Red Room

I love the Red Room! Everyone who works there is always nice and welcoming. Music is always perfect, never too overcrowded and loud. Pool tables are a plus! Great place for a couple drinks on a mellow night or the place to end your night and relax before going home! Again, love this place!

Needed a potty so stopped in for a cold beer, surprisingly a comfortable atmosphere for a local neighborhood bar. We got Icelandic White Ales, they have 8 taps all craft, except PBR. They have 10 TV’S playing baseball, golf, and soccer. We had been seated a while with our beers when a woman appeared with a container of chex pub mix and welcomed us. They have a jukebox and a pool table, and the old guy behind the bar was nice, not too chatty, but if I lived nearby I would definitely return.

Great place to have drinks. It’s a little small but the service is great! They have a great list of cocktails!

Awesome bar. I visited for the first time this week and it was a refreshing surprise. It is a low-​key and intimate venue, not like many of the other bars I’ve been too around LB. The drinks are also reasonably priced which is a plus.

Nice dude bartender! Small, intimate venue seems to be mostly local college kids. Mango sculpin for $ 5, can’t beat that! Plenty of seating & a few pool tables. Not bad

My husband and I normally go to Alex’s bar but decided to go somewhere different tonight… Everything was fine for the first hour or so, then two women approached our table and one of them started talking about a song that was paying that made her wanna fight yadda yadda, and one of them put her arm around my husband in her drunken state and he pushed her off. She then approached my side of the table and asked me if we were on a date and I said its my husband and she told the other girl they should leave our table. Awhile after the first girl came over again and asked to waterfall our beers and we said no and she got pissed and proceeded to claim she’s a regular there don’t mess with her, and called my husband a faggot and me an ugly b*#+%. I got up and told the bartender just in time as she tugged on my husbands jacket and as the bartender and bouncer reacted quickly she was kicked out as she threw her glass at the bar breaking a couple glasses and then looked at me through the door telling me to come outside. We were scared to leave and get into a fight we didn’t ask for and just wanted to enjoy our night out. We won’t be coming back soon as this is our first impression of the regulars. Thank you for the prompt responses, staff, to their drunken stupor, but please cut their liquor off sooner, as this was a terrible experience!!!

Cool place lined with skateboard decks. Haven’t run into a meathead or jerkass yet. Nice bartenders. Good neighborhood bar.

Laid back nice lil bar. The bartender bobby is always on it. There are a bunch of locals that go there but they welcome you with open arms. Has a pool table and a juke box and daily drink specials and tvs all around so if you need a drink and in the area this place to stop in at

No Blake no me. Home girl who wants kiis fm needs to go back to second st. Red Room had a niche but they lost their way. They have niw also lost me ad a customer.

Sad to say that this will not be my go-​to bar anymore. Letting Blake go was probably the worst decision the owners made. I best still be gettin’ those pickled eggs on the side though. *cough cough start your own biz
And in regards to the chick who clearly belongs at Panama Joe’s or Dogz, please take KIIS FM elsewhere. My daughter listens to Uptown Funk. The music is everything at the Red Room, no one wants to listen to that! Blake made a good decision by changing your horrible music choice that lowered the quality of the bar. The music and videos is what makes the bar so special to regulars. I’ll be sticking to V-​Room forever now.
Red Room will be losing a lot of regulars and money because of this!

I have been a regular here since 2003. In all that time what brought me back to spend my hard earned cash was the bartenders. Even when the neighborhood got shadier, even when they took the lock off the women’s bathroom (lame), even when they installed that hate machine they call a jukebox, even when chicks stopped coming and it was just a bunch of sour faced guys looking up at the bank of TVs, I came because the bartenders poured great drinks, were personable, smart, funny, and also knew how to handle security and make me feel safe. Blake and Josh aren’t working Weds nights anymore? Blake isn’t working there at all? I have to wonder what the hell is going on. Looks like the Reno Room is going back on the schedule.

UPDATE: Since I wrote the review below, Red Room has let Blake go. WTF?! They just lost two regulars in us. What the hell is the owner thinking? Fortunately, Blake is just up the street serving up even better drinks at The Stache! Go find him there. He’ll be happy to see you!
Since I wrote my first review, we’ve been Red Room regulars. We’re there every Wednesday, and often pop in on the weekends, too. Blake and Josh are awesome bartenders and people.
Last Wednesday, we showed up for some regularly scheduled drinking when we learned that Blake and Josh would no longer be our Wednesday bartenders. What the damn hell? Day. Ruined.
We love this place, but are really sad about how it has changed over the last six months. During weekend days, the vibe can only be described as «depressing.» This most recent development isn’t making us any happier. And now we have to find another Wednesday joint! I just want a watering hole I can be BFFs with for life, you know?
And yeah, Blake does have high standards when it comes to music. I speak for a lot of people there when I say I appreciate the shit out of that. He has high standards because people play a lot of garbage on that jukebox and such people have no business inflicting their poor musical taste on unsuspecting patrons who are just trying to enjoy their lives and not regret their hearing ability.
No one needs to hear Uptown Funk, especially when they probably heard it on the radio 18 million times that day. No one needs three CCR songs in a row, and Frank Sinatra certainly has his time and place, but it isn’t at the Red Room!

I love this bar! I’ve been a regular for the past 10 years! I love the punk rock/​rock n roll vibe of this bar but I was in here the other day and I heard crappy pop music and it made me yearn for the old days. I can easily go to vroom or the pike for a more rock n roll jukebox but I come here for the great service and awesome bartenders. Maybe go back to the old jukebox? Or iPod night? Just sayin’

Believe not the reviews of a scorned peddler of mainstream ear noise. Top notch bar and Blake’s a top notch bartender.

Drinks are pretty cheap and really good but the bartender Blake is the music Nazi. Do not spend any money in the jukebox because if Blake doesn’t like the song (who doesn’t like uptown funk??) then he will skip the song or turn it all the way down. He only plays music from the 60−70s era (music my parents listen to). If your looking for a cool bar to take your parents or grandparents to this place is your spot!!! If you like the current hits like KIIS 102.7 plays go somewhere else! But, for the love of God don’t waste your money playing music because you won’t be able to listen to it. Advice, Blake do your job and make the drinks and serve your customers and quit being a Music Nazi. For this reason I’m never going back to this bar.

Raddest bar this side of the Mississippi! Excellent drink special (a wrist snapping schooner of PBR =$ 5.50). friendly, heavy handed, attentive and a chill atmosphere full of locals make this a nice spot to come hang out after hours waiting for that 710 traffic to die down.

The Red Room is this cool little dive bar on 4^th St in Long Beach. There’s no parking lot so you’ll have to park on the street and make your trek there. It’s not far from Pizza Hut so you can technically grab a pizza and bring it into the bar with you! Drinking and pizza, ah those were the days. Oh wait, that might have been last week!
The bartenders are really nice and they pour a stiff drink. The service is fast and the drinks are cheap. There’s a pool table and an updated touchscreen jukebox. Very cool. Check out the Red Room if you go barhopping because you might just like it. It’s kind of small so it tends to get crowded. Don’t be surprised if the doorman keeps you outside.
