Good coffee, nice servers, food was good. I got a bagelini(panini pressed bacon, egg, and cheese on a bagel). Home fries were ok, but not my style. I went at noon on a Wednesday and service was good and food was quick.

We were headed to BGD next door when we decided to change things up a peek our heads inside… so happy we did! Walked into a cozy, friendly environment that didn’t care we already had our Rook in hand(they were more disappointed that we didn’t call ahead for their order). Food was fresh and delicious. Service was spot on. Treated like family and it was our first visit. Nono French Toast — BAM! Awesome! Omelettes were fresh and cooked to perfection. Can’t wait to return! Love the love they give the MU students. Worth every one of the 5 stars… and the prices can’t be beat!

I don’t write many reviews, but this place deserves a full 5 stars. The food is amazing. Most places seem to do better on certain dishes than others, but I haven’t found a dish here that wasn’t noticeably more delicious than other places I’ve had something similar. The owner is always around and very friendly and welcoming, a very easy small talker. Not too much but not feeling ignored. It’s nice to see an owner who clearly takes pride in his food. You can tell each plate is made with attention to detail and that’s reflected in the quality of the ingredients and taste of every dish.

Really disorganized staff, if you’re not a regular you will be overlooked. Had to send my over easy eggs back because they were over well. The new waitress wasn’t allowed to use the register so that made my long wait even longer. I don’t think I’ll come in here again.

My mom and I came here for breakfast after we saw the sunrise at the beach. I had ordered the banana Nutella french toast and my mom ordered the tropical fruit pancakes. Although the banana Nutella french toast was delicious I thought the bread was too thick and they’re really stingy on the bananas. Also the ‘whipped cream’ on there tasted like whipped butter. My mom enjoyed her tropical fruit pancakes except for the fact that there was cantaloupe on it we both thought that was very weird and did not taste good. Also our waitress was really bad she swept the floor outside while our food was there and didn’t know half of the stuff on the menu when we asked her questions about it. Also the home fries were good but lacked salt.

I came here on a Saturday morning at 10:30ish, so I wasn’t too surprised when my food took a while to come out. I got Nuno’s Favorite French Toast, and boy was it good! Definitely worth the wait. I will say however that service wasn’t the best– I know that the restaurant was busy, but they really only had two waiters for all of the tables in the place. Although it’s not big, it’s not small either. There were times when our waitress forgot about us, which I wasn’t that mad about because I’m pretty patient. But I know for sure that there are many impatient people out there who would’ve been mad about having to wait so long. We were also seated without utensils or napkins, so that was another small thing that bugged me. Overall a good experience and I would come back to try something else.

I’m not sure I ever would have found this yummy little café if it hadn’t been for Unilocal.I met an old friend for pancakes the other day. I’m super picky about breakfast and especially my pancakes since they are a treat. I got banana pancakes w strawberries and peanut butter. My friend had the canolli French toast. The toast was thick and well prepared. All the plates get fruit :) Only downside I can say was the décor. Nothing fancy about it. It’s a bit misleading Bc the dishes are special.

This place is a great way to waste 2 hours of your life. Let me clarify that this is not an «angry rant» review and I’m just telling it like it is. I guess I should blame myself for walking in on a Friday at 12:15 and thinking I’d be able to get food in a reasonable amount of time. We sat at the counter for 90MINUTES nursing iced tea and the two small(but tasty) croquettes they gave us before we got our order. A burger and two eggs should NOT take 90 minutes! The cook and the wait staff were openly arguing over a miscommunication regarding an order. Seeing this infighting amongst staff(with profanities being thrown around) was a turnoff. I was there to relax and eat, not watch ‘Kitchen Nightmares’. I also saw a table of 4 get up and leave after an hour of no food. I can’t blame them. The food was actually good and the portions were generous, but certainly not waiting that long for. The wait staff was polite and they tried their best, but I’ll never go back to this place. There are plenty of other options within walking distance.

This place is wonderful. It’s a lovely little diner a little off of the shore, with a very courteous, attentive, and prompt wait staff. The portions are very generous, and the prices are very reasonable(my iced coffee and gigantic Nutella French toast came out to $ 11.70, tax inclusive. The food was very tasty, and there was no wait, which was easily one of the best parts(a couple other restaurants I called had waits of 40 – 60 minutes, which I just didn’t want to deal wirh). The atmosphere is very relaxed(played plenty of Sinatra, Gaye, and other old school music. Adds to the nice vibe to the place), and the entire place is quite charming. Highly recommended, and when I come back to the shore, I will definitely be coming here again.

I’m not sure about all the drama on this page but internet is internet. The food is very good to excellent, the portions are generous, and the prices are extremely fair. I’ve never had a problem with service. Breakfast is very good and the paninis can be great but definitely go for the sweet dough croquettes. Anyway, there are a lot of outstanding breakfast-lunch joints in the area and I gladly give this place my money.

Never before have I left a restaurant because my appetite disappeared at the treatment of staff by the owner. I am appalled that anyone feels they have the right to berate, belittle and threaten an employee in the manner I witnessed today. The service could not have been more attentive and pleasant. Some of the food was delicious. But nothing could persuade me to return to this place. I apologized to the waitress for the behavior of her employer. No one should be treated in that manner. I then made it quite clear to the owner that I was leaving and would not be back because his behavior was inexcusable and intolerable. Threatening her with dismissal, humiliating her in front of customers and coworkers. The poor woman was in tears and he was relentless. By the way, I was in the front of the small restaurant by the door while he did this behind the counter near the grills. That is, the place may not be large, but I was pretty much as far from them in the room as it allowed and still plainly heard the jerk. I’m thoroughly disgusted. I hope that the server finds a new job soon where she will be treated with the respect, dignity and kindness she deserves.

WORSTSERVICEEVER. We got in and there was no wait so we sat down pretty quickly. It took a little longer than we hoped for menus but that was okay. We put our order in and it took at least 45 minutes. I am not sure if they lost the ticket or what the deal was but we were pretty patient until the people next to us who got there after we ordered had received their food and practically finished it by the time we received ours. There was no apology for waiting so long for food and when we got the food– it was not even that good. At the end we asked for the check and our waitress kept forgetting the check. I will not be back.

I would like to begin by saying I have never written a review on anything ever before. However after having this place, I felt i had no choice. This is the worst food I have ever had. School cafeteria food is leaps and bounds better. Don’t go here. The eggs were disgusting, the toast was soggy, the bacon and sausage was so foul I wouldn’t even consider feeding it to my dog.

I’ve been residing in the area for quite some time, oddly enough I have only been here three times. Needless to say, the three times, over the past few years, have been memorable. The place is tiny. There is an outdoor area, of course weather permitting. I personally have never had to wait to be seated, but when it does get packed, it can be a little crowded and loud. My first time stopping in I ordered a panini and I was super pleased with my choice. The prices are reasonable and the staff is beyond welcoming. The owner is super friendly and the staff manages to keep you feeling welcome your entire visit. My second stop was with my family. A much larger party, on a busy morning. Service was much slower, but honestly what do you expect. This joint is tiny! And the kitchen area, located directly behind the bar is tiny as well. If you can be patient, do try them out. The food was great even though the service was a little slower. We had coffee and conversation to keep us occupied. I much prefer this place when it’s a little less packed. My most recent visit, a friend and I stopped in for lunch, but we ordered breakfast instead. This was by far my favorite visit. Not only has each time been better than the last, but I decided to order from the specials menu. I had ordered an omelette with tomato, asparagus, and Gorgonzola cheese. This omelette was very very good. It was tasty, all the ingredients were fresh, the coffee was fresh as well. Prices are quite reasonable. For two people the bill came out to around $ 20. The only downfall of this place is the uninviting interior. And I have felt like this since my first visit. It’s dark inside. which makes the place feel even smaller, and old. Other than that I will return. One thing to keep in mind is that this is a breakfast and lunch place, so it does close rather early.

I eat here 2 – 3 times a week, breakfast/lunch, always fresh, good food. I always have salmon or talapia over spinach. They give you a custard croquet when you sit down, delicious, nice touch. You won’t be disappointed.

Bön Appetite is the«Cheers» of local breakfast joints. The food is tasty(especially the specials), the wait staff is friendly, and the owner shakes everyone’s hands. I tend to get omelets, but I’ve had their fruit-rich French toast, salmon linguine, and delicious turkey burgers. While it’s a breakfast/lunch restaurant no one will judge if you bring a little wine with lunch(only for special family occasions, of course!). I highly recommend this adorable little restaurant whenever you need to feel fed like a king with some friends. Oh, and the croquettes are way too good!

Just stopped in for coffee on a chilly day, and they welcomed me warmly, everyone greeted me, they brought me a pastry on the house. Reminds me of why it’s good to patronize local, non-corporate-chain businesses. I’d definitely come back for a meal, and maybe add that 5th star.

‘Twas a morning hot as balls(yes, the heat was THAT disgusting), and the peeps and I desperately needed quick, cheap eats before lazing our day away on the beach. Bön Appetit’s menu seemingly fit the profile, with its standard diner fare and affordable prices. Sadly, we entered hungry and left with a tummy full of regret. See, what had happened was: SETTING: We passed on the outdoor seating — which would have been preferred on a much cooler day — and went indoors for relief from the heat, but much to our dismay, inside was just as hot as outside. Low AC + heat from open kitchen + packed restaurant = human stew. SANITATION: There were no open tables so we sat at the counter. The open kitchen area was directly behind the counter. It was a mess, and while I appreciate the transparency of having an open kitchen, it would have been much more settling to see a little order and cleanliness in effect. SERVICE: Horrible to the nth degree. Our waitress took FOREVER to simply give us the menu and even snapped at one of my peeps when he asked a question. FOOD: The food took just a smidgen under a lifetime to come out. Granted we were given complimentary fried croquettes [sweet potatoes filling?] to hold us over, but we didn’t care for it. I had the garden omelet wrap w/home fries + french toast. The carnivores had bacon, egg and cheese sammies with corn beef hash. All very pedestrian items, that did not warrant the painfully long… and HOT wait time. Perhaps this place is wonderful on a slow day, I don’t know. But I do know that when the house is full, forget about it. The two cooks were definitely overwhelmed, but to their credit they did their best to pump out orders, but the damage was already done. We won’t be back.
