Awesome restaurant! They serve some Caribbean styled fish, southern style & more. Great cocktails & a small but very nice atmosphere. I highly recommend this restaurant.

check in with mom and dad summer visit check in with lis and meg summertime visit check in with kris and lis and meg for jan bday check in most recently wednesday before thanksgiving 2015 with meg and jim and laki sorry Unilocal fans i’ve been here four times since my last review and have slacked completely but they deserve another mention because they are so consistently good! I recommend the smoked salmon wonton apps, they are delish. It’s hard to go wrong here actually, hubby had the étouffée, I had the jamaican jerk ahi tuna special and our guests both had fish specials also. They have reasonably marked-up wines that I feel OK buying a bottle of– they have good service and fast delivery of food. The ambiance is great, esp if they get you by the fire. Prices are what you’d expect from fish in a landlocked state but are not crazy high. I am a fan and will be back again in June!

I recently moved to Longmont and I heard good things about this place on the radio, this restaurant show where people call in and give their review on good places in town. They had nothing but great things to say about this place, so I wanted to try this place when I moved here. I went there on a date about a week ago. We came at 6:45 and we got sat right away outside on their patio. It’s a little house that they cook and serve in, has a very nice home feel. If you have been to Lucilles it reminds me of their setup. The patio had a nice tree with light decorations on it that we sat under. We ordered the Smoked Salmon Wontons as an appetizer, or server was a nice lady, she recommended a special, this Seared Ahi Tuna that came with this great mango salsa on it with rice and beans it was great. I ordered a Margarita with our entrée and a Bailey’s and coffee with our dessert. It was excellent, I ordered a chocolate bread pudding with some bourbon caramel sauce, my date ordered a key lime pie with some rum whip cream, she can’t drink alcohol so she scooped the whipped cream on my dessert, delicious. Our waitress gave us a story about the owners, they are two brothers from Louisiana whose specialty is seafood. I loved it.

We had the Mojo Chicken and the Voodoo Chicken(both $ 15 because we were too cheap to pay $ 21+ for seafood). The Mojo was decent but not exciting enough to order again. The Voodoo was great. It would have been nice to have a choice of sides instead of only collard greens. Wonderful patio experience. Lindsey did a great job as the server. I would recommend that they print out their daily specials because it’s take forever to repeat them to each guest that arrives. I made a reservation for my group of 20 to come and I thought they would be happy to have the business but instead they made me feel like I was causing an imposition and had a long list of concerns(we had to order food not just drinks and we couldn’t take up tables for too long). Anyhow, it all worked out fine once we got there and they could see that our group bought meals and drinks and were good paying customers but I wished they were more enthusiastic about it in the beginning.

Quite underwhelming, service was just okay, the food was underseasoned, and it really isn’t as special as the price would indicate. Certainly a bad first impression.

This place was great, food was good, seafood fresh and good run drinks. Not much to look at inside so sit on the patio. We will be back.

First, let me say that the ambiance of this restaurant is the best thing about this place. If you have extra money laying around and want to impress a date with an intimate restaurant in longmont with art on the walls, this might be good choice. The service is slow, the food and drinks are horrendously overpriced especially given that this restaurant is in Longmont(not Boulder or Denver), and the food just really isn’t very good-especially given the poor service and prices. Having lived in the Bahamas for two years and traveling around in that region of the world, I can say that this food is not authentic whatsoever. If the cook is from the Caribbean then they must be one of the worst Caribbean cooks alive. I really do like that this restaurant has a unique feel, idea, and is «local» which is why I’m giving it two stars rather than one. Sorry! I genuinely wanted to like this restaurant!

In Town on business and found this on Unilocal great experience. Had the ahi special. Great presentation and right quantity. Ate outside in the courtyard. Definitely recommend. Pay attention to location as it is not on a Main Street and could be easily missed.

My wife and I have been to Tortuga’s a few times. Here are my thoughts. Food is great. It seems fresh, the sauces are unique and well worth the try. You can be adventuresome, as few of the tastes are very overwhelming. The only reason for the lack of 4 – 5 stars would be service. If it’s busy and you get seated upstairs, you better have a lot of time on your hands. We will be back to give it another try.

I did not like this place at all, we made a reservation a full two days in advance. We’ are not allowed to sit outside told first come, service is terrible, slow and rude. Food is way over priced for jumbo plate of beans and rice. Not too impressed, we were told 45 mins to sit on patio, shortly after we agreed to sit inside, they sat several groups out there. Skip this one, no thank you!

Tastes that explode on your palate! Easily in the top 5 best restaurants in Longmont. They fly in the«fresh catch of the day», and you can choose to have it fixed one of three ways(if I recall). I chose the Mahi Mahi Vera Cruz and it was absolute heaven on a plate. Two others in my party chose the fresh Grouper that night and said it was exquisite. Their Key Lime pie rivals that which I tasted in Key West! I can’t imagine a single dish not being good at this fabulous, quaint and adorable restaurant. The wait staff are wonderfull; efficient and very friendly. We went there with my Meetup, a Longmont Over 40 Social Club, and they accommodated the separate checks without a single problem. A wonderful gem of a place!

My wife and I have been there a few times in the last year. Every time the food was very good and the service attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is deceptive. If you just walked in you would not expect the food to be as good as it is. The fish is always fresh and well prepared. The only issue I have is that the hush puppy left a bit to be desired. One of, if not the best restaurants in town.

Finally made it in for a full meal and did not disappoint. Apps were moderately sized and good, although the weakest point of the meal(maybe 3* here). Two kinds of fish were eaten — both were cooked perfectly, great toppings, and large portions. We also had alcohol — a beer for FIL and a cocktail for me, again, both were great and went well with the food. Desserts held up to previous expectations and were yummy and decently sized. Service was nice and pace was ok, although we were relaxing on the patio and enjoying the evening in no hurry. When it got dark, it was a bit odd on the patio since the lighting is low, but overall a nice place to visit and have a meal.

It’s kind of a drive from Golden, and not much to look at, but I was so impressed with the food and the service at Tortuga, I’ll drive there for another special meal anytime. The voodoo sauce is killer. The eggplant appetizer was dreamy and perfect. And the chocolate cake thing for dessert, with the caramel flavored sauce… I was transported. It’s worth the drive for that alone! They could use some Jamaica in the décor and music, but that’s a minor detail. If you like delicious food — don’t miss out on Tortuga.

Super nice place in an old house with a courtyard. Caribbean and Creole fusion dishes dot the menu. We had a fish special(Madras spiced ahi tuna) and Jerked Pork Chop. The fish had a nice crust and a perfect medium rare interior. The chop was a little overcooked and lacked the heat I was expecting, but was very flavorful. Service was team oriented and perfect. Indoor or outside, the side-street ambiance is great.

Excellent fish entrees. Don’t mind the reviews about the rice and beans. They are the perfect compliment to complex main courses. I love eating on the back patio on a warm summer evening. The atmosphere is perfect for a family gathering or a romantic dinner. The service was very good. We were fortunate to have one of the owners waiting on us. She was delightful. We will be back!

I LOVE restaurants that make me feel like I’m on vacation!!! It’s an unassuming little house one street over from main. Their greenery is growing a bit over the sign so it might be hard to spot… but don’t drive by, you’ll be missing a gem! They have the perfect sized menu with an array of options for every taste, from gumbo, to fried shrimp, to sea bass. We had the coconut shrimp and yucca crusted sea bass. Both excellent. And the interior is well appointed and local artists art adorns the wall for purchase, which I’m such a fan of. It’s a delightful place to escape for a Caribbean feel meal. they have a gorgeous outdoor patio for when the Colorado weather isn’t playing tricks on you and an upstairs bar. So many places in this little house to explore. Go and escape for a night. You won’t be disappointed.

Just LOVE this place especially in the summer in the late evening under the trees in the courtyard with the tiny lights and stars, very romantic and lovely. Food is so good, and I love the trendy various appys they come up with. I think their desserts are some of the best in the county and definitely savor worthy. I have never had anything here I didn’t just love. My one surprise is when I came with my partner one evening at 830 on weekend, I admit it was a slow evening but we were very literally rushed out. I understand everyone wants to get home after a long day of work but it was not that late… so. BUT Ill go earlier and enjoy every delicious bite.
