Super cute low-key Thai spot. I frequent Long Island City often to enjoy the views and fresh air & I decided to come down yesterday and grab a bite to eat with my boyfriend here. Basically all we eat is Thai food and we were very happy with this place. The décor was super cute! They had pretty mirrors and decorative chandeliers and these really comfy high back vintage chairs. They even put their napkins in hand punched wrappers. The atmosphere in the restaurant really helps you forget what lies outside(not water views or anything special). The food was also really great. We had curry puffs and crab rangoon for appetizers and for dinner I had the Pad Kee Mao and my boyfriend had the Pad See Ew. All the food was delicious! My only semi complaint was that the menu denotes that the Pad Kee Mao is medium spicy, but woah it was beyond hot & I am a spicy food person. Luckily I had an amazing Thai iced tea to cool the spice! And another thing I noticed was that the noodle portions are a tad smaller than the usual serving from other Thai places. Bottom line is if you’re passing by or live here, I would definitely recommend. If you’re a tourist and want some city views, there’s some other places around but you’ll may much more. The prices here are very reasonable.

This was really tasty Thai food. Thai is among my favorite cuisines, and this place didn’t disappoint. The Massaman curry appetizer was awesome. I also had the veggie pad see ew and my fiancée had the shrimp tom yum soup.

We have recently moved to LIC from Manhattan and are sad to see a lack of restaurants in the area. However, we are thrilled there is a good Thai place down the block. We have done take out and dined in. They are not on Seamless so you need to call your order in, which I hate just because I hate talking to people when ordering in :). Our orders have always been delivered quickly and by friendly delivery people! It’s a BYOB restaurant, which we love and the food was just as good in the restaurant. Keep up the good work!

EVERYTHING was on point. The décor is gorgeous. The plating is gorgeous. Great service. The drinks are delicious. The food is even better! Even the side salad that they put on every plate is great! Officially my favorite Thai spot in NYC, and I’ve tried quite a few. Everything is just so fresh and full of flavor, there wasn’t anything we didn’t enjoy. Try this place out~~

This review is for JANE the waitress. She’s amazing and very friendly. She took her time and explained to us the different choices on the menu. My Friends and I came in around lunch time Thursday afternoon. Everything at this place was good. The food is pretty good depending on what you order. There really neat and artistic with there food however, one of the waitress when she brought out our food she dropped our appetizers on the table and some on my friend. There Thai ice tea is really good not to sweet just right. The décor in this place is really nice. I just wish there calamari had more flavor . We ordered : 1.Vegetable spring roll(was ok) nothing fancy 2.fried calamari(was ok) –had better calamari before 3. Red curry with chicken(good) 4.spicy basil Fried rice(good) 5 .pork pad Thai(my freind said it was good as well) 6. Tom Yum soup with chicken(eh wish it was better)

My friends decided to eat in House of Thai and my impression was that their interior design is unique and different from other places I’ve been. The place was kinda dead since we went on Thursday afternoon when it was raining but there were some several people. We ordered appetizer; fried calamari, vegetable rolls and our entrée are Pad Thai(I ordered that) and my friends ordered Spiced Basil Fried Rice and Curry Chicken. Everything was good! However one of the staff keep dropping the food in the table. But overall, it was a nice restaurant and definitely love the food. Definitely will come back again!

Food is very good and taste very fresh. I usually have the Basil Chicken with white rice which I love but beware because it is a bit spicy. The restaurant is nicely decorated and very clean. I have dined and takeout is also fast, will be trying delivery soon.

Tried to order delivery from here. They said their delivery goes between 30th and 44th ave. Yet they would not go to 42nd, only four blocks from their location. I explained where my apartment was, that it was only 4 blocks and well inside their radius(42nd is between 30&44th) and they still would not take an order. If you are only going to deliver to people on the same block you should not advertise delivery. Unfortunately dealing with an injury I can’t travel far, what a disappointment.

House of Thai has been my go to ordering place when I have friends over. Their food has been consistently good and they have an A health rating! — because I mostly order from here I’ll just review the food and delivery. Drinks — Thai iced tea: Your average Thai iced tea, just like you would expect, nothing out of the ordinary. 3⁄5 A OK — Lychee iced tea: My favorite drink here! Light and sweet, it comes with two pieces of lychee inside which are fun to eat after you’ve inhaled the drink. I would recommend getting this! 5⁄5 appetizers: — Wings Zapp: SOGOOD, crispy, sweet and spicy on the outside and so tender on the inside. Great app to get, it comes with 5 pieces. I would get this again. 5⁄5 — Chicken Satay: That peanut sauce! The chicken skewers are your average skewers until you put that peanut sauce it comes with. This one comes with 4 skewers. I would also get this again. 4⁄5 Entrees: — Pineapple fried rice with chicken: So good and sweet. it has pineapple like the name suggests and nuts. 4⁄5 — Pad Thai with chicken: Tasty, love the noodles. I remember eating this and filling up after eating half but I couldn’t stop eating it! 5⁄5 — Pad see ew with chicken: Flat noodles, not spicy. It was good but did not stand out like some of their other dishes. 3⁄5 — Pad Kee Mao with chicken: Another flat noodle dish, but this one was much better than the pad see ew. It has a bit of a kick to it, but its not so spicy that you won’t enjoy it.(trust me, I cant go past medium heat on regular wings –self proclaimed spicy light weight —) 4⁄5 — Massamun Curry: I was looking for yellow curry and was not sure which one to choose, however I think the Massamun was a hit! I wanted flavorful with a touch of heat, not overwhelming heat. My only suggestion would be to order extra rice as the curry does not come with anything on the side. 5⁄5 — Love bird in the golden: This one was an interesting one. The dish came with the noodles in a separate container than the sauce and chicken. I waited a minute or two after pouring the sauce over the noodles before eating it. The noodles were not my favorite, I felt like they were too hard even after soaking in the liquid for a couple of minutes. 2⁄5 Delivery: Given that I live 1.5 blocks away, I have never experienced a late delivery and all my food comes nice and hot(icy cold for the iced drinks). 5⁄5 Overall: 4⁄5. I love this place! There are a lot of great spot on hits, however there were a few misses. So glad they opened up near me!

Was nearby for a night and decided to get take out to take back to the hotel. It’s not super cheap, but I thought the peanut sauce on the Thai Salad was very good, and the Green Curry with Roast Duck was very tasty. A lot of veggies in the curry sauce. Portions are quite big, save for the white rice, which was adequate. Didn’t eat in, but the décor looked pretty decent, and I’d consider eating in if I were ever back here. One caveat– Unilocal(as of writing) incorrectly places the restaurant a half west of its actual location, so beware.

Decoration was nice. Dishes taste so good and the plates look pretty and special. But the Thai ice tea/coffee is a little bit of sweet.

Recently moved to the Queens Plaza area, 2 blocks away from House of Thai; saw this place on an exploratory walk around the neighborhood. I decided not to cook on a late Thursday, so my wife and I took the opportunity to try it out; so happy we did! To start — we were looking for a cocktail or wine but they do not have their liquor license yet. However, they said there were a couple places close to purchase beer, wine etc. or we certainly could bring something from home; very accomodating! We were fine with that, next time we will be prepared. Atmosphere — charming. Service — Great — May and Kivara were fantastic! Pricing — Fair if not excellent Food: We shared Edamame and Calamari very good and smaller less expensive portions. Wife had Fancy Noodles(chicken/shrimp) — Delicious, she only allowed me one small taste I had Jungle Curry(super spicy) with Chicken — I couldn’t get enough. I convinced my wife to get dessert, we selected Fried Ice-cream to share — Wow, it was delivered flambé which helped make it even crispier — not to mention the amazing presentation — very tasty and a perfect finish. We will certainly return; many times!

Décor was nice, waitresses were friendly but the food wasn’t so great. Even the Thai iced coffee wasn’t so great according to my coffee loving friend. The size of the plates were HUGE and it was a nice presentation but the food portion was ok. The taste of everything we got was not what I had tasted when I ate Thai at other establishments in elmhurst. The Tom yum had a weird sour taste which I didn’t like so much and my crying tiger had a boring flavor on the beef. The sticky was just plain old sticky rice but it was my first time having it at a Thai restaurant. My friend loved the zapp wings which were spicy. The fancy noodles were just spaghetti noodles in a sauce and it wasn’t spicy when it said it was on the menu. My friend had the duck and barely touched it. The roti masamun I had for an appetizer was ok but could’ve been more flavorful. At least my friends and I can say we came and tried this new hot spot on Unilocal but we won’t be coming back again.

Called for take out and the order came wrong. We called them to correct the issue and the owners personally came to our door to apologize and correct the mistake. It was so unnecessary but such a nice thing to do. The food was really great. Have dined in the restaurant since and have been treated with the same great service. Again food was really great! Happy to have them in the neighborhood!

I went there on a Sunday night around 10 and I can say for as late as it was the customer service was on point. The waitress was so happy and attentive it was amazing. I had the Dancing Chicken I believe it was called and my boyfriend had something with steak both were really good. When it came out I didn’t even want to eat it because it looked so pretty, but of course I did. Idk how they had time to do all the decorative stuff so intricately in that short time unless it was pre done but it didn’t taste that way. The décor in this place was cool. It was dim lighted when we went and I couldn’t stop staring at the pretty chandelier. The bathroom was super clean which is a plus for me. The prices weren’t too bad I feel like it was the pretty average for a Thai restaurant my meal was around $ 13 and so was my boyfriends. Experience was cool!

House of Thai is a delicious new Thai restaurant in LIC, just a few blocks from Queensboro Plaza on 40th. Until their liquor license goes through, the place is BYOB with no corkage fee, making it an amazing place to drink out with your friends for minimal cost. Our party of 5 full-grown adults ordered 3 appetizers and 4 large entrees, and the total only hit about $ 130 Appetizers — Wing zapp — hot and spicy chicken wings — Crab Rangoon — Summer Rolls Entrée’s — Pork Pad Kee Mao — Red Snapper Whole Fish — House of Thai special duck curry — Tamarind Duck To me the standout was the duck curry, a delicious red curry with coconut milk, fresh basil and pieces of tropical fruit throughout. OF course, there was the yummy fried duck in there too, can’t go wrong with that. Everything was well cooked and came with a healthy proportion. The presentation on the red snapper was top notch. The ambiance inside is open and spacious, with vintage bulbs and specialty lights all around. It’s on the corner, so there are tons of large windows that would flood the place with light during the day. The staff was polite, knowledgable and accommodating. We will definitely be going back here, probably even after the BYOB stops :)

Saw this place open up right by my home recently, and so we decided to give it a try. The space was nice, service was excellent, and the food was very enjoyable! I personally wish my green curry had been spicier, but I am sure if I had specified how spicy I like things I would have been accomodated. The fried rice and noodles we ordered were pretty on point. The food overall was delicious and nicely presented. As the evening went on, the restaurant became more populated and the atmosphere was enhanced by the sunlight coming in through all of the windows. Definitely a place to check out!
