My wife Maryam goes here all the time. They do a great job with quality products. Tried other places but the quality of product is excellent! And ask for Joey!

Jack is a beast! He cut my hair and did an ombré on my growing out balayage. He’s so awesome. Funny as hell. Kept me fully entertained. Then 2 days later I was told I can come in as a walk in for a blow dry and when I got there they had no one available everyone was almost gone. Jack had a client and was going to leave after, but instead he stayed and did my blow out. I have super straight hair so he blow dried my hair and then pinned it up in rolls so that I can pull the pins out right as I was getting ready to go to the party. My hair looked beyond gorgeous. Color, cut, and blow dry. He’s definitely a beast and I highly recommend him.

I’ve been seeing Omar for over 10 years — I followed him from his last salon because he understands that I need a cut that will grow out nicely and color that may not be touched up for months. I am not the best client ever.
I’ve had my hair cut other places but always end up back in Omar’s chair because he does great cuts and I don’t trust anyone else with my color. It’s a bit of an adjustment that he is working on multiple clients at once but Martha and the rest of his team are wonderful.
The prices are pretty standard for the area and worth it.

Updating review– it’s been 8 days, I was hoping my hair would grow out a little and it would be more manageable… Nope…
Hair is unmanageable, I can’t seem to do anything with it. This is possibly the worst hair cut I’ve ever had. I’m so disappointed.
When I said– I want lots of layers, I meant lots of layers, not one.

Best salon in the Northern Virginia area. Joey, the owner is mostly booked but 100% worth the wait. His skill styling, cutting hair; short hair in my case are second to none.

I have been going to Joey on and off for about 4 years. He fixed my hair after a mishap when I first moved to the area, then I found someone closer to me and stopped making the drive. Since then my old stylist really fried my hair — it was bad — so I immediately made an appointment with Joey to see if he could fix it, and he has done wonders with it so far! One or two more visits and I think it will have transformed to «pre-​fried».
I think they are ALWAYS busy — which makes it feel a bit rushed at times, but it’s worth it for the quality of hair service provided by professionals that really keep an eye on what works for your hair (thickness, color, cut, texture). All in all I would recommend them — Joey is great — and to be honest I’ve never seen or heard a complaint from any patrons using any of the stylists, so I think they’re all capable of creating great «do’s»!

As always Joey gave me a great cut for the wedding I was attending. His cuts are great to start and stay great as they grow out. I love their friendliness and the way the team takes care of me. Thank you everyone for being my favorite Salon.

I used to go to Salon Prive but I found out where Jon works. I followed Jon to Sola @ Hilltop Village next to the new Wegman’s. Jon is formerly of Salon Prive. It is a cool place. My hair looks fantastic.

Excellent. Worth every penny you spend. Kay (hair stylist) did my hair exactly how I wanted it.

Go see KAY! She did an amazing job on my color/​highlights/​keratin treatment. I came in at 3pm and they closed at 5pm but she told me it wouldn’t be a problem to get it done. She went above and beyond to give me the hair I wanted.

I have been going to Salon Prive for years and have followed Joe everywhere! He is great with color and highlights. Just be prepared to spend a few hours when you’re there!

I have been two times and I am enjoying my cuts and color. I use Kay and she is friendly and very engaged during the visit. Salon is great location and everyone is friendly and makes you feel welcome. You pay for what you get so you may find it pricey but, its worth the dollars.

Absolute fabulous experience. Went there for the first time today, was tired of my hair. It was dry and the color was a mess. Omar knew exactly what do do and 1.5 hours later my hair looked better then it has ever. Omar is amazing and has a wonderful personality. His assistants are awesome as well! I highly recommend Omar and salon prive!

Loving my new cut by Jack! I gave him minimal directions and he gave me a fabulous new cut. I’m looking forward to moving to the Lorton area this summer and another appointment with Jack will be one of the first things on my to do list!

I’m not one to usually write reviews about businesses — however, my experience was great and I’m extremely happy with the results that I just had to write one!
A friend of mine recommended Jack at Salon Prive. For his hair coloring expertise. I have naturally dark hair and have had a very hard time finding a hair stylist who truly understands my hair color and how to work with it. In the past, I have gone in to other salons for highlights, ombré, etc. and always ended up something that I haven’t been happy with. Jack took the time to listen to what I wanted, recommended what he thought would work best, and then worked with me to figure out what would be the best option for my hair. The outcome was the best color that I’ve ever had! I’m more than happy with the end result and I can’t wait to come to him in the future to see what else he can do with my hair!
I’m so happy about this place and will definitely be recommending it to all my friends!

Omar has been doing my hair for 10 years and I have total confidence in his talent. For one he listens! He listens to what I want and weighs in with his opinion, the end result is no shock or disappointment. Two, he is constantly learning and improving his craft. The staff at Salon Prive are engaging and professional, from the front desk to the assistant applying the color, my favorite is Martha (VERY GENTLE) onto the capable hands of the stylist. Salon Prive is for everyone who is ready for a GREAT EXPERIENCE.

So, I feel the need to write an update about my experience with this salon. My first review was written after I got home (after Kay styled my hair) and I was really loving it but then I washed it and found a ton of mistakes in the cut! I wondered why she was pushing my hair into my neck and cutting across my neck as a guide. I’d never seen that «technique» before :/​Now, I am lucky enough to have straight hair with lots of texturing at the ends so I can use a straight iron to hide mistakes. I still really liked the color and figured the mistakes would grow out. 6 weeks later I went back to Salon Prive. I did NOT want Kay to cut my hair again so I asked her to just cover my grays and do PARTIAL highlights. This is where my rating goes WAY down. The first time I went in I was given a fairly steep discount (or so I thought) as she wanted to help me and fix the «green». She charged me just over $ 120 for a cut, color and style. Wow, what I deal. She made it seem as though she was doing me a favor… When I went back the second time she WELL made up for it by charging me $ 150 (and that’s with a «20% discount») for JUST a root touch up and PARTIAL (yes, partial) highlights! Ummm… seriously! This is Lorton, VA not NYC! After a tip I walked out spending $ 180 and didn’t even have a new haircut. Maybe I should have asked what it was going to cost but never in my mind did I think I would be charged that much for partial highlights and NO cut! I felt completely ripped off and won’t be back. No business should be able to charge that much $$ for a PARTIAL highlights. Beware… ask for detail price BEFORE service.

Been here many times. Appointments are highly recommended just like any other salon. This isn’t Super Cuts folks! I feel the pricing is reasonable for the service, runs 120 for cut and color, the only thing I wish was that when you do make an appointment their would be more focus. They are fast but Omar runs between so many people it can feel rushed at times. I will keep going back as he does a good job!

This review is based on a haircut/​experience I received last summer.
Not impressed. Just to note, I have Asian hair that’s a little more thick than fine and I have a lot of it. The cut I wanted was simple: a 1 inch trim with short layers and a little bit taken off of my bangs.
Boy this was not worth $ 65. My layers were so heavy and choppy after this cut. I’m used to having a really smooth transition between layers and when I bring my hair to the front of my shoulders the layers create a really nice ‘cascade’ effect at the ends. The cut I got here made it seem like I had three or four very apparent and chunky layers of hair… and the ends seemed almost blunt. It even made my hair look less silky due to the abruptness of the layers. The only thing I was satisfied with were my bangs. I ended up going to another salon 3 weeks later to have the cut corrected and thinned out.
The stylist I had was actually very pleasant and friendly. But before I left, she gave me a strange look… as if I had something stuck in my teeth or hanging out my nose. When I got into the car, I saw in the mirror that I had a whole bunch of hair bits all over my face. Why couldn’t she have taken a sponge or towel and wiped all that off when she clearly saw it? Maybe I’m being petty, but this is definitely something that I know other stylists are attentive to.
Honestly, I would’ve given this just 1 star based solely on the haircut. But the stylist was nice (except she let me walk out of the salon looking like I had hair growing on my nose), the place is clean and chic, and they let me walk in without an appointment. That was enough for an extra star but definitely not enough to make me ever want to come back again.
