Abacos Salon & Spa

I am rating my experiences with Abacos 5 stars! I love the atmosphere and the people who work here. Larry cuts my hair and my fiancé’s hair while Heather does my pedis and manis and Terry does my fiancé’s pedis. I always have a great time when I visit the salon, whether I am getting a cut or a pedi/​mani. Larry is amazing with my hair — I absolutely love the way he listens to how I want my cut and how he styles my hair. Heather, Terry and I always share recipes, funny stories, talk about our families and we all just can’t stop laughing. I would definitely recommend this salon to anyone.

I went here only once, and I had a terrible hair experience because the stylist that they gave me was a older fellow who did not care about his job. He supposedly was the best stylist they had so they told me that I was in good hands. Really, his first impression was not good. When I walked up to him he looked like he should work in a Gold's Gym, not in a hair salon. Now, let's get to my personal experience, first this man did not know how to shampoo my hair. He wet me and he insulted me because I am not that tall. I am 5'1. He also had to wash my hair again because he did not wash it well the fist time. Secondly, he was in a terrible hurry. So he just wanted me to get out of the salon as fast as possible. For example, I was supposed to get a glaze put on my hair, blow dry, and flat iron. Next, he just picked a glaze for me because he said it didn't because I had dark anyways. Wow, that was the wrong way to handle that situation. Next came the waiting for the glaze to take, this stylist went and was talking behind my back to the other stylist. Great! Now I am just sitting here wating for my hair to look like crap. Next came the hair washing again. It got so bad that I had to change my clothes. Finally, the blow drying the man kept putting all my hair in my face because he was not doing it by sections but all at once. I commented that this is not how my other stylist does it, but he didn't really say anything. This is because again he was in a rush. Overall, my hair came out big instead of perfectly strait and flat. This was a crappy hair experience. I wouldn't recommend Abacos Salon to anyone.

UPDATE!!!
After asking on talk about maybe trying a new salon, I realized that I still had a gift card at Abacos. I went back and saw Dustin. I gave him 3 pictures of styles, and after talking it over we decided on the one that I liked the most but was concerned about him pulling it off… After about 20 minutes I was convinced that he WAS going to pull it off. I LOVE my new look! I have gotten NOTHING but compliments on my hair.
Dustin always does my color as well and always does a fabulous job from when I went blonde and then back to brunette, he had it completely handled.
