I learned about this motel through a coworker who was staying there. We were in town for work in the Wilmington Valero refinery and we’re scheduled to be there for 4 to 5 weeks. When I arrived in asked for a non smoking rooms yet I was given a smoking rooms due to «lack of availability» which I later learned was not true. I was given one of the older smoking rooms because as do most places we rent, they assume that because we are oil and gas employee so we are dirty and will destroy the rooms(which is never the case). I personally saw 5 other rooms that were vacant and we’re in better condition than mine(due to vacant rooms having their windows left open). The room didn’t smell to bad until I turned the a/c. Then it smelled like an ash tray. The carpet was dingy and filthy looking as was the couch, the comforter and the entire room in general. My complaints are: The TV was small and hardly worked, the mini fridge had rust in it, there was only 2 plugs in the entire room which forced me to have to shave and charge my phone one the dresser which also only allowed me to have 2 items plugged in at a time, the shower curtain had obviously not been changed in over a year, tub and toilet were blackened and dirty looking, the bed was loud from the sound of the plastic bed liner crunching under you, the sheets were dirty and full of stains, the curtains in the room had to be tied up so that air would actually flow into the room and not be trapped behind them. The cleaning service is rather persistent in wanting to clean and change your towels(which I didn’t use). The walls are super thin and have holes all over them. I could hear my coworkers talking and I was in room 210 and they were in 207. I would have left sooner, but as they do not issue refunds I had to stay a week. One of the employees knocked on the door so loud I thought it was LAPD or someone trying to break in. He rudely told me that it was checkout time and I needed to hurry up and pay or leave. He quickly changed his tune when confronted about his attitude. Parking is limited and was sometimes unavailable. They also have some sketchy looking people that rent there, like the loud, half naked cross dresser that was in the room next to mine and liked standing outside. One would think that for $ 475 a per week they would have their establishment in a little better shape.

Stay the hell away from this place! I’ve seen good hotels in bad areas and bad hotels in good areas, but never have I seen such a bad hotel in such a bad area. I spent two nights there in May 2015 and would never come back. I came for one night, but had to come back for a second because I just couldn’t find anything better. The room itself smelled like stale Indian food, a light fixture was missing, the carpet was filthy, and the sheets had pink stains. They charge $ 75 a night, when they should charge $ 7.50 a night. They have the balls to try to charge you for their crappy WiFi that doesn’t work. I got them to drop this charge only to find out that the code they give you is per device. They ask for a $ 5 deposit for the remote and key. The shower is great, if your under 5′. I happen to be 6′ 4″ so no, it wasn’t good for me. Honestly, this stretch of the PCH is full of crappy motels. I guess this is a cheap price for the Long Beach area, but this price attracts exactly who you think it will attract. People are shouting and screaming and I was really scared someone would break into my car. I’d tell you to go to another hotel, but they’re probably all the same in that area. Go anywhere else, maybe towards Torrance or Anaheim if you have a car. It’s worth the drive. If you’re looking at this hotel to visit LA’s attractions then look elsewhere because it’s about an hour and a half drive away.

Stayed here under some sketchy circumstances… spring break and 1 am=no rooms anywhere. I was stoked to see a vacancy sign at this ‘hotel’ but quickly changed my mind. Had to provide a deposit for the remote… do people seriously steal remotes? There was a lovely medley of hookers, gang members and crack whores chilling by the pool. The first room I was given did not have a lock… that was not gonna fly with the party of hoodlums outside my room. The next room had questionable white stains all over the carpet. I would not let my worst enemy sleep here. Please go elsewhere for your sanity and your health.

in the past I always loved The LB inn. im actually surprised at the reviews but at the time I was there it was in 2009. Im guessing new managment? because the family that ran the place was really cool. Im actually thinking about booking a room there for tomorrow. im sketchy about this now

I tried to stop in here to discuss rates and more importantly view a room for when my parents make an extended stay next month. The neighborhood isn’t great and the place looks a bit seedy so I was already thinking its not for my parents. What really made me mad was that the jerk at the counter would barely talk to me. He refused to show me a room and said«No Vacancy», but their vacancy light was on, and there were barely any cars in their small lot. As I tried to explain my situation he actually began to shut the door in my face! I told him that I would never do business there because he’s an [expletive deleted]. And I highly encourage you to do the same. Show these guys that to stay in business you have to treat customers with respect and courtesy. Especially since we are armed with Unilocal
