Very hip nyc village vibe. Appetizers, dinner desert and drinks were excellent. Owners Michael and Sam are very interactive with the clientele. This is a hidden gem!

Enjoyed the food and the ambiance. Hanger steak was good, but a little overcooked for medium rare. Nice little restaurant that I would consider going back to if we vacation in the area again.

This eclectic place was a real treat to dine in. The dining room was originally the Chef’s apt! Adding to the nostalgia of dining there. The yam risotto was a special that night. We ordered it as an appetizer. Creamy and just the right texture. On to the 14oz parmesean veal chop. Perfectly crispy crust yet tender on the inside. I ate all 14 ounces! The waitress was attentive and savy making out experience fun and seamless. Can’t remember her name but it’s a guys name and I would recommend her as a server.

My husband and I recently had dinner here. I am a Celiac and after explaining my concerns to the waitress, she spoke to the chef and he prepared me a delicious dish that was totally gluten free. I couldn’t be happier and we will be returning soon. Thanks for a great evening! Linda S Sperling Car Service

My wife and I recently dined at Second Floor and true to its name it was on the second floor requiring a climb up(and later down) a long, steep poorly illuminated staircase. One then entered a bright, modern bar area but we were seated in the quieter room in the back which we had requested per a friend’s advice. The room was quite small but cozy with four tables. In the center of our table was a glass vase containing long bread sticks. A bite into one proved them to be almost rock hard making me wonder if they were ornimental but the busboy assured me they were edible… but not by me! We were further surprised when our request for bread was answered first with«we only serve the bread sticks». Later, our waitress, who was most solicitious said she could get us some garlic bread which we welcomed.

First experience here and the overall experience was very good. House made ravioli delicious but the sauce a little on the heavy and sweet side. Pork chop was a killer, outstanding in every respect. No bread but instead those long cheesy sticks that were fine but not a good replacement for bread service. The ambience was so cozy and intimate and the service fine. Bottom line: We would go back again and a few small changes on their part could elevate them into five star territory.

Wow! What a surprise! We were looking for a place to eat on a very very rainy Friday night. The band we wanted to see playing at the Brighton Bar was not on till 11. So down the street we went and ducked into the door, up the stairs and we were greeted by a lively crowd and a great host. After a few minutes we were seated in a beautiful room, nice sized table, crispy white tablecloth and napkins. The room felt great and was beautiful. Up came some drinks and crispy thin breadsticks. We shared a crab and corn chowder, OMG! Fantastic! Then the octopus salad. OMG! OMG! Not only was it beautifully presented but the flavor and tenderness was superb. Then the Pork Chop and a roasted Branzino. Both were great! If you plan to try it, call and make reservations.

I have been a patron of 2nd Floor since it opened and cannot recommend this restaurant to enough people. The setting is elegant, intimate and very inviting. It feels as if you are dining in a close friend’s swanky NYC apartment. The lighting is just right and the seating either in the front room or in the back is comfortable and inviting. After walking up the stairs, you are greeted warmly. Seating at the bar is very enjoyable if you have to wait for your table. Now the food and drinks are what you came for, and, in my humble opinion, you will not be disappointed. The martinis are perfectly mixed, generous in size, and cold… just the way I like them. The menu is well balanced and has something for everyone. Sam’s cooking is superb, and you can taste the love and expertise he puts into every dish. Not to be missed are the octopus salad, crab cake, and chicken liver mouse appetizers. The liver mousse is excellent for sharing amongst 4 or more people… very rich and decadent. My favorite dinners include the duck(epic!) and the assorted fish entrees. The pork chop is succulent. Enjoy your time here at this unique place on the jersey shore, one of the true gems in boutique restaurants!
