Elite Car & Limousine Service

I needed ground transportation to LGA for an early am flight and turned to my corporate vendor for a reliable car service. Elite arrived promptly at my residence for my scheduled 5AM pick-​up and the driver was standing outside his car with the trunk open once I emerged from my door. The car was clean and the driver was courteous.
Currently, I’m working out a billing issue with the vendor as my airport transfer rate was quoted at $ 45 yet my AMEX was billed $ 75. From door to door, NO traffic, this is a 20 – 30 minute ride. I’m hoping their accounts receivable department can remedy this situation and make good on keeping me as a client. Otherwise, the experience will leave me no option but to patronize Lyft or uberPool. Look out for my updated review.
Update: The $ 75 was a hold on my AMEX until they processed the trip. The airport transfer totalled $ 55.02. Too much in my opinion for a 30 minute ride however, I felt and arrived safely. I’ll price Lyft and uberPool for my next airport run.

I just used elite for the second time. The first time was ok and I thought the 20 mile an hour ride from Long Island City to Astoria (not long) was a fluke thing. I paid with my credit card and was done.
Today I used them a second time. My driver was 30 minutes late (after the 10 minutes and then the 5 minutes I was quoted) then, when I went to pay the $ 10 he quoted with card he, got angry with me for not having cash. Then, when forced to use his credit card slips– charged me $ 3.00 for the slip, then another $ 3.00 for tax and the truly me I caused. Then wanted a tip. I’ll admit that as a waitress, I am a huge tipper. I tipped him $ 2.00 on the $ 10 and he was angry. I feel hipped for the $ 18 I paid to go a mile and a half. What a rip off. Better off with yellow cab.- or green.

This review is for the Elite operation in Manhattan. I have used this service in New York City in good weather several times with acceptable results, however one rainy morning the car, ordered three days In advance, did not arrive at the appointed time. When I called to ask why, I was told the car had not yet been assigned and that Elite did not guarantee cars or pick up times. Why would anyone use such a service? Clearly I won’t ever again. Had it not been for Über, I would have missed my plane.

This is the most shitty cab experience i had. I had a prepaid car booked. On arriving the destination the driver insisted on my card. I gave the card for identity verification. Thats what they called it. A couple of days later i see two separate charges of $ 152 and $ 117 on my credit card! and this was a prepaid cab. Now these guys have charged money previously and then post journe they take money from my personal account. ON calling their accounts department they were just scamming me! Seriously wouldn’t suggest to anyone. BEWARE OF THESE SCAMMERS!!!

The only elite thing about Elite Limo is their uniquely terrible management. Considering they charge ostentatious prices, one would expect exceptional service but instead I received Andrew «operations manager» who’s attitude was palpable and absolutely unhelpful. If you enjoy spending too much money for subpar service… I recommend Elite.

Always on time! Drivers actually show up 30 – 15 mins prior to the pick up time 99.9% of the time if it’s an out of manhattan pick up

If you are looking for a car service that will potentially leave you stranded in an unfamiliar airport in another state at 1am, look no further.
Almost left me as such twice in the same trip — first when the driver started to drive off with someone else (luckily I called as he was pulling away), and second when the driver said he didn’t want to take me with my small dog. It’s never been a problem before, and when I asked they apparently refuse to ask about pets during bookings as a matter of policy, instead stating that customers should «simply know» to bring it up themselves and that drivers can leave customers stranded if they choose.
Their customer service rep was quite indifferent to all this. Imagine your wife or daughter being stranded at 1am. Will never use again.

Would love to give them 0 stars. My company has multiple car service they use and I will never use elite again. I called to reserve a car at 6:45 am, then called to confirm the pick up and explained the importance of timeliness and that if they anticipated traffic I would prefer them to be early than late. I called back to confirm the pick up time the night before pick up. On the morning of, after waiting 8 minutes beyond the pick up time, I called an discovered the pick up time was changed to 7:45. I explained that the time was 6:45 and I needed a driver ASAP. I also requested that a manager call me back so I could issue a complaint against the dispatcher who changed the time. I received attitude from the man on the phone, and he told me a manager would call me and «check the tapes to see what happened.» His tone insinuated that I was somehow at fault and asked for the wrong time. Absolutely not the way to treat a customer, especially one you already inconvenienced and made late to a meeting.
I will absolutely never use this service again.

My work booked me with Elite for pick-​up/​drop off from LaGuardia to Manhattan and I had zero issues with both rides.
For my pick-​up my flight went through a few delays. I called from my stop over to give them a heads up I’d be late and the dispatcher said they would watch the flight number and ensure I had a ride. My car drove up within one minute of my being outside and I had a smooth trip to my hotel.
My pick-​up was even better thanks to the amazing driver Harry. Harry was like the Indian grandfather you always wanted and he doted on me the entire ride even asking if I wanted to stop off for some chai at his favorite restaurant. We chatted the entire way about life, philosophy, etc. and it was nothing short of lovely. Harry was the epitome of customer service and I’ll be sure to request him on my next trip to NYC.
$ 68 from the airport to my hotel at 7^th and 31^st.
peace, love, and you can drink all the good booze you want when someone else is driving you around ~ chase

If you would like to actually get picked up, I would strongly suggest you pick a different car service.
While planning pick-​up from the airport after a vaction we booked this company a week in advance with a credit card. After a 4 hr flight we spent a ½ searching for a driver that never showed up.
When we called to see where our cab was the person informed us that there was too much traffic on the BQE so he wont be coming. How about a phone call to let us know? Thankfully there were plently of OTHER cab services there to get us to our destination!

Competitive pricing and nice to deal with.
However, the day of our wedding, they promised to be there early, and they were not. They didn’t even show up on time. They lied about being stuck in traffic (I too, was on the L.I. expressway and still made it on time to the hotel, and anyone from L.I. should be familiar with the traffic there).
The driver was slightly rude to the groom in his responses, and seemed to care less he was late.
For the rides home, the driver loaded too many people on the bus (over capacity by law) and supposedly got a ticket (no one from the wedding seemed to mention it which is suspicious).
Wouldn’t use them again. On our wedding day, it really caused too much grief.

Once upon a time, Elite was in fact an elite car service in New York. Alas, either they expanded too quickly for their own good or the contraction in available investment banking jobs has resulted in average to below-​average service.
Borough to borough, the service is just fine. Getting picked up at the airports, on the other hand, is a complete and total clusterbang. They try to persuade you to do outside, on-​the-​fly pick-​up, but the drivers are rarely on time and ready to go. You can demand inside pick-​up, but I’ve had no shows 50% of the time. This has been both a LaGuardia and JFK experience. Most of the value of a car services is accountable airport transport, but in this area, they are quite annoying.
Their prices are somewhat reasonable, you pay a 50% premium relative to cabs. Carey — the top notch service in the city — is definitely the best, but you pay more than a 100% premium to standard cab fare.

My company decided that Elite was the service to use so I do.
The pros — they are fairly cheap, the cars are generally new, the reservation/​billing system is good, and the drivers tend to know where they are going.
And the cons — pick-​ups from home are usually on time and reliable but pick-​ups at LaGuardia are painfully unreliable. Drivers lie about being on-​scene and the dispatchers don’t seem to care as you watch everyone else from your flight get in cabs and go on their merry way.
Now that you can use an Amex in cabs (if I pay cash I always forget to put it on my expense report) I’m guessing that will be a better option for getting back into the city from the airport.
