Let’s just start with the shrimp cakes because that’s what I was blown away by. Get them! Savor them. And maybe get another two to go because you’ll want some later. Everything we ordered was tasty and obviously made in house. One of the fellows was even nice enough to make something off the menu to please our two picky kiddos. In their defense, we had been camping for 4 days and they wanted some hearty grub. Lots of options for vegan/vegetarians. The prices are a little steep but it is hand crafted, health food. Overall, it was yummy but maybe not the place to take your very hungry family.

We stumbled upon this place as we were waiting for our ferry to come late that afternoon and we are so glad we did! This place is adorable! The sandwiches we got we very tasty. The kale salad was excellent too. The proseco we ordered was amazing. The whole experience was just the perfect experience to end our time on Lopez Island.

Vitas was absolutely amazing! Such a unique little place and the wine selection was so fun to look around! The selection of vitas house made specials were incredible as well! We had the shrimp cakes and the smoked salmon bites, we also had two paninis that were hand made on their homemade bread! So good would love to come back!

We love this place and come to it every time we are on the island! The staff is so sweet and helpful and the shrimp cakes are to die for! Even my kids love it! There is something for everyone. Go, and if you don’t have the time, go anyways. You will not be disappointed!

We stopped into Vita’s after a day of hiking at Iceberg Point. We grabbed a delicious snack of Asian noodle salad and a marinated flank steak. Both were delicious. We took home a beet salad and Mac & Cheese for later in the evening along with a nice bottle of wine from their eclectic collection. Best meal we had on Lopez Island. We are heading home tomorrow but we’ll be back soon.

They make the best chicken curry salad I’ve ever had. Just wish they made it more often!

The only thing keeping me from giving this place 5 stars is the fact that it is obnoxiously, ridiculously, WILDLY overpriced. The food is delicious, without a doubt, and the service is very friendly. However, for a place that claims to use local(on-island) ingredients, it’s just so much more money than it needs to be. We had one small piece of meatloaf, two tiny shrimp cakes, a little bit of Greek salad and a few slices of beets, and spent $ 50…both of us are now digging through the fridge because we’re nowhere near full.

Just spent a week on Lopez rehabbing a sports injury and I’m pretty sure Vita’s accelerated my recovery. Each day, I’d walk out with an embarrassingly large combination of shrimp cakes, risotto stuffed zucchini, lime coriander carrot salad, rocking’ reuben grilled sandwich, chicken or lamb skewers and the pièce de résistance…ginger cake. I don’t remember my accident, but I’ll never forget my wildly delicious fare from Vita’s — just what the doctor ordered.

Friendly help at the counter. I wanted to try everything in the deli case. Gluten free items are labeled.

A truly great establishment. Friendly folk and GREAT food. Convivial and funky. I recommend, oh, anything on the menu but be sure and try the carrot salad with coriander if it’s available. Pure Heaven.

Arrogant and expensive… The food was not even very good! We purchased 2 crab cakes and 2 pieces of stuffed zucchini for $ 17.00. Tasteless, except for the chipotle mayo for the crab cakes. Thank goodness we had that to drown it all in… Definitely will never go back.

What a treat! Just go and be prepared to find about 10 things on the menu you want to taste. We had the smoked buffalo mozzarella mac & cheese, a beef k-bob, an order of shrimp cakes(why didn’t I think of that!) and a puff daddy tart. Everything was delicious, and be sure to eat on the patio, it’s full of charming eye-candy to discover, and it’s shady! I wish it wasn’t so early in the day or we would have tried some wine, there was a lot to choose from, maybe next time we’ll go to a Friday tasting, either way, I want to go back!

Five of my best friends joined me for dinner at my home on Lopez. I wanted this to be very, very special — and VITAS provided the perfect entrée: Chicken Risotto and dessert: the absolutely devine Hazelnut Chocolate Cake. Because I wanted this to be ‘very Lopez” — Holly saved me a loaf of her French Bread and the Fudge Factory had Lopez Vanilla Ice Cream. Fruit salad, made from local fruit and some choice wines(selected by Bruce) completed the menu. Best part — a glorious Lopez sunset and memories that will last forever. Thank you Vitas!

Very sweet tucked away garden location, this high-end deli is a treat. It is wildly expensive but wildly delicious as well. It’s obvious that everything is made with love, with ingredients grown in their greenhouse or by equally attentive locals. You’re literally walking into the kitchen so it feels very European, with all the ingredients out and visible. It is a visual delight! The wine selection is impressive, very thoughtful and well-balanced. There are many really good affordable wines here and with a few savory nibbles to accompany it, you could have yourself a very special afternoon. The day we went in, the selection of goodies including shrimp cakes, meatloaf, macaroni and cheese and stuffed peppers. Vita’s takes these familiar favorites and makes them sing! We had a slice of «Not yo ma’s mac and cheese.» The cheese melted into the pasta, giving it the most divine texture and it was laced with smoked paprika and fresh herbs and dusted with breadcrumbs. Truly spectacular. This is the kind of food you eat very slowly. I would have loved to try more things but we’d already spent more than we’d wanted to on the island and had to tighten the purse strings. But, rest assured, the island gives back far more than it takes — in breathtaking beauty, warm hospitality and adventure. Vive la vita!

Have been to Vita’s several times for incredible take out and especially for wine suggestions, always stellar. It is fun in the summer to pick up produce from the farmers market on Saturdays(across the street), selecting a luscious bottle of wine to pair with starters or dinner. I always buy two bottles, in case of company or to take back to Seattle for my private wine cellar. always amazing.

Love the patio. Love the food. Love Friday night wine tastings. Love the random interesting events, such as wood fired pizza night or 3 course dinners served upstairs. Vita’s always gives top quality experiences. Lopez would be a sad, lonely place without Vita’s.

Expensive but good. My wife and I enjoyed our lunch but we are surprised at how fast a small meal hits $ 30+ on the island. Still worth stopping by.

Vita’s is well named — wildly delicious. The food is that good. It is a friendly and wonderful place. You can get food to take out, or eat it at little tables in the garden. The garden will feed your eyes. The setting is relaxed but someone is obviously paying close attention to the details and ingredients — everything is done with care and imagination. We’ll be back.
