After the closing of our favorite pottery place in ocean grove which my children and I were regulars at, we were very pleased to say the least to have found The PINK ELEPHANT Pottery studio in asbury. Yay! This place is so pretty inside, with lovely displays and décor which add to the experience. There is a great selection of raw pottery items to choose from and also items that can be covered in mosaics or made to look like stained glass. Today was our first time and we found items to not only paint but we were able to add crushed glass pieces into the recesses which melt into the shape when the piece is fired in the kiln. My daughter and I made a large dragonfly each in this method and my son painted a pottery piece shaped like a shark which will compliment the theme of his bedroom. Lovely, pleasant and helpful staff member made sure we had everything we needed and was nice enough to answer the seemingly endless questions of my two 9 year olds… An overall fun and pleasant experience. We love this place. Will be back!
