I called Sullivan Septic to have my tank pumped. They reviewed my home’s history and I was told that their records showed that in my last pump they charged $ 225 more because the tank was more than 100 feet from the driveway and they needed to use extra hose. That was past prices they said… this time that extra hose length was gonna cost $ 450 more. They said it would be $ 980 to pump my 1000 gallon tank! I went out and measured… it was 75 feet to the driveway being conservative. Basically I felt like I had been overcharged for my last pumping because they thought they could get away with it. I decided not to go with them because of this and the price. This afternoon I got a call asking if I was going to confirm an appointment and I said I wasn’t and that I thought it was dishonest that I had been charged for extra hose the last pumping when it was clear my tank was less than the 100 feet length they had told me required extra hose. I was not yelling this just stating I didn’t feel that I wanted to spend $ 980 for extra hose that wasn’t needed. The woman hung up. 5 minutes later I got a call from the owner, Cindy who started yelling at me and calling me names and being extremely rude. I told her I felt they had overcharged me and her story(which conflicted with the previous reason of distance) was that I had a difficult tank to pump so they charged more. I didn’t think their past charge was fair and I didn’t want to pay $ 980 with their extra charges to get my tank pumped. I had already been overcharged several hundred dollars for extra hose length that wasn’t needed the last time. As a consumer I have the right to shop around and to be yelled at by the owner after discovering that I had been overcharged(not just yelled at but called up to be yelled at) was really unbelievable to me. Totally unprofessional. By the way, I told my neighbor about this and he said Sullivan’s had charged him to chain up their truck when there was no snow in the driveway at all and he personally witnessed them drive in and out with no chains. After that experience I called another service and they are coming next week(a month earlier than Sullivan’s could make time) and they will charge $ 430…saving me $ 500. Not only was Sullivan’s double the price but they had extra charges, and worse of all they went ballistic on me on the phone for even questioning those charges. I would never call or them again or reccomend them to anyone

These guys do a great straightforward and fair job. They really know what they are doing and I would recommend them to anyone in need of septic work, replacement or repairs.
