Long Beach Recreation Center

I learned how to swim in the rec pool. This place holds sentimental value to a lot of people in the community. I recently purchased a year membership & I’m happy I did. It is very affordable. The facility is clean. Crowded at certain times but that’s at every gym. I wish they had more cardio equipment but everyone is respectiful of the time limit, cleaning the equipment down & waiting their turn. The weight room is larger & offers a lot of different machines & free weights. The locker rooms & pool have been redone since Sandy & they did a great job. My favorite is the steam room. All the staff are friendly. It’s a great spot to run into neighbors, store owners & friends. It’s rare to go there & not see someone you know from the community. I also like supporting my local establishments. The hours of operation are convenient too.
