the gym, but I’m willing to work out a little harder just so I can come back, lol.
The portions versus price is really good! Lots on their plates and the service guys are attentive. Sometimes it gets crowded as it’s a popular haunt for the locals and gym goers; there’s not that much parking in the front. But the fact that it always has someone inside eating is a great sign!

Came here on my lunch break an received great food and awesome service. Everything came out quickly and I was even given a refill for my float. Portion sizes were very filling. Definitely will be back soon.

I want to say that I could give this a good review. I have eaten here throughout the years. I was going to give a good review after today, and opted not to.
He took extra long in taking my order, and stopped several times throughout it. I was patient and didn’t complain or lose anything as I understood that we had quite a few people. We have always been good business for them, spending over $ 50 every visit.
I walked up after my meal and dumped some ice out of my cup as it was 75% ice. He watched me dump out the ice. I asked nicely for a refill (which only happens behind the counter.) he quickly went to grab more ice and I waved my arms no and said please no more ice. He said «I have no time» and put the ice in, again a 75% of the cup scoop on top of the 10% I had. I want to say he has good service, but it was blatant disregard for my request that put me over the top. I will never return here. I should have refused the drink and almost went back and put it on the counter to let him know I was upset.
He has provided good service in the past, which prevents it from being a 1 star review. I cannot however give a nice review to somewhere I will never return.

This place is great! Good big menu. The lady that took my order went out of her way to make me Pico de gallo. She was very, very nice. Great food!!!

Came here after reading the reviews and was not disappointed. Very friendly staff and good food! Loved the atmosphere and I believe that the atmosphere helps make the food. Outdoors has a nice waterfall and on a nice day it feels amazing! I stuck with the classics for food double cheeseburger and chili cheese fries with a Dr. Pepper and loved it. Will be back with my girlfriend and will tell my friends. Thanks for a great experience!

It’s not to hard finding Classic Burger Café across the street from 24 hour fitness. Burger café has the feel of an old sit down restaurant. We have not tried the lunch or dinner yet. This is a favorite spot for locals during breakfast seems to be the busy. The family owned restaurant takes great care of customers. Will continue to stop by this nice establishment.

I ordered an avocado burger and when I got it, I had to remind them that there was no avocado on my AVOCADO burger! Then I noticed how thin the meat was. A waitress asked how our food was and I said it was alright but didn’t taste too great and she didn’t seem to care and walked away. Never coming back here again. GO TO PAULS BURGERS INSTEAD!!! Also they charged me to use my credit card without telling me and no sign posted on or near cash register about it!

Boo is still hungry so we hit this place. The guy who must be the owner is nice and welcoming. The menu is MASSIVE… with a lil of everything. Got Boo a cheeseburger and got me a Club Sandwich. Seems like the locals love it here and the inside is nice and clean.

Came in for lunch. BRING CASH. $ 1 charge for using debit/​credit cards. Staff is friendly. The food wasn’t that great. I’ve eaten here twice. I got a burger with pastrami on it (forgot the name) the pastrami wasnt hot it was more warm than anything. Also I had a special that was a biscuit with gravy eggs and bacon it wsnt bad the bacon was cooked to perfect texture.

The beef taco was way greasy and the meat was basically a paste not chunks of meat. This place charged a dollar for using my card for a eight dollar lunch so it became 9 $.
Bottom line; not worth it. There’s other places nearby, better food that cost half what this place charges.

I have driven by this place at least a thousand times on Katella and never stopped in. Today at work a couple of the guys said they had been there and really liked it so I joined them.
So first impression, you can see the whole kitchen from the order window, the restaurant looks very clean. Second impression, their menu is HUGE!!! It runs the entire length of about half of the restaurant. It has chicken broasted, grilled sandwiched and probably cooked another 10 ways that I didn’t see, they have burgers and burritos, tacos and breakfast, they have pastrami and gyros… boy they have just about anything you can want.
So all of that would be a huge waste if the food wasn’t good. So i sucked up and made a pick. I ordered a gyro sandwich and a drink.
The plate came out fairly quickly with a full order of thick fries. The Pita bread was warm and soft, the meat was delicious, the fries were hot and it came with a potion of tzatziki and a side of ranch (for the fries?).
The food was very good and we will be back…

CLASSIC BURGER never goes out of style
It is also a delight to find a hidden gem. By hidden gem I mean I just either never noticed it or didn’t give it much thought and drove by for about 20 years. Ok so I’m I little slow on the up take sometimes. But I have FINALLY seen the light.
Now that I have be inducted as a Unilocal’er I feel I need to spread my wings, break out my same olé thing cast and try out different places. The worse thing that can happen is you don’t like it but the BEST thing is that you’ll find a HIDDEN GEM just as I did and be glad for it!
So it’s Saturday afternoon and I hanging out with GOTEB. We are running errands and cutting up and having fun. You know basically ackin (yes ac-​kin) a fool and lovin every minute of it! I of course started to get hungry and we were across the street when I noticed this place. It was pretty humid out but not too hot so GOTEB suggested we get ice cream. Why on earth does GOTEB think ice cream is a meal I will NEVER know? I’m surprised he still has all his teeth. I suggested we eat real food first and then get ice cream after.
We shot across the street and found parking right away. I’ve seen this place a ba-​zillion times but have never stopped. There never seemed to be too many cars in the lot so I figured it was NOT the BOMB! We walk in and are greeted with a UBER FRIENDLY SMILE and a HELLO! We check out the menu that is up on the wall above the counter and figure out what we want to eat.
I got the Mediterranean Plate that came with ¼ of chicken, 1 souvlaki, 2 pieces of gyro, rice pilaf, grape leaves, feta cheese, olives, pita bread and soup or salad. I choose the salad which was a choice of Greek salad or regular house salad and you get to pick a dressing. I went with the Greek salad with Greek dressing on the side and a diet Pespi. GOTEB got the Ham steak and eggs with home fries potatoes and wheat toast.
I love breakfast any time of day if I’m in the mood for it, but GOTEB doesn’t so it always amazes me that he will get breakfast for lunch or dinner whenever he has the chance, but he will not ACTUALLY eat BREAKAST! This is a running joke with us. We pay and go sit down.
I get to work snapping picks and checking out the pic on the wall in the restaurant and then make my way to the restroom to wash my hands since I’d been touching dusty things all day. GOTEB was right behind me to do the same.
When we arrived back at our table my drink was waiting for me and as soon as we sat out came my Greek salad which was pretty big! I thought it was going to be some lifeless side salad with 4 pieces of lettuce cut up a cherry tomato, 1 olive and a pinch of feta cheese. BOY was I WORNG and THANK GOODNESS for that. This salad was GREAT! It was a great size for me so I knew it would really fill me up and I would not be gorging myself and could take the rest of my food home.
A little while later our meals came out NICE and HOT! LOVE it when HOT food is HOT! GOTEB’s Ham was pretty big and cooked to perfection. He didn’t need to put a saddle on it and ride it just to cut it or chew it. The eggs were NICE and FLUFFY and the toasted was toasted PREFECTLY and wasn’t hard or burnt. He gobbled it down and remarked how fresh everything tasted!
My food was GREAT as well. Chicken moist and juicy, souvlaki TENDER and MOIST the grape leaves were SUPERB and NOT oily which you get sometimes when people REALLY don’t know how to make them and my rice was FLUFFY and NOT CRUNCHY with I hate!
Over all this place ROCKED! I will for sure be back. It remained me of a burger place I grew up in that like this place had more items then just burgers. This place is AWESOME because it has VARIETY! Breakfast, dinner, roasted chicken dinner or meals, steak dinner, Mexican food, Greek food, burgers, fries, quesadillas, BLT, tuna sandwiches, ham and cheese sandwiches, patty melts, fried burritos or corn dogs, reg burritos, French fries, onion rings, zucchini, mushrooms, chili bowl, hot dogs, Greek chicken, Philly steak plate, pastrami plate, chicken strips, etc, the list goes on and on. I LOVE VARIETY especially when you’re with another person or persons. It makes going out to eat SOOOO much easier because everyone can get whatever they want!
Service is UBER DUPER FRIENDLY and everyone including the cook is NICE! The place is SUPER CLEAN and there is a TV if you want to watch and eat. People call in orders or come in to place orders and take out. There is also a pretty big eating are outside if you don’t mind flies attacking your food! haha, just kidding!
PS this place makes breakfast all day and they are in the process of getting new menus for you to take home so you can call in an order and go pick it up! BAM!

Hands down the best breakfast burrito I have had in the OC in the last 4 years since I moved from LA. In the tortilla’s warm embrace? Crispy bacon, crumbled sausage, eggs, a cheddar cheese blanket and crunchy hash browns. I’m the ultimate bacon lover but the hash browns were what won me over. They let the hash browns sit long enough to get that golden crunch, which most places rush through to get the orders through. :) Such a delightful touch!
p. s. Out of curiosity I weighed in the bad boy and he came in at 1.2 lbs. Definitely something you should split since they don’t re-​heat very well. Also remember to get the salsa regardless if you are eating there or getting it to go. It’s roasted, spicy and delicious!

Classic Burger is a unique establishment. I mean wow… For a ghetto joint, i was impressed~!
Where to start? Where to start? Where to start? Things that may u say hmmmm…
Food:
Colossal Burger: Cheese, ¼ patty, pastrami, grilled onions, one red tomato, lettuce & 1000 island. The pastrami was yucky. I took it all out eventually. The beef patty was good. The patty was not packed on location and was a commercialized patty, but far more juicier & tastier than the average smart & final patties. The bread was too big for the patty and the ends got too moist from all the manteca (gross huh?) which worked well.
Fries — Generic smart & final crap.
Soda — Pepsi line.
Service:
Beyond amazing. The owner took his time to speak with us. He liked the cigar smell (Aging Room) and engaged in dialogue with adding hospitality related questions as well. They were extremely nice and accommodating. Bringing the food to our seat outside was a young kiddo but he was polite. He offered us ranch, utensils, refills and even said thank you when we left. I was shocked on how excellent their service was.
Side Note: Many of my ( Unilocal) friends are aware how big I favor proprietors and my extreme bias for them except when they are bad. In short, when i love, i love hard, when i hate, there is no shortage of animus.
Patio:
This is my favorite part because of my inclination to be one with nature even though i love to devour inhabitants of said nature. I am a simple man with a mind resembling 289,992,933 queries on an excel sheet. YEP =D The patio is quite large, smoker friendly and the sun doesnt always get in the way in the 4 – 7 range. It gets in the way sometimes. I would recommend sitting closest to the parking structure because the trash can is on the opposite side. It’s not like right there but I’m sure no one wants to visibly see a 7×7×5 (LWH) trash bin while eating greasy foods.
Price:
The food is highly economical. It’s one helluva value. I refrain from saying «cheap» because «cheap» is often associated with an inferior product.
