I cannot recommend Oswaldo more highly. When my grandfather passed away this fall there was an old chair of his that I wanted for my home in NYC. My aunt shipped it to Astudillo Design; I shipped the fabric; and a few weeks later, they delivered the beautiful, detailed, reupholstered chair. They are worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY. I would use them again and again. If i can figure out how to add before and after pictures, I will… the work is stunning.

I had a mid century modern chair reupholstered by Astudillo Design and they did a beautiful job. Very professional job and great price. Service was also excellent. Very kind people who worked on every facet of the project.

I had chairs and an ottoman recovered by Astudillo. It was very easy to communicate my designs with Diana via email. I chose my own fabric and leather and all pieces were completed in less than two weeks after the fabric arrived. Everything looks great and is finished beautifully. I had spoken with others. Premier didn’t want to work with leather and brought samples of their own fabric which were very thin and felt cheap and the price per yard was the same as the Kravet fabric I chose. The other labor costs were much more expensive. Very pleased with my experience.

20 years ago, I purchased a sofa that was part of the Pace Collection designed by Irving and Leon Rosen. While searching all over NYC for a replacement, I found a lot of sofas that were either way way overpriced or of very poor quality, or both. I then realized that the best alternative was to find a high-​quality upholsterer to restore the good work of the original. I read a lot of Unilocal reviews and finally zeroed in on Astudillo Designs. I visited Oswaldo at his studio twice and communicated very thoroughly and easily with Diana via email. I shared about a dozen samples of fabric with Oswaldo and he helped to select the final. The sofa was picked up as scheduled, and returned 2 weeks later as promised. WOW! It is indeed BEAUTIFUL. The Rosens would be proud. I will forever return to Oswaldo for any future upholstery needs. If you have work to be done — — RUN, don’t walk, to Astudillo Designs. Bravo!

I could absolutely not have found a better upholsterer for my beloved parsons chairs. I chose Astudillo based on the Unilocal reviews, and when I find something great I want to make sure others get in on the action as well. I chose a pretty complicated fabric and the team made it look seamless from front to back. And there are two of them and they look as though I bought them in this fabric together. Stunning.
It is worth every penny to get your work done here. In fact, I have two more chairs I need done and I am willing to rent a car and drive them from Harlem to LIC just to make sure that Astudillo does them because I know they will do them right.
(I also had them done almost two full years ago and they are still stunning.)
They are cash only, so be prepared for that.

If I could give 10 stars I would. I manage a property for a high net worth family. Normally we would pay in excess of $ 30,000 for reupholstering of a sofa, etc. Astudillo was recommended to me from a vendor of mine. The quality of craftmanship is unsurpassed. We use very expensive and delicate fabrics, leathers, silks, horsehair, vintage fabrics, etc. All of the pieces he has created for us are beyond perfection, padded correctly. The attention to detail is fantastic (we are perfectionists). Amazing quality, very reasonably priced, excellent communication, sticks with deadlines, honest, friendly, helpful… it really does not get better than Astudillo Design.

Oswaldo did an excellent job upholstering my lounge chair. He was very detailed and neat. Diana was very nice and helped answer my questions and gave me a very reasonable quote. The entire process was efficiently managed and executed.
This is the place to go to when you want a competitive price, quick schedule, and quality work.

I just used oswaldo and diana for the second time… they are THE BEST… and i consider myself a perfectionist.
the first time they reupholstered 3 office chairs for me, this time they repaired and reupholstered a family antique that i wasn’t sure was able to be saved… THEY MADE THE CHAIR BETTER THAN IT EVER WAS! i can’t wait to see what they do with my next project.

I didn’t know much about hiring a reupholsterer except that they all seemed too expensive for the pair of cheap, ugly chairs I bought on eBay. But Astudillo Designs had a different vibe than everyone else I talked to – they were kind, offered a quick turnaround time, and gave a very fair quote — and I decided to go with them.
I was really stunned when I got the chairs back — I wasn’t expecting much for these lowly specimens, but now they look like a million bucks: the pair match precisely, the fabric patterns are centered and aligned perfectly, and all of the seams are crisp and clean.
