This store seems nice on the outside, but word to the wise: never, ever work here! They love to hire people with years of grocery experience, promising top pay. What they don’t tell prospective employees is that if there is a gap of 5 years in the specific job title, then the starting pay is $ 9.13 per hour! Yep, you heard it… the bare minimum. If one’s lucky, they can protest by going to his/her previous employer and obtain countless copies of how many hours he/she put in previous years. This process takes at least 4 or more months. Once the process is completed(after months of headaches and worry), you’ll most likely be given a $ 2.00 raise for your 26+ years of grocery experience… wow! The store manager will also promise benefits before 1 year, then suddenly he/she will tell you that unfortunately, you’re considered«part-time»(even though you’re working 6 graveyard shifts per week); therefore; you’ll have to wait at least 1 year. In the meantime, your spouse and/or your children go with no insurance or pay out of pocket. Of course, we all know that $ 11.13 per hour is plenty enough for supporting a family and paying $ 400-$ 500 per month for a family insurance plan in Colorado, right? For males, if you’ve worked there less than 2 years and your significant other is expecting a baby, you will be granted 3 days off; however, that includes the 1 day off you’d usually have every week. Don’t ever get sick or allow your family to get sick, either! Use your crystal ball to foresee all family emergencies! If you or your family are hospitalized, forget about documentation — the manager will tell you it means nothing! If you ask for FMLA, forget it! Remember you are«part-time» and working 40+ hours. After a few family illnesses and possibly a family emergency, you will provide valid documentation with signatures, a diagnosis or explanation of the nature of the emergency, date and time stamped, only to be written up and told you will be terminated if you miss another night, no matter what the reason may be. Needless to say, a position here will become your life while you continue to struggle and make ends meet. Hoping for a promotion? You might get a temporary one, but don’t expect any increase in pay. Your temporary position will be nothing more than a temporary title! My best advice is to move on if you’re already working here. If not, avoid a potential job here like the plague and never make it your life-long career.

These terrible neighbors don’t maintain the grounds and property, and to make matters worse, love to bathe us in unknown levels of radiation from the cell towers on the roof. Thanks for elevating our property values and quality of life! We go anywhere but a Kroger for ever.

Super Soopers I live pretty much equidistant from this Kings & the one on Main St. Hell, maybe even a few steps closer to the one on Main but I take those few extra strides over to this location because it’s not as ghetto as the one Main. I don’t mean to be a prude but this store has better clientele and is a lot more open & seemingly cleaner then the one on Main. Granted, it is probably in better condition since I hear it was recently renovated. Regardless, this place has become my new go to Soopers since we’ve moved to Longmont. As for the staff… ehh! All places have their superstars and lames. I’ve encountered more teamsters that just don’t give good customer service, like the self-check out people & the cart pushers outside. One even said, «just don’t hit a car,» when I asked if he can take care of my cart with the kid cab attachment. First off, he was already fixing the oodles of carts in the parking lot cart station. Plus, I already brought it as close as close can get since the darn thing was overflowing with carts already. I was being polite. Seriously irritating. SMH! The sweet older lady in the seafood department is an exception. Great recommendations and pleasant to talk to. They need to train their staff to be more like her. Great place to shop especially for items on sale. Though not as cheap as Walmart, it surely has a better selection being a grocery store.

We made this our one and only grocery store even when we lived all the way across town. The entire store was remodeled at the end of 2011, and now easily has the nicest physical space of any Longmont grocer. The bakery has several cases of store-baked desserts ranging from slices of red velvet cake to chocolate mouse. The mouse is served in glass bowls we wash and keep for at-home snacking, and everything we’ve tried has been tasty. An entire display case of cheeses sits beside a Mediterranean section, and the deli case always has some nice prepared foods(the chille rellanos are our favorite). Prices here are generally good, with lots of sales throughout the store. Breakfast cereals always let us down, though, with prices running about $ 1 more per box than at Safeway across the street. We never buy cereal unless it’s on sale, and even then the sales elsewhere are better deals. The checkout lanes here are brilliant. You never unload your cart onto a conveyor belt; you just push the cart up to the counter where the cashier can then pull items out to scan. This is not only more efficient; it’s also effortless to move to a different lane even when you’re next in line. We’ve caught the occasional slow cashier, but we’re usually through the line as fast as we could hope. Shopping with kids? You can get a free slice of cheese at the deli counter, a cookie from the bakery, and a red balloon at the front of the store. Bring a penny and there’s a pony ride near the checkout that handily lasts just as long as it takes to checkout.

This store is a lot nicer than the one on Main St. What can I say, it has Cokes in the glass bottle, one of my few vices. It seems newer, with better lighting, has a larger selection of produce, and the meat dept is decent. Plus it has a gas station with pretty decent prices for the area, usually about $.05 to $.10 lower with card.
