Pure Spa and Salon

I had been a customer at the old location and always loved any treatment I received there. I finally got to go to the new place today and was not disappointed. I booked an hour facial. Regina was concerned that my skin might be too sensitive for the peel so instead of a full hour it took half that time. However, she then had me go into another room where I received a half hour massage, one of the best I have ever had! I am terrible with names but the young woman concentrated on one area that gives me the most trouble. I have sinus problems and get headaches. By the time she finished I was relaxed and my sinuses were clear and no more pain. I am just sorry it took so long for me to get in there. It won’t take as long for me to return now. I know a few people complained about having to walk up and down stairs but this was a minor inconvenience for such a wonderful overall experience.

Having been a long time customer when they were on 41 Street & Queens Boulevard, it has taken me several months to visit the new location on 32^nd Place, only blocks away! Well, I finally went today and was surely not disappointed! Greeted by owner Regina, my friend and I were shown around the new premises and were very impressed. In addition to all the services they offered before there is now a steam room and suana, along with showers. Several vanities with hair dryers, body lotion and hair styling product are available as well.
I had a facial, eyebrow shaping and waxing with Eva who is always great. The facial always includes neck and shoulder massage, and I told her THAT probably did more for me than my blood pressure medicine! My friend had a facial and a massage as well. We were both so relaxed afterwards that we could have fallen asleep in the relaxation room!
All in all it is a great experience that everyone should treat themselves to! Pure Spa and Salon at CityView. Go there!

Been going there and getting waxed with Ashleigh for months. She is excellent, quick and proficient, and she really makes me feel relaxed. I had never gotten a wax before, and she made it a (mostly!) painless experience. I plan on continuing to go there. I’m a little sad they moved from their old location, but the new one is totally fine.
They are always prompt, and really nice.

I have been a fan of massage therapy for most of my life. The quality of the therapists one encounters varies. Vanessa, at Pure, is easily one of the most talented I have ever come across. She has healing hands and will skilfully work out any stubborn knots you may have. The new facility is top notch and the staff is very helpful. For spa customers there is free access to the steam room and sauna (which has, a great view of Manhattan) at the connecting health club. A great way to further unwind after a world class massage.

It’s sad that after being a client of Pure Spa for about 9 years, I do not think I will continue to be for spa treatments after today. I will however continue to get haircuts with Nancie as long as she works there.
I miss the old location and most of their staff (Betty, Rose, Jackie…). The new spot is not relaxing at all! When you arrive, you go up the stairs to check-​in, then downstairs to the locker rooms to change (with everyone who is there to play tennis at CityView), then back up to wait in the waiting area (a relaxation room is non-​existent), you get your treatment done (walls are thin where you hear everything outside of the room), go back downstairs to the locker rooms to change, back upstairs to pay and finally back down the stairs to leave.
As for the quality of the facial, it was completely rushed, I certainly didn’t get the 75 minutes I paid for. I was ready and waiting at my appointment time but wasn’t taken back to the treatment rooms until 10 – 15 minutes later. The extractions were minimal. At one point the technician leaves for a few minutes and returns but doesn’t wash her hands. Obviously she touched the door handle to come back, but I don’t know what else she touched for the few minutes she was out of the room.
My skin and pores do not look clean or refreshed.
I have never been disappointed with Pure up until today. :-(

I’ve been a client of Pure since they opened in Sunnyside years ago. When they moved to City View, I was a little hesitate to go there as it was 10 blocks away from their original location. But I decided to try it I booked two massages one for me and my mom. It was one of the best massages I’ve had. Afterwards my mom and I enjoyed the steam room and sauna facilities they offer. The new locker rooms are roomier and the showers are such an improvement from the previous accommodations at the original location.
I realized the next day after my treatment that I’d left my necklace in the robe that I placed in the laundry when I left. I spoke with a staff member, who ended up calling me back confirming they found it and would hold it for me. Sadly, when I went to retrieve the necklace, they couldn’t find it. As great as it was to be called and told it was found, it was equally as disappointing to be told it couldn’t be found when I went to retrieve it.
The lesson here is be sure to leave the jewelry at home before spa treatments so you don’t lose/​find/​lose your possessions.

Incredible service, I am always blown away with every treatment I receive. Pure spa is the only salon that exists in the NYC state that does HD brows. I have in fact started to get my waxing, facials, brows and my hair done here. It is so nice not having to go to 5 different places for these services and each treatment I get are all done professionally and beautifully. Couldn’t be happier. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for any service and I am quiet picky.;)

Very dissapointed at Pure spa and their new location. First of all we were 15 min. Late because when i made the reservation for what it was supposed to be a party it was not emphasized that they moved from sunnyside to LIC. Once we arrived, the spa was located almost at what it seemed to be the attic of an indoor tennis place. The locker rooms were shared with the sports center, there was no private room to sit and relax for a party, this should have been emphasized by Regina when making the reservation. As I specified it was a PARTY. Since we were 15 min. Late, my friend had a 30 min. Massage instead of an hr massage but she had to pay for the full hour. Oh and since the spa does not have private bathrooms and showers when walking to the spa from the bathroom i bumped into some old guy half naked who was looking to get a massage. Horrible experience, never again.

The worst «spa» experience ever.
The receptionist never informed me or my friends about their relocation. The email back and forth with Regina included the new address as her contact info. When the business moves, you specify that you’ve relocated. Don’t just put a new address part of your signature. To a costumer who has been going to the sunny side location for while, will never ever notice the difference in the street number. Not to mention all 4 of us called individually to pay 50% of the service in advance. Not a single person on the phone mentioned the relocation.
So we arrived at the old location first and ended up being late. The receptionist had the nerve to say to us they have another appointment after with an attitude and of course no apology. And failed to mention we were getting our services cut short. Even tho they charged the full price for half of what I paid for. My massage was the worst massage ever. If was just an oil rub. You can get a better massage at a nail salon on a chair. And the room had NO music. All I heard was the vent noise. Seriously?
The place is at a sport club. Shared locker room and so many people going in and out. The «waiting area» had a long couch facing a wall and the hallway had a plastic wrap on. So weird. You can have water and sterol popcorn. It’s a joke.
Lynn at the reception told us she was going to have a manager call us. Two days later, nothing.
Never again.

So happy I found out that Pure on Queens Boulevard has just relocated to CityView Racquet Club. Located in the Penthouse, the minute you step off the elevator it is like you have been whisked away to another world. I had a facial with Ashleigh and a bikini wax, she was very fast and they DO NOT double dip which is a major plus as that is hard to find these days! My facial was very relaxing as I listened to some Jazz music in the background… she was very painless with extractions and my skin looked refreshed and had a glow afterwards. I hung out in the Sauna and Steam room downstairs for a while after (you can use if you are having treatments at Pure) and I was even offered a complimentary refreshment afterwards. I loved it. Prices are very reasonable for the high standards and service you get. Reception staff also very pleasant — I made another booking before I left — will be back — thank you Pure:)

Just had a wonderful appointment with Nancie for half head highlights as a late birthday treat. If you are looking for a hairstylist who can deliver what you imagine, Nancie is your girl. She gives you the uttermost attention to ensure that you are satisfied with your color and cut.
The new Pure location is wonderful. Located one block from the train station.
