CLOSEDFORBUSINESS. This place sucked. I went to see the last round of a comedy tournament. Hoping to witness the best of the best, the only thing laughable was the lack of talent. Menus are useless since they were out of half the things on the menu. Server was slow and passive aggressive.

Has that cool comedy club feel. Love to work out jokes there. Supportive room.

Definitely a unique experience. Personally, my lady and I had a good time, but we are super easy going and open-minded. The place is small as hell – picture a stage in the middle of a railroad apartment. I’d say like ¾ of the comedians were quite good – funnier than I expected. I could see uptight people hating this place because it’s pretty shabby and a little awkward for a comedy club… but in a good way. If you like weird nights, this place is definitely worth checking out.

I came here a few times. First time sucked… But it got better. Last time, the comedy was fantastic. The drinks r good. Service was whatever… and yes the place is small. But comedy in queens is hard to come by this place had gotta so much better. I been trying to go back but my peeps are sceptical of good comedy in queens… lol.

This place is supppppper small! Just a warning! You will feel smushed! We came by last minute on a saturday night hoping to see some good comedy. I usually go to Gotham in the city, but we weren’t in the mood to make the trek and this place is 8 minutes away from our house. Tickets are 10 bucks a pop, with a two drink min. so you really can’t beat that. Check in for a deal on your next visit. They have a limited menu of food, which is ordered from the restaurant next door. We had nachos that came out to about $ 16 or $ 17 after adding sour cream. They were good but no where near the best. They charge I believe $ 4 or $ 5 for a bottle of water, which is kind of crazy given the space and seating arrangements. About five people bumped into me squeezing behind my chair to go to the bathroom. The comediens were, I don’t know how to explain it… Awkward? Some jokes were funny, some were weird — which is expected! We don’t all have the same taste. It just became weird when they would say«you guys aren’t laughing at my jokes, ok…» and you see them quiet, stumbling not knowing what to say next. This happened with about three of the comics on one night. The host of the show was AMAZING he is the only reason why I gave this place a third star — I wanted to watch him the entire night! I would like to come back maybe when I know of the comic performing, because its close, I have faith that they do get SOME good up and coming talent and the entire evening comes out at about half the cost of the city but I guess after our experience that night, we know why.

My favorite. Cozy place, good service, good beer list, more than 8 comics per show. Great service. If you sit on the front row you will be part of the show!

Cheap, fun and a two drink minimum. Not bad so long as you don’t overpay for the tickets. The experience was fun and a few comedians were exceptionally funny. Groupon had a deal for cheap tickets. Overall a good decent night out.

Laughing Devil is my favorite place to go in New York on weekend nights. It shocks me that it does not consistently sell out, because the quality of the comedy is truly outstanding. They have new management and I anticipate that it will become extremely popular as soon as they start advertising in Queens. The audience area small room with an intimate atmosphere, and there is a two-drink minimum. What sets Laughing Devil apart from other comedy clubs is that the audience is almost entirely New Yorkers; so comics I think have more freedom to use edgy, personal material, and longer narrative formats. When I went to a large club in Manhattan, I felt like the performers’ material seemed more geared toward tourists — enjoyable but more like, light one-liners. If someone is genuinely interested in checking out standup comedy as an art form, I would strongly recommend the Laughing Devil. Also, the waitress Carla and bartenders Kevin and Sal are all extremely cool. Kevin is a Broadway actor and and singer and will take requests if it’s late and people have left. Comics who regularly perform here whose work I especially like include Gibran Saleem, Nore Davis, Derek Gaines, Chris Cotton, Fariaz Rabbani, Eagle Whitt, Mike Recine, and Aaron Berg. While there aren’t many female comics who I would consider regulars, the management consistently books terrific female comics like Chrissie Mayr, Sabrina Jalees, and Liz Miele. Friday and Saturday nights sell out, but there are many great shows during the week — especially Center City Comedy shows which are once a month on Thursdays, and Comedy Llama by Sam Haft and Tommy Kang on Tuesdays. Special thanks to Allan Finn for introducing me to the Laughing Devil. He produces the podcast The Week in Sex. If you go to a show, good nearby restaurants include Tuk Tuk(Thai) and L’Inizio’s(pizza, across the street).

Not sure what the fuss is about this place. I can sum it up in 3 words small, awkward and not funny? I’m sorry I truly feel bad for the comedians who try hard(maybe even too hard?) but they mostly base their jokes on the audience, just not funny. I can’t complaining came here with a groupon for $ 15 for two people and two drinks, so I can say I got what I paid for.

Came here with a Groupon($ 15 for 2 Tickets to a Comedy Show &2 Drinks) and enjoyed our time! Pros: * Had no problems making a reservation– be sure to check out Hours on Unilocal to know when to call. * Comedians were great– especially MC Alexis Guerreros and Monroe Martin…(wanted to make a shout out to another comic but couldn’t find complete list on site) * Decent food– tried the Fried Oreos a la mode and it came in a huge platter! Wish the ice cream wasn’t semi-melted soft serve though… * Our waitress Angie was a sweetheart– she forgot to include our discount in the check but her sweetness made up for it! Cons: * Usually the more(drunk) attendees, the better the ambiance and reception. Unfortunately you can’t change the tiny narrow layout of venue which contributed to the limited amount of people attending. Saturday’s 8PM show also wasn’t sold out… so it was awkwardly quiet and stagnant during the first 3 – 4 comics and didn’t get rowdy until the last 2 :(

I went to Laughing Devil with my boyfriend one night when we were just walking around the neighborhood and was approached by one of the employees. Since we had no plans, we figured why not. Yes, this place is small and awkwardly laid out, which other reviews mention, but that did not effect the time we had. The comedians were funny, some more then others, but overall I spent the whole time laughing. Since we were caught off guard, we had not eaten dinner yet so we were happy to find they offered a full menu. We shared the Mac and cheese, mushroom quesadilla, and burger; all which was amazing. I find it hard to think of any restaurant in the neighborhood that offers something I crave, I find all of the local places to be pretty average, but the food here was pretty amazing and I still think about it. I definitely look forward to returning and enjoying another impromptu date night!

This comedy club lives up to my expectation of a great night and it is always mind blowing… lol Last night was awesome ! a wide variety of comedians with a lot of different materials, it kept me and the crowd lol all night. It’s really a small, friendly cozy place. One of my favorite comedians is Allan Fin, he is the man! I really loved his impersonation of his father’s voice, I find it sexy and entertaining. Love the old man Russian’s voice.

This is a great little hole-in-the-wall comedy club.(Almost literally.) The room is TINY, and awkwardly setup in a «shotgun”-type space. Relatively cheap for a comedy club, but then, it kinda has to be for the space. It’s cool as a once-in-awhile thing in LIC. The comics are usually great, though the club don’t change them up frequently enough, so if you go more than once every couple months, you’re likely going to hear the same jokes over and over. Nevertheless, if you’re looking for something to do in the area, this is as good a place as any. It’s better than going into Midtown.

Visited Laughing Devil Comedy Club as part of Unilocal Drinks week where Jando S. had a Unilocal Drinks CMYE: Libations and Laughs of LIC. There was a drink special on selected cocktails for $ 7 but I found out this is the regular pricing based on reading some reviews. We didn’t really get a deal. The drink ordered was called a Queens Comfort and it was rather comforting and potent. I also ordered the loaded nachos which had steak on top, but the steak was noticeably cold but still satisfying to eat after a few drinks. The comedians interact with the audience a lot. There were a lot of acts and even one woman who was really funny. However, I didn’t see any Chris Rock type of comedians. Maybe they were off for the evening. There was just Unilocalers for the evening so we kind of got a private show. It was pretty vulgar at times. Lots of laughs to be had by both the participating audience and the comedians. In the end, there was no harm and no foul. We came away with some nifty shot glasses with their mascot printed on it and encouraged to come back. Laugh aloud.

Small, intimate venue in LIC, serving good comedies and relatively cheap(er) drinks in LIC. #10 cover charge but you can almost always find a discount code or a deal somewhere online, including on Unilocal check in. $ 10 cocktails, $ 3 – 6 beers, $ 3 sodas and juice. I got their Queen’s Comfort cocktail because the guy who served us recommended it, claiming that it’s their most popular drink. It was… unique. They put basil in the drink, not something people usually put in a drink. It was good though. Also ordered their nachos, pretty good. A bit disappointed they don’t serve french fries. Laughing Devil Comedy Club peeps, if you’re reading this, please serve cheesy fries! :D Also, the club is located pretty close to the water overlooking Manhattan so you can go on a quick romantic stroll afterwards. In my opinion, this club is one of the best date night spots in NY.

This venue has either gotten smaller since I last attended a comedy show here or I must be on my 5th drink. Since I walked in sober that night, I must assume the previous. Saturdays are date nights here. A rather CHEAP date but I did see people splurge on food and other things. There is table service that is handled solely by 1 guy. So if you are ordering food or multiple drinks, expect a bit of a wait. The drinks are standard pricing from $ 7 +. I’m not sure if they have happy hours but I wouldn’t think of coming to a comedy venue during happy hours anyway. You on the other hand might want to check up on that if that is indeed your thang. No Ommegang !!! It is pronounced Omm-Mah-Gang not Omm-Mah-Gong how I always do. On their website it states that they have Ommegang but because of their renovation that is still ongoing, all of their taps are currently unavailable. Well except Blue Moon and some other beers that I don’t recall. Along with the renovations, there is also new management. The ticket guy or rather ticket system is a little bit on the fritz as I had ordered tickets online and it took a little bit of time to find that reservation. But friendly service all around except for a bit of wait time behind the bar. The comics that were on that night were okay as they didn’t quite hit the mark with the crowd. The host however was hilarious as he continually threw jokes at the Ukrainian double daters in the crowd. Spot on accent and jokes landed well. Good spot to watch comedy if you are in Queens.

As with any comedy club, you’ll have a better time if you go without any expectations. We went on one of the open mic workshop nights — the comedians were hit or miss but a good time was had. I was a bit apprehensive about sitting front and center, and inevitably was the butt of a cliché Asian joke involving viagra and penis size. That’s fine. It happens. Food was actually pretty good, though the sweet potato fries were kinda soggy.

I came here for an elite event a while back and came back for a night of laughs. The crowd was small but the it was a good show. As always the drinks were good and I think we got a discount. I always have a good time here. One of the better things to do in LIC.

I have no idea how this place makes any money. I have free tickets coming out of my ears, because apparently managment is extremely sympathetic. These free tickets came as a result of it being too packed one particular night(as the headlining comedian Friday night, Liam McEneaney, said, «You guys found the only place in New York that’s smaller than Rockwood»), so we held onto them for later. This past Friday night was a lot emptier — we opted to stay for the second show after being very late for the 8 p.m. one — so the manager told the tiny audience that if it didn’t get at least a little bigger, they would cancel the show and offer comped tickets to use whenever you like. So far, we’ve been here twice, successfully, and have learned that it ranges from a 9-person audience(it was freezing out) where Rob Paravonian will have the time to discuss Twitter with just you in the middle of his set, to so-packed-we-went-home-and-tried-again-another-day(so, like, 12 people? I kid, but even Steve Hofstetter calls this place a hallway… and he owns it). I often hear comedians are assholes, but the comedians that actually work for Laughing Devil are friendly and attentive(even though a wayward jerk will take the stage sometimes) — and will totally make fun of you in conversation, so make sure you can take a joke! Otherwise, what are you doing here?, get out. The intimate setting is great, though it’s also the only real comedy club in the area, so if you don’t like it, get on the Manhattan-bound 7 train… oh, wait. They serve food, which sets it apart from other comedy clubs I’ve been to — sadly, they only have sweet potato fries or tater tots, and no regular fries. The tots are good, and I like sweet potato fries, but sometimes you just want good ol’ Idahoes. My favorite is the fried chicken. I can’t speak to the drinks too well, but there’s usually a 2-drink minimum. I’ve driven each time I’ve been there so far, so I’ve been guzzling a whole lot of soda. Also, try to finish your food. They couldn’t wrap our tots to-go at the end of a night, for lack of supplies, so my unnamed friend carried tater tot-filled napkins home in her pockets…
