I went The Station for Hair in Long Beach because I live in the area and thought it would be convenient to find a local place I could keep going to. I had highlights($ 160) and a cut($ 45) + tip i paid $ 250. I would never go back. The highlights came out OK, amazingly since she didn’t check them very often but the cut was done in only 10 min. and looks it. All the stylists were so busy trying to pacify the owners daughter, who acted like a 20 year old brat that wanted something done to her hair that everyone didn’t agree that no one in the place could have another conversation. On top of that all the workers were so busy chatting about dates they gone on or checking their phones and debating where and what to order for lunch, it’s amazing anyone gets any attention there. It was like a bunch of teenage school girls in the school yard gossiping.

I have been going to the Hair Station since Dec 2014. Each experience has been better and better. I have unruly curly hair that I can’t manage. So I get it blown straight often. Karol has a great hand for curly hair. She gets my hair straight and it lasts a week or longer. Also the receptionist Alana is very Accommodating and The owner wants to make her customers satisfied. I have also had my hair colored by Karol and she did a wonderful job. I referred my mom to her for a hair cut and she did a great job w my moms hair which is much different than mine. give it a try if your in the area you won’t be disappointed.

Judy’s shop is beautiful clean and alway decorated beautifully for every holiday. The staff is warm and friendly. My highlights always Pop! I get a great cut at a reasonable price and Christine does a great blow out.

I am back to update. Since I was first here this past summer, I have used other stylists here(likely hit all of them except the owner!). Again, gracious receptionist/welcoming staff, beautifully clean space — and just an overall lovely environment. The blowouts are great and LAST! Price is very reasonable. I cannot comment on haircuts or color as I really come here for my blowouts since I live a couple of blocks away. It definitely has become my ‘safety’ place… I don’t think about going to any other place in Long Beach for a blow out.

I will never go back to this place again. On my 3rd and final trip there I was so enraged from the second I walked in till the second I left. I only go because of Wendy, who trims my hair very well. Unfortunately, I had the displeasure of meeting the owner that day. She had her 2 young children running around the small area making so much noise, their toys were everywhere & she did nothing to discipline them. She just waited for her Nanny to pick them up. We ALL waited. Since I don’t drive, while I was waiting for my cab she approached me in the reception area and asked about a treatment I had done at another salon since it was not offered by hers. I researched this technique assiduously to verify no chemicals were in it because I just dodged 2 cancer scares. Well, she began in on me how she survived 4 bouts with cancer, I must be «uneducated»(I have 3 degrees, one from Dental School!) and then went on to bad mouth me for choosing to straighten my hair. I’m a 54 year old grandmother! I think I earned the right! She then trash talked the salon I did go to which in my world is not only unprofessional but shows that she learned nothing after her bouts with cancer. She refused to listen to anything I said, disputed every fact I had & even referred to me in a hushed tone which made another worker there turn beet red. I didn’t wait around to find out. Normally, as someone who has a deep compassion for any human that is sick, injured or in emotional distress, I was unable to summon an ounce of empathy for this loud, brash, obnoxious woman. She won her battles with cancer but that doesn’t give her the right to be rude, make inflammatory comments & because of her inappropriate conduct lost a customer forever. The salon she bad mouthed? They will be my new«Station for Hair» from now on.

I went to this salon today for the first time for a Keratin Treatment. It was a wonderful experience. Nicole is extremely professional and understanding of time constraints. I met the owner who was also very accommodating. Very knowledgable staff who actually understand the service business. You should check it out!

I wanted to love this salon as it was close to home, boasts super friendly staff, and offers services for far less money than you’ll find at other salons in the Long Beach area, but I guess you get what you pay for. I’ve tried cuts and color with two different stylists and unfortunately my hair was always slightly botched in some way, either uneven cuts or uneven/wrong color. I support local business whenever I can, but The Station for Hair just doesn’t make the cut.

Nothing special. My hair cut was at best ok. They chopped off my hair and made no adjustments to the cut after the first round of chopping. I have extremely long thick hair, so normally it takes me at least half an hour to 45 mins to get a chop. The lady who cut my hair did it in under 10. It was cheap and it wasn’t awful so I’m giving them three stars.

Nice atmosphere and the staff is incredibly welcoming and friendly! I loved my haircut and the price is incredibly fair considering what other places in Long Beach cost, about $ 45. I definitely felt like I got a great cut, especially for the price! I shall be returning!
