We wanted to get a burger after a day traveling by boat. We were referred by the Dockmaster. We called to make reservations and no one answered. We left a message. Upon arrival there were a number of tables with no guests. However we were told that all tables were reserved. We advised the hostess that we tried to make a reservation but no one called us back. She stated that they were already full. We were directed to the bar. Thank goodness there were four chairs. We ordered, ate, and noticed that 5 tables never had any guests. The bartender was not friendly since we did not belong to «The Club» even though we had paid a 20 dollar resort fee. Then when we got the bill we saw that 20% had been added as a tip, but the service was not deserving. Good was average and over priced. The Tavern was a disappointment for the Longboat Key Club Resort organization.

Great burgers and fixings bar. 18.00 burger and a 8.00 up charge for the fixings bar was a little much. The bartender very nice at first, as we were talking she asked where we were staying on the resort and we said we were not. At that point she stated«this is private club but I guess I can logged you in as a guess. At that point she became very«stand offish» Kinda wish she had sent a away after receiving the bill for a 128.00 for 2 burgers and 2 mixed drinks apiece not counting 20 percent for a tip.

We just went and had a wonderful meal for valentine’s day. Had the duck and rib eye. Both were excellent. Get the apple pie dessert. It’s worth it
