A nice breakaway from the usual Starbucks routine. We tried a mango/blueberry smoothie which was pretty good and a hazelnut frappé. The hazelnut frappé was barely sweetened however the espresso was spot on. We just had to request more sweetener, and all was good. I can’t say I’m blown away but this coffee shop, but it’s a solid option if you want a bit of a better value than the usual Starbucks rip off.

my best friend rebel(my black lab) and i just moved to north carolina a month ago. the one and only thing that we miss is the coffee nut and the morning regulars. they have the best staff and the coffee is second too none. they blow away gentle brew and starbucks is not even in the same class. we miss y’all, kevin and rebel

I love getting coffee from here. All of their flavored coffees are delicious. It’s junk food galore on the counter tops, so you might have a hard time abstaining if pastry is your downfall. I wish they had some healthier options, I would buy them a lot more often. Two problems with this place– lack of parking. Do not park in the lot next door on the weekends, no matter the time of day because a tow truck stalks the lot. The other issue is that no cards under $ 10. Sometimes I don’t have any cash on me, so I will go to Gentle Brew instead of Coffee Nut because there is no minimum. Other than that, this place is my favorite. The owner is also maybe the nicest person in the universe and only hires staff that is sweet and friendly.

Love the little coffee joint. The yogurt muffins are great! Regular coffee great but the frozen carmel craze takes the cake during the summer.

A change from Starbucks. In fact this is what Starbucks was like when it had a single store in Seattle. Comfy and very good coffee with the right music. great addition to Long Beach.

I love this place. I’m a bit of a coffee nut, and I don’t stand for the swill some places serve up. The ice coffee is great on a Sunday morning as you head to the beach. The staff is welcoming and helpful.

This place has been under new ownership for some time now. While one of the two previous owners was an angel, the other was totally unbearable, so I stopped going. I am happy to say that the new owner kept all that was good, including the good coffee and those awesome«energy» bars. The staff is perfect, as it was before. It is nice to be able to call this place home once again.

Yummy coffee. $ 3.25 for a large iced coffee vs $ 3.20 at Starbucks but its a way better value since they dont load up the cup with ice. Cash only under $ 10 Awesome staff — they let you try the flavors of the day.

Coffee was phoned in. I wanted a medium sized cup and all they have was small large and ridiculous or something like that…

Local hangout with a nice vibe. Best thing going for it is the homely décor and feel plus the cast of friendly local characters that come by and smooze. Jennifer and Theresa recently sold the place to I think Country Boy bakery but whatever it’s under new management. Anyone really into«Coffee»(with a capital«C!») should take a pass and go across the street to Gentle Brew. where they take their coffee brewing much more seriously and actually roast their own beans right on location.

I stopped by here today and was enamored by the menu… so many fun options. After being told they were sold out of banana syrup(sad face), I decided on a caramel cappuccino. A large iced was only $ 4. It was strong and foamy. It seems like a super local place. Every time someone walked in, the cashier knew their name and/or order. That’s nice. I can’t wait to stop here before beach sessions in the summer.

You want to support a local business, especially one that is actually good, but it’s cash only unless you’re spending more than $ 10. I hardly ever carry cash but I always want a coffee. They force me back into Starbucks arms.

I really like the coffee here. The place is small and you can’t use a debit card unless you’re paying $ 10 or more, but for good coffee, I’ll keep the cash on me(or ask my boyfriend to pay). ;) , The atmosphere is really cool, too. I’m glad there’s a privately owned coffee place in the neighborhood, Starbucks isn’t my favorite.

Whenever I go to the beach I walk out of my way from the train station where Starbucks is right next to it then past a Dunkin donuts and past a few other places to stop in here. Cute place where local artists have their work on display. They don’t serve any food other then desserts but I had a healthy protein smoothie a few times and it was excellent and the«Energy cookie» is awesome The Coffee Nut is a perfect name for this place because if you love coffee then this is the place to get it. I’ve tried a bunch of different types and they are always great. Some days its better then others. I guess it depends on who is making the coffee that day. Other then fairway market I have never seen a place that sells so many different flavors and types of coffee by the pound. Coffee by the pound is a little pricey but well worth it once you get it home and brew it up. Staff is always friendly.

I try so hard to like this place but it’s so inconsistant. One owner is über chatty the other seems to not want to be there. The coffee sits in thermal pots and isn’t always hot or fresh. The pastry they have is all quite good, from the ones I’ve tasted. The bars(apricot and raspberry?) are out of control good. But the selections have been the same minimal amount since they’ve opened. The prices are higher than Starbucks. The art is always worthwhile to check out.

Nice selection of flavored coffees. Their house blend was OK. Frankly, I was surprised how they are priced slightly above Starbucks on their coffee and pastries, but nice atmosphere and a nice break from the olé stand-by. Will I go there again? Sure. Like supporting my local merchants. Will I become a regular? Probably not. Better value elsewhere.

Really cute coffee place and the people that work here are really nice. Definitely my choice over Starbucks. They need better snacks, but the coffee is great!
