One of the best meals I’ve had in Longview. Ever. Went with 5 people and we all loved our plate and passed them around. Chicken spaghetti, beef tips and rice, fried catfish, and smothered pork chops. Big portions of everything definitely can make two meals. Clean, good service, friendly man at the register. I will be back as soon as I can. You WILL not be disappointed.

Went there for the first time yesterday for lunch with my husband. Service was friendly, speedy, and the food was really good and SUCH a good value. My husband got a cheeseburger and fries, I got the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes, brown gravy, fried okra, and cornbread. I will say some things weren’t scratch made, which I prefer and think most people do when you go to an non-franchise restaurant, but they were delicious. The prices were great, the sweet tea was sweet, and it had a comforting/casual feel. The bad; the atmosphere wasn’t the best, but for an old school restaurant on the south side, it seemed very clean and was spacious. Will absolutely eat here again!

JG score of(+2 for food, +.5 for atmosphere, 0 for price, +1 for fountain Diet Dr Pepper, +.5 for service, +1 for we will return) This was a tasty soul food visit. The Chicken Fried Steak had a good crust and we tried it with brown gravy which was a first for us. Sides included our favorite part of the meal, the turnip greens, which had an excellent texture and taste. Cabbage was also very good but peas were just okay. We began it all with an appetizer of Fried Macaroni Bites… another 1st for us. These we really liked… little triangles of fried macaroni. The atmosphere was a dark and cool large room with plenty of seating and the classic plastic table cloths. Large TV’s on either wall. It had a good feel to the place. The price was okay. 13 $ without a tip left yet or a dessert. That would put it over $ 15 but still worth it. They do have Diet Dr Pepper from a fountain as well as sweet and unsweet tea and Koolaid :) The service was nice and friendly. We were checked on several times. This place is worth a return visit sometime. A man was eating the hamburger steak as we were leaving and it looked great.

Best chicken fried steak in Longview. Word to the wise: opt for the cream gravy instead of the brown gravy. Brown gravy can be a little on the salty side.

I’ve had the pleasure of eating here several times. Its southern comfort food at it’s best. Dine in or take out both a success. My faves, chicken & dumplings and also the baked chicken. The sweet potato pie is amazing. Only set back is they close at 6pm weekdays. Not sure what weekend hours are but I’ll eat here any chance I get.

In a very short period of time, this place has become the«go to» place for comfort food in Longview, Texas. I’ve had just about everything on the menu and the only reason I don’t eat here more often is because I would weigh 400 pounds if I did. The chicken fried steak is as good as you will find anywhere in the area. I love the smothered steak, the meatloaf, the pork chops and the beef tips over rice. My favorite may be the chicken spaghetti. All of the sides are excellent and the dessert is good too. The portions are large(as they should be) and the service is extremely friendly. They are constantly checking on you to make sure you are okay I wish they were open later for dinner but, hey, I’ll take what I can get. Judging by the ever increasing size of the crowds, the word is out. Divine Catering is the place to go for southern/comfort/soul food. Huge smiley face!
