Papa John’s Pizza

Get it right. Seriously. Mess up my order twice. Garlic knots not that hard. 30 minutes later im still waiting…
But dont worry im watching them mess up my order again with their unwashed hands that just touched the computer screen and the phone. No gloves

The place has the worst service! A simple pizza takes an hour for delivery? Once the delivery man arrived, he sat in his car for a good ten minutes before leaving and claiming that I never answered my phone or door to let him in. He NEVER called my phone or rang the doorbell. When I called to complain, I was repeatedly placed on hold and then told that it was my fault that I never answered my phone and there was nothing that could be done to remedy the situation. Disgusting!

NEVER. AGAIN.
The first time I had Papa John’s was YEARS ago in Boca Raton, FL. I had never heard of it before coming from So Cal but it was so good. Then they had that garlic butter! It was delicious!
Wellllll then the company blew the F*CK up and I can say the quality is awful. It could be JUST this one just to be fair but ugh.
We ordered pizza, wings and green salads. The pizza wasn’t even really hot, wings were ok I guess but fatty as well and the green salad was just, um limp. The salad was my biggest turn off to be honest even tho the pizza was terrible. It came in like this segmented container with everything separate. It was a mess to get open. Nothing really had flavor in it. I added some mozzarella cheese, homemade blue cheese dressing and some pepperoncinis to it but it couldn’t save it. Hey I tried. I really, really tried.
Honestly the best part of the pizza was the crust when I dipped it in the garlic butter. You should have given at least two of those sides. God knows it needed it.
They took the order over the phone. We had a gift card and then was gonna pay the rest cash. Apparently the gift card wasn’t working but they didn’t call and tell us until they got to to the door. Hey call next time and let the customers know next time. We wasted time calling you guys back and making the deliver guy wait for us to find out what the problem is. I hate wasting people’s time.
Next time I’ll stick with Milana’s Pizzeria. It’s SO good. I don’t know why we ordered this place but it wasn’t my idea to be clear. Nope.

Considering I used to work for this franchise for many years in the past, I will never be able to be completely satisfied when I order now a days. I used to make masterfully layered and massive pies. My manager always wondered why the inventories were lower after I closed and that’s why.
With that said, I always order for Carry Out instead of delivery. I’m just impatient when it comes to delivery times and so many things could go wrong that I would rather drive the 3 miles myself. I never wait longer than 5 minutes too because this location is fast. Friendly staff and very attentive. Great rotating specials through the phone app. I completely recommend the Greek Style Pizza but it’s seasonal so look for it.

Omg if I can give them a zero I would. We did a phone order for pick up gave them our name and number once we got there they said we never got an order from that name or number. I double checked the phone number on my cell phone yup it was correct so someone there did take my order. They didn’t even ask if we wanted to still make an order or not. Just stood there and looked at us.

This is really bad pizza! I called in the order to pick up and the service @ this location is really bad too. Never gonna order from here or any Papa John’s again!

Generally I try to order from non-​chain pizza places but most of the time the wait on delivery from the best places is over an hour. I was hungover and hangry so I figured this place was my best bet. I ordered the double bacon pizza because Canadian bacon and regular bacon sounded frickin delicious. In my mind, Canadian bacon is basically thin pieces of ham. Not according to these guys. They put chunks of what tasted like cheap lunch meat ham under the cheese. The bacon was just weird undercooked fatty pieces that grossed me out. Also I had to wait over an hour for the pizza. Lesson learned, something delicious is worth the wait. Fat Tomato I’m sorry I cheated on you!

I placed an order online and they got it perfect. It was really goood! I always ask if they can make it ‘well done’ for that perfect crisp crust and they do. I would definitely comeback again. Thankssss

Why does this Papa John’s have to be the only one in the area. I like Papa John’s pizza. I used to live in Bixby Knolls and would order Papa John’s all the time. Never did I have any problems with that location. This location is a different story.
I ordered online like I always do and this time it was a simple Large Works pizza. It’s a signature pizza… no substitutes, no changes. So how can they get it wrong? Everything that comes with the Works was actually on the pizza, the problem is that one side had bell peppers and the other side didn’t. The other side had olives and the bell pepper side didn’t. At first I thought, «is this a joke,» but to be honest it looked like they just threw it together in a hurry.
I was so hungry at that point I really didn’t care… I wanted to eat. I took a bite of the pizza only to notice that it needed 3 — 5 mins more in the oven. The crust was slightly doughy and not cooked all the way. It was lukewarm and not tasty at all. If I wasn’t so hungry… I really don’t think I would have ate it at all, but it wasn’t detrimental to my health so I did. (NOT SMART… I regret it now.)
I really don’t know how busy they get, but it seems like most people don’t get their pizza in the ample amount of time that we should get it. The confirmation said it would take 30 to 40 mins but I received my pizza after an hour 10 mins from ordering it. This is the second time that it took forever to get my pizza AND it will be my last.
I really don’t know why I order from this Papa John’s when there are so many other pizzerias in the Downtown area. I’m definitely gonna pay the little extra to get a better tasting pizza with everything on both sides of my pizza (unless I indicate I want different things on both sides). I will pay the little extra to get my pizza HOT and fully cooked. Why didn’t I call to complain? Well for the simple fact that I will no longer be ordering a Papa John’s pizza from this location. I’ll call Dominos or Little Caesar before I spend any of my hard earned money on this place. Complaining would have just get me another pizza and they probably would get that one wrong too. Papa John’s it’s been great but it’s time to cut you loose.
Edit: I’m editing my review from 1 star to 2… only because the delivery guy was nice, funny, and apologetic from the wait. Make that guy the manager… he’ll prolly do a better job.

I hate delivery, I want my pizza now & avoid them extra fees! You would think ordering online there would be no mistakes. I didn’t want to call because of language barrier. It seems they can’t read either. But my bacon turn into olives!!! Not the BACON!
When I got there for the carry out those girls that was making the pizza was goofing off. This explain how they mess things up!

Consistent speed, quality (duh — it’s a chain) and convenient if you live in the Retro Row area of 4^th street in Long Beach. Unfortunately, I’m taking a star off for environment — it’s in the shopping strip on the West corner of 4^th and Cherry. The patrons at night are the typical LBC rif-​raf so if you live nearby you’ll be fine but we all know how off-​putting the street-​dweller locals can be in this area.
Conclusion: It’s Papa Johns for god’s sake — who reads (or writes for that matter) a full review for a chain pizza shop anyway? It’ll be nearly an identical experience to every other Papa John’s store you’ve ever been to. You’re welcome.

It’s Papa John’s. It’s the pizza you can dip in melted butter. The cheese was generously distributed in a very even fashion throughout the whole pizza. The crust was exactly the same thickness all the way around and the sauce and toppings were spread right to where the crust begins. They said 45 to an hour and it got here in 55 minutes. The woman who took my order was very professional and the driver was nice too. Thank you Papa John’s on 4^th and Cherry by that sketchy liquor store, I really didn’t want to cook tonight.

Great pizza, timely delivery. I usually order the Hawaiian BBQ chicken pizza; my personal favorite. Reliable service.

Took them OVER AN HOUR to deliver pizza. I live less than one mile away from the store!

Delivery tine took over 1 hr. Confirmation email states 30−40mins. At least pizza Hut gives u deals when you’re late.

Extremely slow. took 1 hour & a half to get pizza. I literally live down the street. never ordering from here again.

Maybe they went through a bad phase or something but I had a great Papa John’s experience today.
The lady on the phone was very nice and quite helpful. I asked about a special that had not been on the recording and she assured me that was available. The delivery woman was also quite friendly, arriving within the specified window of 35 – 45 minutes.
The pizza itself was fantastic!!! I had the works and added jalapeño, so good. Great amount of toppings and cheese, a little bit of everything in each bite. :)

I’ve pretty much had it with this location. I do like Papa John’s for delivery pizza but this location sucks! The only time I’ve had food poisoning in my life was from eating this location’s pizza. I only order from here, because it’s close to where I live (and again, I’m normally a PJ fan). My most recent delivery arrived cold and stale, and it wasn’t the first time this has happened. I’m sure I’ll have a lapse in memory in the future and will order again when I’m really desperate or lazy. I’m sure I’ll be pissed off at them and myself again and again.

I’ll admit it — I like Papa John’s. It’s good pizza.
But you know what isn’t good?
Supporting corporations and lining the pockets of rich people who only want to get richer. Supporting people who don’t think it’s right to ensure their workers have health insurance. Supporting idiots who don’t seem to understand that a country without a middle class will soon crumble.
SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES. Instead of Papa John’s, I recommend:
1. Canadian Pizza
2. Domenico’s
3. Buono’s
Let’s support our city, keep good small businesses going and run the big businesses out of town!

They brought me a pizza with the toppings all slid off like the guy had been holding the box sideways. Called the store and was told they would send another. Called an hour later and talked to Blanca who is the absolute rudest person I have ever talked to. She said she didn’t have to replace my pizza at all and they were just going to keep my money. I had to bring the pizza into the store and argue with them to have it replaced.
2.5 hours later and they wouldn’t refund the delivery charge and worst of all no one every apologized. Never ordering Papa Johns again.
